Dominic hummed and danced slowly with a glass of warm blood around the hallway. The music that came out of the stereo on his desk was slow and classic. On the seat lay a recently dead woman with teeth marks around her neck.
The door opened and Dahlia walked in. She stopped at the sight of the deceased woman on the chair and wrinkled her nose in disgust. Her attention shifted to her brother who was still in a world of his own. She shook her head and cleared her throat. Dominic turned around.
"Ah, sister!" He beamed, lowering the volume.
"Join me for a drink?" He offered his glass of blood to her and she frowned in response.
"Ah, I nearly forgot about your distaste for the real thing." He chuckled. "I must be overcome with blissful euphoria."
"And what has got you in high spirits, Dominic?" Dahlia asked, placing her hands on her hips. A signature pose Dominic had gotten used to.
"An occasion to celebrate." He smiled and sipped from the glass. "Half of the prophecy has been averted. One of the threat has been annihilation."
Dahlia's hands dropped from her hips in sheer amazement.
"You killed the boy?" Her eyes were wide.
"More or less." Dominic shrugged.
Dahlia shook her head grimly. Her face contorted as several emotions ran through her.
"Oh brighten up, little sister." Dominic scoffed and faced the window. "It's nearly over."
Dahlia stared at his back, a sick feeling in her heart.
'What if you're wrong?' She thought grimly.
'What if it's just the beginning?'

Jeremy stepped into the backyard of Mandy's house. He paused in his movements as he scrutinized the sight he met. Mandy, her parents, Gerard, Richard and his friends were gathered around something. No one had noticed his presence yet.
Since he had made that call earlier to Mandy, she had told him to stay home under her parents recommendation. But throughout his stay at home, he wasn't comfortable. Something felt wrong and he felt a constant lurch in his heart at intervals. His mum was not at home strangely and the presence of Shiela didn't help at all. He couldn't take it anymore and he left the house. Reaching Mandy's house and seeing the door wide open was a cuaset for worry.
And now, the absence of Kyle among the crowd increased his worry.
"Mandy?" He called out, his voice shaky.
His voice startled the small crowd and they turned around to acknowledge his presence. Jeremy spotted Mandy's bloodshot teary eyes and became suspicious.
"Jeremy, what are you doing here?" Richard asked.
Jeremy ignores him and walked towards the crowd.
"Where's Kyle?" He asked.
"Jeremy..." Gerard tried to block his view.
"Where's Kyle?" Jeremy's voice was now frantic.
Mandy's tear streaked eyes darted to the ground and Jeremy followed her gaze. He let out a low gasp. On the ground in the midst of the small crowd was a bundle covered in white sheet stained in blood. It was obviously human.
"No.." Jeremy choked, walking forward. "No..No.."
He bent down and lifted the sheet at the top. Kyle's peaceful face and closed eyes met his gaze.
Jeremy collapsed to his knees and the tears flowed freely. Mandy overwhelmed by the sight, dropped to her knees and wrapped her arms around him and the teenagers mourned their best friend.
"I warned him." The low voice of Jeremy could be heard hoarsely. "I warned him."
The rest of the crowd bowed their head in silence. The only thing heard in the yard was the occasional sobs of the two teens. Jeremy reached forward and placed the sheet over his deceased friend's face.
"Dominic will pay." His voice was uncharacteristically low and dangerous. "He will pay."
As he pulled his hands back, he suddenly felt his heart beat rapidly.
"What.." He gasped.
He felt another beat and then a third. This time, the third beat was felt behind him and he realised that Mandy had been resting on him. He turned around to see a look of shock in her eyes.
"You felt it too?" She wiped her eyes.
"Yeah." He blinked.
"It was you all along." Mandy's eyes widened in realisation.
"Mandy, what's going on?" Felicia asked worriedly.
Mandy stared at the ground, her arms still around Jeremy.
"I just felt the rapid heartbeat now, mum." Mandy replied and there was a gasp within the crowd.
"He felt it too." She nodded downwards at a still confused Jeremy. "Jeremy is my mate."
"But how?" Gabi frowned. "That would mean Jeremy is..."
A scream of pain cut him short as Jeremy clutched his head suddenly. He screamed again, shutting his eyes tight.
"Jeremy!" Mandy cried out, her brown eyes wide with worry.
She moved to his front as everyone gathered quickly around them. Jeremy groaed as his eyes remained shut in his kneeling position. His face remained contorted with pain.
"Jeremy." Mandy shook him. "Jeremy, come on."
With another yell of pain, Jeremy suddenly opened his eyes and everyone gasped. His scelera was black and his pupils were golden. He stared blankly at the rest of the crowd at their sucked expressions.
"He's a werewolf." Gabi's voice shook, his face as if in a trance.
"But I've never seen something like this before." Richard had now bent down beside Mandy to study Jeremy's face.
Jeremy suddenly winced as he felt a sharp pain at the side of his neck. Suddenly there was a glow on that spot on his neck to the further amazement of the crowd. When the glow faded, a mark was seen there.
"It's a tattoo." Mandy's eyes went wide. Everyone mirrored her expression as they saw it. It was that shape of two black crescent moons facing each other with a full moon in the middle.
"Jeremy!" Mandy gasped.
"You're the chosen Alpha!"
