Politics › Re: Obiano Blasts Emeka Ojukwu Jnr: "You Are A Sad Irony Of Your Father" by Owerri1stSon: 12:13pm On Dec 03, 2017 |
Anstalk: Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, has described Ojukwu Jr. as ‘a sad irony’ of his father, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.
He said this while debunking a claim that he pestered Emeka Ojukwu to return to the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
Son of the Biafran warlord had on November 15, dumped APGA, a political party believed to have been founded by his late father, for the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
In a recent interview, Ojukwu Jr. said that Obiano had been lobbying for him to return to the party, adding that the Anambra governor was playing “ infantile and local politics.”
But responding in a statement by his Media Aide, Olivier Okpala, Obiano said Ojukwu lied against him, stressing that he had never talked to the late Igbo leader’s son since he joined the APC.
Obiano said he had nothing to gain if Ojukwu returned to APGA.
The statement partly reads, “It is a matter of pure pathetic fallacy for the younger Ikemba to say that Governor Obiano is lobbying him to come back to APGA.
“The governor wondered on what grounds anybody would ever lobby Ojukwu to return to APGA while he never held any important position to warrant being described as a stakeholder or a leader of the party when he was a member of APGA.
“In fact, nobody knew that he was a member of the party.”
Obiano described Ojukwu’s son as “a sad irony of his father” who “In his lifetime, was the champion of the struggle for the rights and emancipation of his people, standing firm with his Igbo brothers and sisters and never betraying their cause.”
Adding, “I wonder what the Great Ikemba would be thinking when his son openly denied the only political entity which he left to unite the Igbo under a political umbrella.
“It is unfortunate that Ojukwu’s son described an elder and the governor of his state as one playing juvenile and local politics when the late Ojukwu respected constituted authorities.
“We urge Ojukwu Jnr to show respect to the governor and continue his sojourn with the APC rather than make untrue remarks about the governor.”

orion7: Since atiku left apc the ruling party, there have been a lot of pain and gnashing of teeth here on nairaland. Especially within zombie Ranks Some of these teeth gnashers have resorted to opening diff threads and wailing asking people from the SE region why they will vote for atiku. Well I will try and explain this to them teeth gnashers. Igbos never liked buhari. Most Igbos voted for jonathatn simply because the other option was buahri a man that is as old as mugabe. And a corrupt man that pretends to be a saint. Some of these teeth gnashers. Have tried to make it seem like their region single handedly made buhari president despite their masters telling them. To keep quiet . That kano had more votes that their whole region combined in favour of pa buhari. The have refused to listen.
Now they are all about in a frenzy crazy mood screaming ipob at anyone that has vowed not to vote for buhari. What they fail to understand is atiku is a notherner, buhari will not get the kind of massive votes he got from the north last year, because a political atiku will split the vote, with him Teeth gnashers need to know that the people of the SE will deliver a block vote for atiku. And of course our sister zone the south south. Let the teeth gnashers say all they want but the voting patterns of the SE and SS are always in tandem Block votes coming from the SE and SS will defiantly eat up anything coming from the other region, which wouldn't no matter how much they ring, be a black vote.
So teeth gnashers prepare to gnash and gnash your enamels till the trumpet sounds
Cc markfemi, python1, sarki Orion7 any Igbo man/woman who vote either of them would be crazy. Igbos should fight for their right as one of the apposite tribes in Nigeria holding sway globally. Our Political representatives have used us a lot, and we keep playing dumb to them. They keep selling and reselling our pride to the Northerners who careless about the Igbos. I affirm to some principles of the IPOB. |
Politics › Re: The North Has Chosen To Stick With Buhari - Northern Elders Reject Atiku by Owerri1stSon: 8:52am On Dec 03, 2017 |
BafanaBafana: Dr Paul Unongo said President Buhari will win the 2019 election
- The chairman of the NEF said Atiku is only desperate to be president
- He insisted that Buhari was a tried and trusted candidate
Dr Paul Unongo who is the chairman of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) has said that the north is undivided in its choice between President Muhammadu Buhari and Atiku Abubakar.
In an interview with The Sun, the NEF chairman said the north has decided to stick with President Buhari because he was a tried and tested leader unlike Atiku who he described as being desperate to be president. He said: "What has Atiku got to offer Nigeria? Atiku would be in one party for two hours and he would abandon it and join another one for three hours and when he does not get what he wants, he jumps into another party. And now he is like saying Atiku must be president, Atiku must be president of Nigeria. There is no single person in Nigeria that must be president. I think money tries to make some people mad; they think they can buy anything they want and everybody.
"The North has no problem whatsoever and it is not only the North that elected President Buhari in the last presidential election. Buhari got average of the votes in virtually all parts of the country. Remember that Buhari contested for the primaries with Atiku and he beat him in that election thoroughly. Atiku did not even come second. Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State got more votes than him. People who are thinking that Atiku can do something when he joins the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) are making a mistake. Nigeria has passed that way and left it behind for a long time ago. We are not impressed by Atiku who jumps from one party to the other and say oh! I have a lot of money and I must be president. Nigerians are not going to put such people in power.
"We love Buhari, a man of integrity and principle; you can predict him and when he says a thing, you can be sure that what he is saying is true. Buhari would win Atiku any day, anywhere and any time.
On the assumption that the progressive north would support Atiku and that the conservative would be behind President Buhari, Unongo said: “I do not know who are the progressive North and the conservative North. My name is Paul Unongo and I am a Northerner. I have gone to the prison 24 times. I think I am a progressive. I just finished a lecture praising late Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe on his memorial lecture in Lagos. I am also the convener, leader and chairman of the Northern Elders Forum. So, where do I belong? Between me and Atiku, who is a progressive and who is not? I can tell you that Nigeria’s democracy is waxing stronger.
“If the PDP likes, let them field Atiku. If he contests with Buhari, he would win Atiku by 9 o’clock in the morning. Buhari is a tested and trusted principled leader. We are not for sale and the presidency of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is not for sale. The presidency is not for the highest bidder.
“We in the North have no problem on who to choose between Buhari and Atiku. We are not divided. I used to say to everybody in Nigeria that we in the North are more radical than the South. We can accommodate both Buhari and Atiku but the North is mature politically and they know where to go and we are going to go where we should go. But we are not going to vote to bring the PDP back to power.
“The economy was knocked down by the previous administration and Buhari promised that he would bring it up and he did. The security situation in the country was terrible so much that the Boko Haram sect was taking over some parts of the North and Buhari promised that he would address the situation and he did. Nobody would contest that he has addressed substantially the issue of security in the country. He said he would fight corruption and today, they are recovering piles and piles of money including dollars even buried underground. Nobody had done that before. He promised these three and has delivered on all of them. Everybody is seeing what he is doing. There is no doubt that he is better than Atiku and I can assure you that we would stay with President Buhari." When asked whether the north might miss out on the presidency if a strong candidate from the south emerges, he said: “I can predict exactly what the South would do. In the last presidential election, if you count the votes in the three geo-political zones of Southwest, Southeast and South south, Buhari still had the majority of the votes. We are going to repeat that in the 2019 general elections because the candidate that the PDP is trying to bring is not the type that you can compare with Buhari.”
Meanwhile, Atiku said he decided not to wait and participate in the APC primary election because the party had become a one-man business.
He said since President Buhari came into power, he failed to take charge of the growth of the party.
The former vice president expressed optimism of defeating President Buhari in 2019 saying he has lost a lot of goodwill.

Christianity Etc › Re: Difference Between The Rapture And The Second Coming by Owerri1stSon: 8:20am On Dec 03, 2017 |
Interesting15: Many Christians are yet to have an appropriate knowledge about the Rapture and The Second Coming of Jesus Christ, and there are some Christians who are even thinking they are the same.
First of all, we need to know that The Rapture and The Second Coming are two different events that will happen at different times.
The Rapture (from the Latin verb 'rapere', which means 'to transport from one place to another') is the catching up of all believers for a glorious meeting with Christ in the air.
"Behold I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed - in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality." (1 Corinthians 15:51-53).
Also see 1 Thessalonians chapter 4: 15-17
So, The Rapture comes first, and is an event whereby the Lord Jesus comes for His Saints (dead and living), and we shall meet Him in the air.
The Saints are those who have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of their lives and are living in holiness. The Saints are those that are living a CONSISTENT holy and godly lifestyle, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. They are the ones who will be transformed to meet Jesus in the air, while unbelievers and lukewarm Christians will be left behind.
Now, after the rapture, the Saints will proceed into the sky to participate in the marriage feast of the Lamb, where rewards would be given to everyone present according to his/her deeds on earth.
What Happens To Those Left Behind?
Immediately after the rapture, the Great Tribulation will begin, and the Antichrist will be given power to torment those left behind. The Antichrist will force people to receive the mark of the beast (666) either on their forehead or arm.
Those that won't receive it would be vehemently tormented: They won't be able to buy and sell, they will suffer violent persecutions with no one to help. And according to the graphic illustration given by the Lord Jesus about the Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:15-28), many won't be able to withstand the torments for long (that is, they can't help but to receive the mark of the beast)
BUT: THOSE THAT WILL RECEIVE THE MARK OF THE BEAST WILL BE ETERNALLY DAMNED IN THE LAKE OF FIRE AT THE APPOINTED TIME.
Don't forget that while the tribulation is taking place on earth, the Saints that have been raptured are with Jesus Christ in the sky enjoying the marriage supper as well as their rewards.
THEN: At the end of the marriage supper in the sky and the Tribulation on earth, THE SECOND COMING will take place.
The Second Coming is the public revelation of Jesus Christ, when He comes WITH HIS SAINTS (those who have been previously raptured and have participated in the marriage supper in the sky) to set up the Millennium (see 1 Thessalonians 3:13 and Matthew 24: 29-31)
Here, those who have suffered just because they won't take the mark of the beast during the Great Tribulation, will now have a new hope.
My Advice:
Jesus said the day and hour of these events are not known, but will happen anytime, and it will come like a thief in the night. He gave us some signs we should watch out for, and if you look at the scriptures, you will see the signs keeps coming to pass (Please see Mark 13:
That means, if Jesus Christ can predict those things and TRUELY, they keeps coming to pass, then His promise of the rapture and second coming will also come to pass!
So, if you are yet to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, please do so now, as tommorow might be too late.
And for we that are already Christians, let us allow the belief that Jesus will return one day, to guide us within godly conducts.
How sure are you that you can withstand the torment of the Antichrist during the great tribulation? The best thing for you is to live a lifestyle of holiness that will make you rapturable with Jesus Christ, and go on with Him to enjoy the marriage supper.
The Lord asked me to tell you this:
"I stand at the door, I cometh, I cometh" Thus saith the Lord Of Host! God help us |
