Good morning all, can a 3.5kva hybrid inverter start a 1.5hp sub-pump. I know that 3.5kva transformer based will run it without issues. Thank you

Installed !!!

10kw SRNE inverter plus 10Kw SRNE inverter parallel!

12 no of tubular batteries ( client choice )

24 no of 550watts panels

Off grid

08035153923
08051355133

That's not a very nice decision. 12 numbers tubulars In 2024!!

You go like going and coming back to that site o. The drama attached to those batteries ehn!!

seller don reduce hand to 1.2million.... You feel say e still better to buy new 10kw SRNE than the victron 10kva?

You need to be very careful with this.
Make you no go buy block as victron.

just de play, 8kw deye na over 2.5m, brand new for the victron i de see lowest like 4m for jiji

Naturally I have problems with used stuff, if I don't know the history. If I can raise 1.8m, I will rather borrow more to get that 8kw deye than buy used 10kva victron, except I know the history, or who used it.

sorry, its 10kva not 8kva

How much is brand new one?
How long has it been in service?

10kva Deye with dual mppt will just be a little higher than the 1.8m

The 12.8v 172ah capacity checks out, I used it to around 2%(169ah used) voltage delta was ~10mv at 3.145ish, @valto. I left it to charge back(300w panel only for now) till next time I come back to it.

The MC4s are crimped and connected correctly.

I did some testing and discovered that only the negative of the 2 MPPTs are connected in parallel, while the positives are independent of each other.

I'll have to disconnect one of the panels pending when I resolve the issue.

Kindly clarify this statement, is it inside the inverter, done by deye herself or installer done?
Why not connect the jinko panals only and observe the inverter, since you have connected the other string without issue.

I understand all these, the plan is to put as much PV panels as I can per growatt. I'm sort of annoyed I can only do less than 5kw when said inverter can do 6kw.

Growatt has a maximum PV input current of 22A. I'm unhappy I can't run parallel as most panels above 400w has Isc more than 11A making parallel impossible. The other alternative is to get lower capacity PVs, the space is very limited.

In the manual, did they work with lower capacity panels?

I don't want to assume they never intended you getting near that 6000w in the first instance.

38v * 12 Pcs = 456v still more than 450v, unless he connects 11s2p which should give him 418v

Oh, 500v was in my head. 11 in series then.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Oshomo12(m): 6:08pm On May 04

The max you can get out of this 580w is 8 in series which is still 4640. Still far from 6000w. I want to go near to 6000w without need for an external charger controller.

You may need to go for lower panel wattage, say, 255w Trina, voc 38v, ISC around 9a I think. You will be doing 12 in series and 2 set in parallel.

If you get power 12hours everyday, you probably don't need solar, just get 15KWh Lifepo4 and inverter and you are home and dry. You use the stored power when there is no electricity and you recharge the battery when electricity returns.

Don't forget the rate he will pay for recharging the battery, it is not free, kindly factor that in the calculation.

Have you confirmed this?

Yes, I have. It happened to Icell-power inverter. I installed it and did earthing, only for the client to call an electrician who worked on the system after 4years, since I couldn't get to him in about a week. He bypass the earthing I did, the first rain of that year knocked the inverter out. This was an installation of 4 years old.

Please for budgetary reasons, I am thinking of getting a 5KW SRNE inverter with 5.12kWh Lithium Phosphate Iron battery and 5.5kWp Solar panels (10 panels x 550w). My home load is a 2HP LG Dual Inverter AC, One 55 inch LG flatscreen, 2 laptops, 1 video game console, 2 standing fans, one fridge, one water dispenser and 12 energy bulbs. Please how can I efficiently manage the load application on the inverter system to prolong its lifespan and when during a 24 hour period can I switch on the AC, what appliances do I need to switch off when using the AC and how many hours in a day can I use the AC? Kindly advise please. Thank you.

Your load is too much for your battery, the minimum is 10kwh. Na you won use AC 24hrs. Pañels size is ok for a 10kwh battery.

Edited:
I read it wrong, use it during the afternoon, from 12noon to 6pm. This depends on how low you depleted your battery over night.

Good day house. Anyone that is willing should give a helping hand.
I bought products of solar system from one DE BLESSED SOLOMON GLOBAL SOLAR ENERGY from Alaba. Instead of brand new panels, he sent used but that's not my anger. My anger is he sent a nonworking mppt charge controller which I returned with him promising to replace it together with 2 extra panels he did not send that I ordered when the former once where on the way. He was giving me fake reasons since early February till now he is no more taking my calls or answering my WhatsApp messages. His name is SOLOMON CHIBUIKE OGBODO. If any one he has done such a thing to or knows how to get to him should please contact me. I have his phone and account numbers.

Sorry, I will be very rude here. This is none of our business, please!! Is he a member of this forum? When you won do business with him, did you involve us? We have people selling those things here, you choose to go your own way. Now things have gone south, Alaba is very big, I will advice you take it up with their Union. Good luck.

That's another thing. A friend, an installer gave someone a quote for ₦2.5m for some solar solutions, the client laughed at him and said if he has ₦2.5m that he would be out of the country where there is 24/7 power. smiley

Crooked installers get the job most of the time as compromising on quality means nothing to them. Eg using a 40A PWM to run a 5kwh PV set up. Lol

Lol, I remember when I gave a quote for an installation(ICT section) in a university, the VC and co told me it was expensive that I should reduce it. I told them no, that was the last time I heard from them. Only for them to call a big installer who did it 200k cheaper!

The 200k difference was for earthing the building and equipment.

Well, the transient current from the inverter damaged equipment worth over a million(this was when dollar cheap o, around ₦400/$).

Feel it with your hands for a description.
Rectangular or cylindrical?
Partia or longl continuity.

The cells are Poche cells, I strongly believe they are Li-ion/polymer not lifepo4. Some of the cells are probably bad.

After my inverter got fried, I noticed two days later that the battery started blinking red even though I’m still on four bar which isn’t right and I called to inform him and then that same night the battery tripped off so I took it to his office at Eleyele from Ekiti and he texted me days later that he’s done with it only to get it back and test it with the pure sine wave inverter I got from Valto and realize that it’s still doing the same thing and from full four bar, it will trip off and also after while trying to recharge it back up it will charge from one bar and then straight to four bar instead of charging one bar and then second bar and then the third before the fourth which is the last bar.
I called him last night immediately to inform him that the battery is still doing the same thing and he was claiming it was because it had been left idle for a while which is nothing but a lie I believe.
I’ve been calling him today since morning and he won’t pick up my phone please help me with police plugggggg

I don't know if you will be able to know the kind of cells he used, is it lifepo4 or liion(18650 cells), the type in laptop battery.

Ok Boss, it’s not parallel ? So I need to correct it to parallel right? Thanks boss.

Yes you need to do that. Negative wires together at one end, and positive wires together at the other end (that's parallel).

Hi everyone,

I have 2 335 watt panels with :
1. Maximum power voltage ( 37.6 V ).
2. Maximum power current ( 8.91 A ).

* If the 2 panels are connected in series,
Output = 8.91 A and 75.2 Volts

* If the 2 panels are connected in parallel,
Output = 17.82 A and 37.6 Volts

Just to confirm if the above calculation is correct?

My 60 amps PWM is delivering a maximum of 8.7 A at peak and voltage as high as 65 volts during float with the panels in parallel connection.

This is a 12V setup ( 220 amps tubular battery and battery hardly gets full in a day without usage during the day.

Just to confirm if my connection was done right.

Your connection was done wrong, those panels are connected in series and not in parallel.

The correct one is your second option
17.8A and 37.6V

Hello everyone,

I had an installer complete a 2.5KVA solar at my home. However, a piece of the battery cap broke and has been crusting leading to at least 1 episode of power outage. I fear that this would recur and of course, the installer is MIA, lots of excuses and stories. I am trying to fix this and a picture is attached, kindly advise.

Where can I buy the cap and is it a DIY replacement or do I have a bigger challenge?

Installation is less than 6 months old by the way. That's one heck of an installer for you.

I can't remember, I think someone here did something like this years back on this forum.

Good morning and happy Sunday to y’all great people out here🫡🫡🫡
I want to narrate my horrible experience with a guy known as BlueCross in Eleyele Ibadan right opposite Anwar’u Islam Grammar School, it will be a quite long story but I will make it short as much as I can.
Met him around June 2023 on jiji and we talked about doing a solar solution that is capable of charging my gadgets only, although the post of his I saw on jiji states that the solution can run a TV for 5hrs and it’s the same solution I requested for. His guy came around and installed it but then with just my 33W charger, the solution will trip off after 2hrs of charging when the sun already went down of which I contact him and made him realize this isn’t what we agreed on but I let it slide.
In October, I saw his whatsapp status one day with 10kwh battery just built by him so I said I would love half the capacity of that which is 5kwh I believe as I want to make use of it to run freezer for ice block business.
He gave me quote and I said he should take the one I had before and then I’ll add funds to it which we both agreed.
He said he will deliver within two weeks max and I paid him but more than 2months after before he came to do the installation giving me excuses of not being able to get his hands on the inverter he wanted to use for me.
Eventually he came and do the installation and after charging the battery full then I plug in my 110W freezer alone from exactly 4:30pm to run the test and behold the battery trip off at exactly 11:46pm in the same night which means it only lasted 7hrs 16minutes.
I contacted him and made him realize this can never be a 5kwh battery as there is no way it will only lasted for 7hrs as I expect nothing less than 30hrs at least from it.
Does anyone here has a police connect in that area or close by?
I do not mind spending my last kobo to make this guy realize the fraud that he is because I am frustrated by all of his doings.

Now I understand your apprehension with valto!!
