RomanceHelp My Igbo Girlfriend Family Do Not Want Her To Marry Me by ovation232(op): 5:35pm On May 26, 2015
I need advise and ways I can go about it from my Igbo brothers and sisters,i and my Igbo girl are seriously in love with each other since we met,the desire now is for me to marry her,as I have d financial and mental muscle to adequately provide for her,as God blessed me early in life.
The challenge I have now is that the lady's family do not want their daughter to marry outside Nnewi or east.
The family find me as a nice person and matured dude for their daughter, however they do not want her to marry from another tribe, not minding the choice of their daughter who is ever ready to go all the way with me.
My girlfriend in question was posted to Kano recently to serve her NYSC,however she is relocating to my home state of Ondo, so she can learn Yoruba culture the more and she feels southwest is a peaceful zone for her to serve without issues.I have done my homework to finally convince my parents of marrying outside Yoruba tribe and they are now comfortable with her and have accepted her after the intervention of our family pastor.
I need advise from my Igbo brothers on how best I can convince her parents that their daughter is in safe hands and get their blessings.A couple of my friends in back in Lagos are married to Igbo ladies and they are growing from strength to strength.
I speak Igbo language now fairly having lived in various places in East for the past seven years of working as a auditor with one of Nigeria's reputable banks.I admire the Igbos and am an ambassador of the hospitality of Ndigbo. Please help a brother,am so confused right now.
PoliticsRe: 16 Political Parties Endorse Buhari by ovation232(m): 6:24pm On Mar 26, 2015
9jaroof:
Sixteen political parties in Ekiti State have endorsed the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), for the Saturday’s presidential poll.
The parties also passed a vote of confidence in the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega, to conduct a free, fair and credible poll.
At a press conference in Ado Ekiti on Thursday, the political parties, which spoke through the Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, Mr. Tunji Ogunlola, said only Buhari, among the candidates, could deliver the Nigeria’s economy from the shackle of corruption and insecurity.
He said the task of rebuilding the nation was onerous but could be achieved if Nigerians keyed into the ‘change’ message which Buhari had brought.
Lamenting the level of insecurity and corruption under President Goodluck Jonathan’s current government, Ogunlola, a former Chairman of the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties, promised that the 16 parties would work for Buhari’s victory at the poll.
He said, “We have thrown our weight behind Gen. Buhari in the interest of all Nigerians to salvage , liberate and rebuild the country.
“We, therefore, look forward to ensuring the resounding victory of Gen. Buhari, who will break the yoke of insecurity in the country.
“We appeal to eligible voters to actively participate peacefully in these elections and protect the sanctity of the electoral process, devoid of rancor and acrimony since election is a passing phase.
“We call on candidates of all political parties to remember the peace accord signed during the stakeholders’ meeting held recently and discourage their followers from participating in thuggery and politics of bloodshed.
“We, however, express concerns over indiscriminate arrest of opposition leaders in the state by the PDP-led government,” saying such action could cause violence in the state if it continues unchecked.

PoliticsBreaking News:alex Otti Attacked In Abia by ovation232(op): 10:27am On Mar 20, 2015
Thugs suspected to loyal to the Peoples Democratic Party attacked the campaign team of the governorship candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Abia, Dr. Alex Otti, on Thursday, March 19, at Ntigha Junction on the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway,

The attack against the former Diamond Bank boss was the second in less than two weeks.

The campaign team was initially attacked on March 9, while on their way to Oboro in Ukwuano Local Government Area of the state for town hall meetings with the people of the area.

According to eyewitnesses, the new attack occurred while Otti’s motorcade was heading to Mbawsi in Isialangwa North Local Government Area of the state, for a town hall meeting.

The eyewitness account revealed that the thugs waylaid Otti’s team at Ntigha Junction on the expressway.

The thugs were said to have blocked the way to Mbawsi, shooting randomly into the air, resulting in a stampede as motorists on the expressway as well as cyclists, passersby and hawkers at the junction ran to different directions for safety.

An eyewitness revealed that the incident happened around 2 p.m, saying that the thugs were later repelled by youths of the area with the assistance of policemen.

He said: “The thugs came in branded buses and blocked the road to Mbawsi. We sensed that there was danger and they started shooting as soon as Otti’s convoy (motorcade) approached the junction. The resultant stampede made vehicles on the expressway, motorcyclists, hawkers and everybody to run for safety.”

He added that Otti’s motorcade parked by the roadside until the thugs took to their heels.
PoliticsOnly A Bastard Will Vote Jonathan In Yorubaland (Sen.Adefuye) by ovation232(op): 9:47am On Mar 20, 2015
The historic Parliament Building in Ibadan was over-filled today as prominent Yoruba in all professions, princes and monarchs, governors and former governors, gathered to articulate their aspirations and minimum demands from the Federal Government.

The high point of the summit, convened by the illustrious Yoruba retired army general, Alani Akinrinade was the total support given the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, General Muhammadu Buhari.

The summiteers declared unanimously, “It is Buhari or nobody else”.

A major proponent of this declaration, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Samuel Odulana Odugade who was represented by High Chief Eddy Oyewole said, “On 28 March, 2015, let us vote for Buhari”.

He condemned the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for wasting the meager resources of the country by lavishly bribing various individuals and groups to secure their supports.

While Senator Anthony Adefuye strongly stated, “Only a bastard Yoruba will vote for Jonathan, Senator Olabiyi Durojaiye said, ‘We will vote en masse for Buhari”.

Shortly after delivering the message sent by the governorship candidate of Accord Party in the state, Senator Rasheed Ladoja that he would go the way of Yoruba people.

What you saw brought to the fore is a reflection of what has been happening behind the scene.
At the front is buhari but the real rulers will be tinubu, amechi, saraki and some few of them.
At the front is an expired man bereft of modern ideas but packaging him as new are men like those earlier mentioned.
At the front is a man believed to be corrupt free cpapable of tackling corruption, but behind are the most corrupt men like those earlier mentioned.
He's just the puppet, the 'real mccoy' are those niggers behind.
u only succeeded in fooling yourself and other myopic commentators,Ameachi only prevented him from giving ever inquisitive journalists a headline news, based in Buhari stern personality.period

GMB is President in waiting, even Jonathan knows diz,he is only distributing dollars to frustrate d incoming government and cripple them financially.Jonathan lost our support over his clearly bias manner of handling the Ameachi/Wike/Patience/Mbu crisis. It was a very poor public relations crisis to his govt.Even our west African neighbours of Ghana,NIger,Cameroon,Chad are just waiting anxiously for GEJ to just leave,so dey can redirect their energy to attending to their national issues.

PoliticsLifestyle Of Bankers In Nnewi, anambra State by ovation232(op):
The industrial town of Nnewi is home to Igbo Billionaires like Cletus Ibeto,Cosmos Maduka,Innoson,Capital Oil,Denca,Ngobros etc.As a result of both commercial and industrial nature of the town, banks are fully represented.
The bankers here mostly live in Awka,Onitsha,Asaba and some few ones in Nnewi but rush down to work everyday and back in the evening to their various locations.Among the popular bankers in Nnewi are Paul Zenith Bank,TemiEcobank,Chijioke Zenith bank etc. This guys make d town thick.Try visit Nnewi on your next trip to East.
Bankers here chase after Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital ladies and go as far as Okofia in Otolo,Nnewi where the nursing students of NAUTH resides.
Many of this bankers are married back home except for some and they pretend like bachelors just to get what they want.
Bankers in Nnewi are involved in heavy deals in forex,Nnewi bn an import dependant market, where every businessman imports from China, dollar demand is so high and banks like Ecobank,Mainstreet Bank,Enterprise,Fidelity,FCMB do high level of forex transactions.
It is from proceeds of buying and selling dollar that they maintain there lifestyles and purchase pish cars and aquire properties,d sad part is that no job security in banking generally.
