CareerRe: How Can I Collect My Employment Letter From My Employer by owo206: 9:32am On Jul 14, 2016
My brother ask them to produce your employment letter. this is incident happened to me. After serving the probation period an excuse was given and they cancelled the employment. its a cheat from some company's to enslave Nigerians.
lawnreigh:
Good Afternoon Nairalanders, I really need your advice my people, I work in a production company owned Chinese as an Asst. HR, although I was recently employed there, I asked my Manager who happens to be a Nigerian about employment letter at least if I'm not collecting it in the beginning (probation period) I should be able to know the duration which the probation period will end and I will be able to collect my employment letter. To my greatest surprise my Manager told me that they don't give employment letter that funny enough he hasn't been given one too. It was so surprising and demoralizing, he now told me to meet our General Manager(Chinese) and ask him about it. After asking him, he dodged the question and told me that he will consider it latter and all that. My Manager already told me that will be his response and that they don't give people letter in order to avoid litigation in it comes up. To the Lawyers and experienced people on this forum, I need your advice
Note: This people can make you work for 24hrs and they pay stipend that doesn't commensurate with my certificate coupled with the fact that I speak Chinese (intermediate). Moreover I've seen them dismiss people in cold blood(Factory Workers), they axe at will, no severance package, benefits etc but the fear of unemployment is also the beginning of wisdom considering the fact that there are little job out there with thousands of Job Seekers. Please matured advice only

chie8:
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has deployed additional aircraft to the Niger Delta in support of the military operations code named “OPERATION PULO SHIELD” against militancy, economic sabotage and all forms of criminalities in the South-South region of the Country.

The deployment was necessitated by the recent spate of attacks on the Nation’s oil and gas installations by the new militant group, Niger Delta Avengers (NDA). The additional platforms, comprising fighter aircraft, helicopter gunship and surveillance aircraft, are intended to enhance the capability of the NAF to undertake offensive air operations and intelligence gathering in support of the surfaces forces. Since the recent deployment the NAF has increased air operations around critical infrastructure in Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers and Akwa Ibom States.

These include but not limited to Escravos, Forcados in Delta State; Bonga oil field, Agbami offshore and Brass in Bayelsa; Bony in Rivers; Qua Iboe Terminal in Akwa Ibom State, and Opuekeba in Ondo State.

Meanwhile, the NAF wishes to urge members of the public not to panic at the sight of low level flying aircraft but to go about their legitimate businesses. The NAF also enjoins any member of the public to avail it or other Security Agencies with useful information about the where about or activities of the militant group.

I Smell Rat,,,,,,Very big rat cry
Halleydavid:
I wonder why the government is trying to shield those who returned looted funds, that they returned should not mean they are saints, they stole in the first place and if pressure was not mounted on them to return or they did not get scared, they would never have returned anything.

Publishing names and amount returned is true accountability and this government should stick to that. We Nigerians want to see the names of who caused deaths, poverty and starvation in the country by looting funds whether they have returned it or are still playing big to get. We have a right to know. Give us the full list

I believe without doubts that our dear youth and wailers will understand that nothing is worth killing for nor insulting ourselves becos of our political affiliation. Ogoni land witnessed great ideas and minds sitting together and proferring solutions for the common men and women of ogoni origin. Not mindless political thugs grin

We shall support clean-up of Ogoni land - Wike

Remarks By His Excellency, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, Con, Governor Of Rivers State At The Launch Of The Clean-up Of Ogoniland And Other Oil Impacted Communities In The Niger Delta At Bodo City, Rivers State On Thursday 2nd June 2016

Protocol

It is my honour and privilege to welcome the President and Commander-In-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR and his highly distinguished entourage to Rivers State to formally launch the implementation of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Report and the Clean-Up of Ogoniland and other oil impacted communities in the Niger Delta.

2. For decades, the entire Niger Delta has been subjected to the worst forms of environmental degradation ever experienced by mankind in this part of the world. Millions of barrels of oil have been spilled into the environment by companies exploiting and extracting hydrocarbons from the area with severe consequences to the ecosystem, including wildlife, marine habitations, soil and water quality and human health.

3. Despite continuing protests by the people, the environmental degradation of the Niger Delta has not stopped. Oil spills continue to occur with distressing regularity even in Ogoniland, where oil exploitation had since 1993 ceased.

4. As the UNEP Report starkly reveals, the degree of environmental damage in the Niger Delta has been so deep and expansive that it would take several decades to carry out full remediation of impacted sites.
5. The UNEP report, which is the precursor to today’s event, is significant for at least, two reasons. First, it presents the best available and factually detailed documentation of the scale of the existing and continuing damage to the entire Ogoni environment and by extension, the Niger Delta
6. Second and most significantly, it presents a clear roadmap on the priorities for action by government, stakeholders and the international community in terms of clean-up, remediation and restoration of the damage that has accumulated over the years.
7. For us as a people and the direct victims of the most brazen forms of environmental abuse, today is a watershed in our collective struggle for environmental justice from the Nigerian nation and the world community.

8. We therefore welcome this initiative wholeheartedly as shown by our enthusiastic presence, believing that the recommendations of UNEP will be systematically executed. This is because, we believe, that only environmental justice would restore sustainable peace, stability and socio-economic progress in the Niger Delta.

9. We are therefore commend Mr. President’s determination to close this ugly chapter in our country’s history. Although this has taken long in coming; it is never too late when it comes to the environment. Therefore, Mr. President Sir, your presence in Ogoniland today is a testimonial of the long awaited clean-up and remediation exercises of the Niger Delta polluted environment.

11. We appreciate and most sincerely thank Your Excellency for this bold initiative. We commend Mr. President for the work you are doing generally to stamp out corruption, stabilize our economy and make Nigeria a nation where no man is oppressed. May God give you the enablement to surmount these challenges.

12. We thank all our stakeholders, including our international friends, who have sustained the struggle and advocacy to preserve our environment for the succeeding generations.

13. Finally, we acknowledge that this is a federal initiative. The direct impact is borne by our people. We therefore urge all our stakeholders to embrace and support this Federal Government gesture and ensure a hitch-free exercise.

14. On our part, the Rivers State Government will ever be willing to provide the platform for a smooth achievement of this long awaited intervention.

15. May God bless Rivers State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Beauty is in the Eyes of the Beholder,,,So they say
GurlFriend:
Remember this pre-wedding photo that broke the internet early this week?

While people were awed by the muscular guy's so-called courage in marrying a woman her size, others engaged in full blown fat shaming.

The groom-to-be, Kojo Prince has spoken out on why he chose Abena, his full figured fiancee. He also said that peopel don't make fun of the disparity in their size in his presence because he will NEVER allow anyone disrespect his woman while he is alive. The love struck man is a construction worker, which may explain why he was able to successfully lift her up.

Speaking to Kwadjo Panyin, he just couldn't stop heaping praises on his rubenesque lover. Read the very interesting interview below
