In a case like this, if they had told the woman, we are monitoring what happened to the baby, obviously the matter would not have gotten to this stage. Daily in Nigerian hospitals, we register similar cases, but how many make headlines?
Why did they suddenly discharge the woman, based on this report from the media? Obviously, the woman might have added some spices to make the whole issue to look juicy, but lets look at it from the neutral point of view. The hospital did not manage this situation well at all.

Until proven by a court of law? It is the fact that the system is held hostage by those under the orders of people like Abacha & Babangida that makes people like Ribadu necessary. He was determined to succeed - in the process he probably overstepped bounds. However, the system left him no choice. Governors caught red-handed were using corrupt judges to get one injunction or the other. Governors already had houses that they did not own marked down in their asset declarations in advance of looting the treasury to purchase the same.

All those allegations you are making are hearsay. There perhaps a hundred other explanations for the delay in public knowledge of the $15 million bribe. Ribadu may have not done things perfectly, but that does not put him in the same league as Mustapha. If you have some evidence, you might be able to say that he is not completely clean, but right now you 've got hearsay. Yet, you did not just call him corrupt you compared him to a murderer!

If these looters would not submit themselves to someone who at least is willing to work within the established system of justice, with a little "tweaking", the next alternative would be a revolution that will sweep them all away in one go!

We are talking about night vs. day, evil vs. good when you place Mustapha vs. Ribadu. The only job Mustapha was hired to do was to assassinate those who stand in the way of Abacha. He was the alpha and omega of who lives and who dies.

You have the temerity of putting Ribadu in the same league as Mustapha. Wonders shall never end.

Ribadu was one young man who was probably given the job of fighting corruption with skeptism, expected to achieve nothing! Yet, Ribadu knew that the single most obstacle to Nigerian development is the open and callous disregard for the life of the average Nigerian by those who are supposed to lead them. He went after the IG of police (OBJ's friend) and got him to cough up his loot, and many, many more. For the first time ever, this young man confronted these demagogues knowing fully well the potential danger to his life. Atiku is finished thanks to his tireless effort - even after Ribadu was unjustly treated Atiku stands accused, by name, in many international corruption cases. Ibori gave Ribadu $15 million to get his case dropped - that money now lives at the CBN. Yar'adua protected that same Ibori with the entire strength of his short government, while doing almost none of the things he promised. Guess where Ibori is now - running away to Dubai and facing extradition for corruption both in Nigeria and the UK.

Ribadu is no saint, nobody is, but he risked his life. All the allegations against him are falling by the wayside each day.

Search your conscience and your heart before writing this kind of crap that make you lower than people like Mustapha himself. Mustapha did "no good". No one has ever suggested he was being treated unjustly - because we know how many he and his goons killed. He will rot and die in prison for his evil acts.

As far I am concern, nothing is worse than selective justice. It is a very terrible thing.I pray some Ribadu worshippers fall into same some day. I am not saying whoever committed a crime should not be brought to book, but hiding behind the scene to steal and pervert justice is bad, while making the world believe you performed wonderfully well. If punishment must be meted out, we must first judge oursleves, before judging others (and the principle of equality must be applied).

Otobroto, have raised some issues here, which are no longer news, except for the fact that, Jonathan wants to honour a former thief and partial judge with his former post, even though he is still full of arrogance, and unapologetic traits.

I don't have any issues with all he continues to do well, and I certainly believe he is about the best governor in Nigeria, and I am certain even you would agree to that. Rather than the word supporters here, is it possible you use the word "AGBEROS" instead because only touts go around harrassing people for having an opposing view, throw aside common sense for worship, and act in the manner than many of those you are supposedly referring to here do.

Thanks, but there are so many other factors bordering this Philadelphia atlantic city express road, which may not even been seen at this Lagos road. Besides, the said road too is not as long as Lagos Ibadan express road as a poster earlier said, so why 3 tolls? That is my concern here.

This question is hard some how, because both where used and dumped.
Both hard Generals with totalitarian nature as bosses.
Both acted on the instructions of their bosses, so their conscience were dead due to over-zealousness.
One has blood in his hands (though not proven yet by the court of law), while the other has full partial status in his daily job execution.
Both looted the treasury as well, just to satisfy their bosses aspirations.
Both belonged to uniform organisations, and were high-ranked officers.
Both exhibited traits of insurbodination to their superiors in their different institutions.
The list is endless, because people of these manner, always have issues in common.

I live in lekki and its not a claim, the 1st toll gate is complete, the ground is currently being prepared for the 2nd toll @ chevron and the 3rd proposed toll at ajah hasn't started yet, residents have filed a complaint and are petitioning the toll posts but nothing is being heard from the office of the governor.

I am not talking for the sake of it, but this is serious. I want to make a case here; has any one travelled to any nation in this world where there are 3 tolls on one road? Or maybe I should rephrase it, has anyone idea about any road anywhere in the world where there are 3 tolls on just one road? Please help us out!.

I have seen the affected car with my own eyes. The name and make cannot be ascertain because I sighted it from distance, and because of the extent of burnt, but it is one of these classic cars. It might even be a Bentley car, based on the shape.

I have seen the affected property. The fire did not actually burn the property, but a car in the compound. The fire actually emanated from the Club neighbouring his house.

But why is the lekki epe expressway being redone wiv 3 toll stops, one infront of the oriental, another one just after chevron and the 3rd one after ajah, surely 1 toll gate is all they need, or are they more interested in generating revenue for lagos state than solving the traffic problem in lekki?

This is no rumour but confirmed. Fire from the neighbouring house razed Ibori's house in Victoria Island Lagos.
This incident took everybody by surprise, as Ibori himself has so many problems hanging on his neck.
From reliable sources inside, valuables worth millions of Naira, and Ibori's personal valuables have been lost to the fire.
It is being speculated that, the fire emanated from the generator house of their neighbour.
That is the situation, for now.

Yar’Adua’s condolence register disappears in Abuja

The register provided for the signing of condolences on the death of President Umaru Yar‘Adua could not be found at the Eagle Square in Abuja on the final day assigned for the signing of the register.


A correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria, who monitored activities on the last day of signing of the register on Wednesday, reported that officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps were not at the square, which has been under lock and key.


The Minister of Interior, Capt. Emmanuel Iheanacho (retd), who opened the condolence register on May 12, had urged Nigerians to pay their condolences to the late President through the register.


Iheanacho also said that the register would be opened at the square till May 19.


But, the national flag at the square was flying at full mast on Wednesday.

People make mistakes.  If in the name of justice the doctors are locked up, then we are indirectly sentencing other patients who need their care to death.  Nothing can correct the damage that has already happened; since they have owned up to it, let them pay monthly damages for a few decades.

Haba! Mr. Seun, did you really read through? Those guys owned up to this after they were made to know that there was trouble in sight. How many of such cases have they done away with without anyone knowing? It is GOD that wants to expose them.
