Top of the morning,my people!

My day started quite early as I received a call from a site manager to supply blocks to his site.
After some back and forth s on negotiation we arrived at a price but he later pulled out of the deal saying our block industry was too far from his site.

We're still in the business of supplying blocks,sand,chipping,tiles,pipes etc.

I'll list out things to look out for before and after you buy the land

I purchased four plots of land through a pastor, who acted as the agent for the seller. He assured me that the State Governor had just awarded a road construction contract in the area, which made the investment seem promising. Although I was initially skeptical, I proceeded with the deal.
Unfortunately, I later discovered that the road construction claim was false. The pastor’s real interest was in collecting a 10% commission from my payment, while the seller used part of the money to finance his father’s burial just a month after the transaction.
To make matters worse, the land itself was problematic—the same plots had been sold to about five different buyers. It took me nearly ten years of struggle to recover only 75% of my money, and even then, it was paid back in small installments.
The entire experience left me deeply regretful. I severed ties with both the pastor and the seller, and the ordeal taught me a hard lesson about trust and due diligence in land transactions.

I'm glad you learnt your lesson.
Due diligence before buying land is very important

Honestly yes, and it was from a reliable source.,. The story goes thus

A friend I work with said he has some landed property in their care and is out for sale, the land measure 120 feet by 60 feet, as per normal measure base on believe, as per my field as well, normal... We went for site visiting and we are pleased, we needed two plot of land beside each other which we got one on the go, normal.... We were ask to meet the baale of the town for further documentation which he confirmed to be real... The only mistake we made was, we never chart the land from alausa nor involved our lawyer as per say na baale of the land direct we meet and he has his building close to the said land space and even said people are coming for the land too much that we should hurry up and deposit or pay up for the land in time...
As soon as we paid for the two plot and brought in surveyor, that is where the reality of life hit us say na government acquisition we buy after full payment was made....normal right
Na so baale say no worry start something on it that he is much available on site that no one dares touch our building or mess up there, we sha start perimeter fence work up to eleven coaches and install gate at the entrance, we built a security house, furnished the room and lock it, we did all this and three months later, government came and demolished everything, we sha lost millions of naira sha.....

Red flags are...
Don't listen to people are coming to check the land, so deposit or pay up...

Try involve lawyer on it...

Try and do survey plan and chart the location before making any payments....

End note, that was how we lost the money and property, we are still going to court since 2021 till this date 2026. May God lead us to the right path.

Immediately they pressure you to pay fast with out doing your background checks,know say na one chance

Before I even pay the woman was telling me they will easily allocate another place to me if there's any issue in the future or if I don't quickly build

What state did you buy the land

When buying lands anywhere in Nigeria,there are red flags that signify that the land may not be genuine. These red flag may range from the title of the documents, the size of land, the countenance of the seller etc.
