wike is only popular in his state.
Encourage him to come out for presidency and see how many state he will win among SS state.
He even listed omo agege. someone that struggled to win his senatorial District.

One thing I found out about you is that you like to lie to yourself a lot.

This was how you were assigning funny figures to Atiku and Tinubu in the Southeast and Southsouth before the elections; I told you it won’t happen but you argued you a are a professor of ‘real politick’.

What later happened? Tinubu and Atiku both struggled to get up to 5% of votes cast in the entire southeast. Southsouth wasn’t any different either but for INEC’s rigging.

Now you are back with another round of self deception.

I can take what you said about other people because they appear realistic but how did you arrive at your conclusion about Wike?

Let me tell you the reality on ground, like I told you before the elections, Wike is the most hated politician in Rivers State in particular, and the entire Southsouth in general, as of today. If he contests in a free and fair House of Assembly election today, he would fail even if his opponent is a stone.

What you are mistaking for popularity is just his network of criminal structure within the PDP across some Southsouth states. But for the fact that these guys are associating with him alone, they have lost popularity just like Wike.

Things were even better for Wike before the election. But after doing what he did during the election, he buried himself by himself. That’s why he’s struggling to get a post in Tinubu’s govt so he can stay relevant.

As you didn’t before the election, I don’t expect you to believe what I’ve said here, not like I care, I just wanted to state the facts as they are; like I always do.

Leave am make him dey post rubbish.
he should list the ones from his region and stop there.

I don’t mind being a nobody in the eyes of others. That’s why I’m here anonymously lol

The unification of the Naira rate is good policy that the incompetent PMB and his failed administration didn’t do. The ending of fuel subsidy is good policy that the incompetent PMB and his failed administration didn’t do. The country is clearly suffering in the very short term so let’s see how PBAT responds.

Peter Obi vowed to remove fuel subsidy on day one. If Peter Obi had won and implemented these policies, you would be defending him and asking others to give him time because he inherited a mess from a failed administration. So same goes for PBAT.

Again Nigeria is in this mess because we had an inept leader in Buhari, who is not even fit to manage your local pharmacy, running the country into the ground for 8 years. Anyone that took over from him would have had a monumental task on their hands.

All we can look for at this stage are signals of competency which I can see with PBAT compared to his useless predecessor. So I’m willing to give him a chance.

I supported Obi. I wish he won. If he miraculously manages to win his court case I would be delighted.

But you know what, I’d rather Tinubu remained President than have a re-election that hands the presidency to another clueless cabal-oriented politician like Atiku.

Most educated Nigerians don’t need their tribesman as President to be successful. They just need a strong economy that is thriving and a secure nation. We will only get that with the most competent people running the country rather than Buhari’s family and friends. I’m eagerly awaiting PBAT’s ministerial list.

Well said. I don’t doubt for a second that the northern cabal are angry and based on what I’m starting to learn about PBAT, the north will only get more angry as he implements his vision for Nigeria.

Every single region in the south will benefit from true federalism, opening up the power sector and opening up the borders for trade on certain things. I’d argue all these things would benefit the north too but their leaders have shown to firmly believe the opposite.

The south needs to be united in ensuring that power remains there in 2027. And in 2031 we must demand better than Buhari-level incompetence and nepotism from the north.

Go and preach all these your gibberish to your audience.
did Peter Obi tells you that he will remove subsidy without caution?
these same buhari you are calling names now was praised and worshiped by you and your minions for 8 years.
Which stride is tinubu making? tinubu should be a tax collector nothing else.

PBAT is certainly making tough decisions but at least they are based on long term economic wisdom unlike his predecessor. He also seems to be leaning towards competent technocrats unlike the PMB and his nepotism.

Based on this trajectory there is no reason to think PBAT will be a failure like PMB. He just needs time just like Obi would have needed time too.

To a certain extent, I am receptive to this as a Northerner. Having endured Buhari and now Tinubu, I believe Nigerians are ready to give Jonathan another chance at the presidency once he has hopefully learned from his time in office (2011-2015).

You can take it to the north.
I'm sure GEJ is doing better with his life.
The north can take it.
Politics / Re: The North Should Support Goodluck Jonathan In The 2027 Elections by Owologbo(m): 7:54am On Jul 03, 2023

Goodluck Jonathan should be supported by the North in 2027 election so that he can complete his tenure for the presidency, complete the presidency being in the south for 8 years and give Ibo people(given his lineage) and the wider South-South a sense of belonging. If PDP want to get back into power, Jonathan is their best bet in 2027(One-term candidate!!)

I based this argument on the following reasons: As a Northerner, I cannot support Peter Obi as I feel he is too clannish for me to support given his previous antecedents in the 2023 elections.
Secondly, I believe Nigerians will be fed up with the Tinubu administration as the cost of living increases over time. Furthermore, I believe the following reasons will be to Goodluck's advantage:

Experience and Stability: Goodluck Jonathan has previously served as the President of Nigeria from 2010 to 2015, providing him with valuable experience in governance and leadership. By electing him for a second term in 2027, the country can benefit from his knowledge and stability, allowing for continued progress and development.

National Unity: One of the key goals of any democratic nation is to promote national unity and inclusivity. By having Goodluck Jonathan as president, it can help bridge the gap between different ethnic groups and religions, including the Igbo people (who feel marginalised). This sense of belonging and representation can contribute to a more cohesive and harmonious society. So many people are not happy with the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the APC.

Economic Growth: Goodluck Jonathan's previous tenure saw some positive economic growth, with Nigeria experiencing an average GDP growth rate of over 6% per year during his presidency. By giving him another opportunity to lead, it is possible that he can build on his previous achievements and further stimulate the economy, benefiting all Nigerians.

Political Stability: Transitioning power smoothly is crucial for political stability. By allowing Goodluck Jonathan to complete his tenure, it demonstrates a commitment to democratic principles and upholding the rule of law. This can inspire confidence in the political system and contribute to a more stable environment for future leaders to assume office. It will also increase the sense of belonging of the SS and the SE

A Balanced Power Distribution: By having the North take over the presidency in 2031 after Goodluck Jonathan's tenure, it allows for a fair and balanced distribution of power among different regions of the country. This rotation of power can help address concerns of marginalization and ensure that diverse perspectives and interests are represented at the national level.

A changed man: Goodluck Jonathan's previous tenure as president has provided him with valuable insights and lessons, allowing him to enhance his leadership in a second term. With improved governance skills and institutional knowledge, he can address past challenges and implement effective policies. Jonathan's return to power would bring about collaborative leadership, inclusive decision-making, and a strengthened focus on economic development, all contributing to national unity and a better Nigeria.

I think as we approach 2027, so many people in the PDP and in the North will be open to this argument. Majority of Tinubu's votes were from the North(63%). If he looses Northern support he will not get re-elected. This argument will get stronger if Tinubu decides to run a biased Administration as he will quickly loose the Northern support.

If Goodluck should decide to run he will win easily and defeat Tinubu based on the above permutations.

Did GEJ tells you he's hungry to be president again? abi you dey look for how to insult him (and south south) again?
You know y'all know how to rubbish those from the minority tribe o; just like you are doing to Emefiele while you look the other side when it comes to minister of aviation, minister of humanitarian affairs and all the other criminals from the majority tribes.

The irony of the whole thing is South West have more affinity to the South South than SE have towards SS. Look up your map, Itsekiri, a Yoruboid group from Ile-Ife who openly identify as Yoruba occupy the entire coastline down to the borders of Bayelsa.

Also, the SS are afraid of the intentions of the Igbo and would choose Yoruba again and again when the chips are down. In fact they will be the ones sending delegations to Lagos and Ibadan. We won't lift a finger. Why is that, they are safer with us and they know we have no use for their oil. Thesame cannot be said for the SE whose hope is built around SS prosperity.

The South South is broadly made up of two parts, the Midwest axis (Bendel or Edo and Delta) and the Calabar- Rivers axis (made up if Cross Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Bayelsa). While the Midwest axis was excised from the old Western Region, Calabar- Rivers axis was excised from the old Eastern Region. Note however that since it's excision, d South West Yorubas have never laid claim to d Midwest region of South South. They moved on and allowed Midwest South South enjoy their "independence".

On the other hand, the South East Ndigbo have not allowed the South South to be. Either their political leaders are claiming South South is part of them or their Biafran zealots are carving maps designating SS region as integral parts of Biafra irrespective of d feeling of the people. Their celebrities and activists even make provocative comments and posts declaring that South South doesn't exist in geography forgetting same argument can be made for Midwest and Middle East yet d world recognizes d Middle East.

The SE is behaving like a lover who wants to keep dragging an ex who has long moved on. When u compare them with how d SW has allowed d SS be despite Midwest being once with them, u can easily tell why d SW are doing far better than d SE in d Nigerian project. Let d SE leave d SS alone, d forced attachment is annoying. Of all d regions in Nigeria only d SE is refusing to accept and respect d "independence" of d SS region. It's things like this that are making others not to trust d SE and in turn d SE would claim others hate them. No, your attitude is bad and annoying, change it and no one would hate u or marginalize u. U can't claim Hausa Fulanis hegemony on one hand why u are doing far worse to d Niger Delta people. Politics / Re: Why Is Tinubu And His Men Trying To Severe The SE/SS Bond? by Owologbo(m): 2:55pm On Jun 30, 2023
Penguin2:
Since the 1952 elections in the colonial Nigeria till this year’s general elections, about 70 years later, the Southeast and Southsouth have, to a substantial extent, always voted in same direction.

The two regions have been like a woman’s breast where if you are able to suck one, you will get the other one for free. That is that if you can get the Southsouth to support your presidential ambition as a presidential candidate then you are getting the southeast as jara, and vice versa.

This might be because these two regions were historically one region before the balkanization that happened in 1967 at the wake of the Civil War which was intended to weaken the homogeneity of the Old Eastern Region.

But asides the fact that these regions shared same political and regional entity in the past, they are almost, substantially, same people as can be observed from their homogeneous Christianity, similarities in culture, customs, etc. The only substantially separation between these people is dialects.

Now, this near homogeneity is why they tend to share same worldview and are always attracted to same thing, ideas and ideals. Hence the consistency in voting in same direction in successive elections.

This union between SE/SS is why northern politicians have always coveted an alliance between the north and SE/SS. This was the pattern since 1960 when Northern and Eastern alliance birthed the first indigenous government when Tafawa Balewa became Prime Minister and Azikiwe became President. This alliance was sustained in the 1979 and 1983 elections, and between 1999 till 2015.

We can say that that pattern was broken by Buhari in 2015 because he was overly popular in the north. But even Buhari himself courted the North/Eastern alliance in 2 election cycles but failed to get because the Easterners failed to gravitate to him because of the reason we just finished seeing for 8 years.

Now, after the last election where the incumbent president was able to be declared ‘winner’ because Atiku and Obi being on the ballot divided the Northern/Eastern alliance votes, I’ve noticed that Tinubu has commissioned his foot soldiers to start both online and offline propaganda to try to break the bond between the two brothers of Southeast and Southsouth.

That’s why Asari Dokubo started saying gibberish online about how he was selling Igbos and all. It’s obvious the intention was to get the Igbos to react, and from there spark an ethnic friction between the Ijaw and Igbo and from there they will use propaganda to lump other ethnic minorities in Southsouth into it of how Igbos are trying to dominate them and other lies they’ve told since the 1960s.

But the Igbos are always one million miles ahead of these agents of darkness. That’s why till today not even an Igbo baby has responded to Asari Dokubo. You would wonder if all Igbos are in one WhatsApp group where we were instructed not to respond to Asari but we are not. We are just so alike that we reason and react same way to things. We saw through Asari from a million miles and ignored him. Now he has foolishly crawled back to whence he came.

But not only Asari, even here on Nairaland, I’ve seen multiple threads trying to tell Southsouth people why they should stop associating with the Southeast. Some have even created threads to tell Ebonyi people that they are not Igbos just so they would stop adding to the voting powerhouse that is SE/SS.

Now, apart from Asari and online minions, a closer look at the actions Wike, Ibori, Akpabio and co, will tell you that they are trying to re-engineer the Southsouth away from the Southeast and redirect them towards the Southwest so they can birth a SS/SW alliance that would now be going into alliance with the north to win elections. That’s the reason they fought so had to give Akpabio the Senate Presidency just to make it seem that Tinubu cares about the Southsouth.

Hence my question, why is Tinubu and his men trying to separate two brothers?

Do you not know we can see through you from a million miles away?

Do you think your propaganda and shenanigans will separate us?
