can those of us who were admitted through basic studies start our registration(if it has started) despite the fact that our names are yet to reflect on CAPS portal?

That admission through basic is provisional and subject to further verification in JAMB so you cannot start any registration as you are technically not yet admitted.

Otokx I heard the portal for payment of acceptance fee has been enabled.
Can I proceed now to pay my acceptance fee and what about other registration details?

if it is enabled on the website then you can proceed to pay in the designated banks.

This is quite a handful

Its not so hard, when you get the required CGPA which is 4 points but it is subject to the decision of the College board. For CAPS i don't have any answer as its a new process, perhaps you may throw more light on this.

The re upload has no effect on chance of admission.

I have seen people not many though drop out of medicine, pharmacy and dentistry. Know of a guy that was very good with computers that went to enter Medicine after many years he graduated in Anatomy. This year he wrote Jamb and post utme with the desire to enter Computer Engineering and he could not get the minimum post utme required score.

Are you the candidate? Candidates are advised to check their admission status on Jamb website. Why is such a simple instruction not being adhered to?

JAMB has changed admission pattern by introducing the terms consent and exhaustion. You cannot be admitting candidates that could not meet up in Medicine into Biochemistry when Biochemistry has candidates that have not been considered. You must first exhaust the candidates in Biochemistry. Where for instance a department like Animal and Environmental Biology who have exhausted their candidates you now want to admit into that department, the candidates must have consented to go there by filling the supplementary form which you did not do.

It is very wrong to say biochemistry and dentistry are less competitive.

You can still keep hoping for your name to come out in the batches but truth be told your chances are very slim. Your score is not bad but a crow will find it difficult racing with the eagles at certain heights.

sir pls wats d cut off for law? cos am tensed also,scored 259 and 240 respectively, aspiring for law ,I didn't get any text, and now from d look of things my chances are slim...........if we had got d text, at least we would have aimed our desired bird with two stones.....i thought not getting the text is a good omen.

The issue of law is quite complex and we shall leave it at that. There is a slim possibility of another supplementary being advertised in departments that are lacking people like DAE, LIS, social works, HKE, FWLM, etc so keep your eyes on the university website because it will be done very fast.

Your average is too low, why did you not pick up supplementary form for other department when it was on?

this batching is caused by Jamb, Admissions have been mostly completed, as Jamb approves then it is released.

Computer Science and Maths is an option under Mathematics and Statistics department.

Your use of the word preference is not proper, criteria has merit, catchment and educational less developed areas so you cannot say one has preference over the other.

batch 1 will soon overtake CAPS as the reigning slogan.
