The Lagos state police command have arrested a Muslim cleric, Abdullahi Omobolaji popularly known as Alfa over allegations of sexual assault on a 17 year old girl identified as Idowu at Bakare lane in the Agege area of Lagos state.

According to Punch, the assault on the girl started in November 2014 after the 40 year old Alfa who hails from Kwara state lured her to his room which he used for spiritual consultation and claimed to have seen a vision that she had been placed under a curse by a man and that the only way she can be redeemed was for him (Alfa) to have sex with her. Narrating what transpired between herself and the Alfa, Idowu said..

"It started in November, 2014 when Alfa Abdullahi called me and said I should always come to meet him if I needed anything since my dad was dead and my mum was unable to cater to all my needs. Later, he told me that he had seen a vision, adding that a man had placed an evil mark on me. He asked me to rinse my hand with cold water which he the put on the fire. When the water finally boiled and I brought it down, I saw two cowries and a ring in the water. Alfa said that was what the man put inside my body and he (Alfa) was the only man that could remove the evil mark from me. He said he must sleep with me three times, and that was how he slept with me. He said I must never tell anyone what happened between us and if I did, I would die just like my father did a few years back"

Idowu said a few days after her first encounter, Alfa called her to go and buy an egg which he instructed her to rub all over her body

"Then he said I should break it. I found seven needles in the egg. Alfa then said he would have to sleep with me seven times. I pleaded with him not to since he only recently slept with me three times, but he insisted on doing it, “she said

Idowu's mother who is a Fashion designer said it was one of her customers who informed her of the development. She confronted Alfa who reportedly beat her up for accusing him of such a crime. Men of the Isokoko Police Division in Agege were later invited and Alfa was arrested last Wednesday, March 11th.

However, a family member of the Alfa who spoke anonymously said the Alfa and Idowu were in a relationship and that she was only framing the Alfa

"The girl framed up the cleric.They have been sleeping with each other since last year.”he said

Meanwhile the Lagos state Police command spokesperson, Kenneth Nwosu while confirming the matter said the case would be called up in court today March 16th.

Western Region, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, has been
reported.
As indicated by the Tribune, the festival will hang on Friday
at the family church, Ikenne living arrangement of the
Awolowos, by 9.00 a.m.
Chief Awolowo, who was born on March 6, 1909, transited
to the great beyond on May 7, 1987.

thanksgiving service.

With the 2015 elections just around the corner, A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to include the Young Democratic Party (YDP) in lists of its duly registered political parties.

By implication, INEC would have to reprint new ballot papers for the elections which is just three weeks away.

Justice Ahmed Mohammed made the order in his judgment on the suit filed by the party, challenging its denial of registration by INEC.

The Chief of Army Staff, Kenneth Minimah, a lieutenant general, has guaranteed that more regions right now under the Boko Haram group would soon be caught and the war against dread won while likewise lauding the endeavors of Military powers from Chad, Niger and Cameroon.
He said that the successes recorded by the military in the last few days were as a result of joint operations between Nigerian forces and their Cameroon, Chad and Niger counterparts.

Mr. Minimah said this at the opening of a five-day seminar for the operational level officers of the Nigerian Army by the British Military Advisory ‎and Training Team held at Jaji Military Cantonment, Tuesday in Kaduna.

“At the end of the seminar, the Nigerian Army is expected to generate more capacity to gain more, recover more territories and it will help our army to perform better and be more professional,” he said.

“It is gratifying to note that our drive in retraining ‎in conjunction with the valued partnership is beginning to yield greater results. The ongoing counter-terrorists campaign in the North-East coupled with the awakening of Cameroon, Chad and Niger forces has boosted our successes leading to the liberation of more communities hitherto under siege of Boko Haram terrorists.”

Nigerian music star D’banj popularly known as KOKOMASTER is still in celebration mood with parties and concerts around the world celebrating his 10th year commemoration as an entertainer; however his alleged debt allegation crisis that seems to have died down has reared its ugly head up again....

In the last quarter of 2014, multiple media reports alleged that D’banj might be dragged to court by a top oil and gas industry player, Henry Ojogho, Vice Chairman of Broron Group. Ojogho, who is also the Vice Chairman of MindHub Technologies, an integrated Rice farming and milling production company, who alleged that D’banj, through his company, DKM Media Limited, obtained a loan of over N60m from him in January 2013 and has not paid back the said sum despite signing an undertaking to do so.

Following this allegation, the write of summons and other relevant documents in the suit was posted on D’Banj’s residence on Osaro Isokpan Street in Lekki Phase 1.

The pasting was done by the court bailiff on December 17, 2014 at about 1:35p.m, pursuant to order of court made on November 12, 2014 having been satisfied that the defendant was evading being served the notice.

Subsequently, the court case between the DB Records boss and Mindhub Technologies bearing suit number: LD/ADR/445/14 was scheduled to commence hearing on Monday, January 26, 2015 at the Multi-door Courthouse in Obalende, Lagos, but it was indefinitely postponed as a result of strike by the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) which paralysed activities and court rooms remain closed.

The strike was recently called off by the judicial workers, and immediately a new date was set for the court case. Speaking exclusive with NET, a source in the camp of the claimant’s camp said, ‘Yes, we are back to court, and we are aware that D’banj has secured the services of a lawyer as well who wants to file in some documents in his defense, but we are yet to receive the papers.

Meanwhile the case has been adjourned to March 30, 2015 at the Multi-door Courthouse in Obalende, Lagos. In January 2015, D’banj kicked off his 10th year anniversary celebrations in Lagos when he successfully brought in American twerk queen Amber Rose to host the kick-off party in Lagos.

In February he moved the party to South Africa where he was hosted at ‘Harlem’ and ‘Kong’ night clubs with a lot of celebrities in attendance. And just last week Thursday, February 27, 2015, D’banj headlined the Industry Night celebrations in Dubai as part of his 10th anniversary celebrations where he performed alongside Kenya’s Sauti Sol, Dubai’s G Mac and others....

ABUJA— Against the background of the large air bombardments and gunnery beating of Boko Haram terrorists in the North-East, military powers have issued a security ready cautioning of arrangements by the gathering to complete suicide bombings in a few parts of the nation.

The plot, it was gathered, is aimed at diverting attention from the epicentre of the terror war in North-East with the killing of unsuspecting members of the public in a soft target siege at such places like markets, recreation grounds, gardens and important national monuments.

Nigerian troops in collaboration with forces from neighbouring countries on the platform of the Multinational Joint Task Force, MJTF, have decimated most of the operational bases of Boko Haram terrorists while many of them have been killed.

In their bid to remain relevant and attract importance, the group has once again reverted to the use of suicide bombers in its evil campaign against Nigeria as witnessed in places like Kano, Jos, Yobe etc.

The security alert wants Nigerians to be vigilant and on the look-out for potential suicide bombers already brainwashed and probably drugged by the terrorists. Top intelligence sources insisted that Boko Haram members, in their desperation to escape the military onslaughts on their camps and their bid to retaliate such offensive, may have resorted to suicide bombings which was their hit-and-run tactic used mostly between 2012 and 2013.

This time around, however, the terrorists have been using children and teenagers especially females to perpetrate their nefarious activities on soft targets in some Northern states. “Their major mission is to attack soft targets like motor parks, schools, worship centres, markets among others for maximum casualty among the citizens,” a source said.

It was further gathered that some of the explosive devices used for suicide bombing were dynamite materials stolen from quarry industries within and outside the country. However, the collaboration against religious extremism forged by countries around the Lake Chad Basin has so far frustrated the insurgents that it is now difficult for them to strike in Nigeria and run to neighbouring countries who have sealed off their borders against the terrorists hence the resort to soft targets.

In the last two weeks, several towns and local governments in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa States, including the training facilities and logistic dumps of the insurgents have been reclaimed by Nigerians troops.

Reacting to the development, Directorate of State Services, DSS, in a statement issued at the weekend said: “It has become evident that following the successful, sustained air raids and intense combat operations by the military on insurgents’ positions in the North-East which had effectively degraded the capacity of the terrorists, its members are now in disarray and have resorted to taking out their anger on hapless civilians and soft targets.

“This development accounts for the recent spate of attacks recorded in Yobe, Kano, Borno and Plateau States with intent of distracting security forces. “Accordingly, this Service wishes to advice members of the public to be vigilant especially in crowded environment and when travelling. Commuters should desist from boarding unmarked vehicles along the road and only use designated motor parks.

“We also reiterate our call on motor park managers to ensure proper screening of vehicles, persons and luggage entering their premises. They should also look out for new faces who show up as drivers and conductors.”
