PoliticsRe: Nigeria’s NNPC Continues Importing Petrol, Diesel Amid Dangote Refinery Surplus by OYEDIPE(m): 4:32pm On Nov 17, 2024
Eriokanmi:
I'd urge dangote to leave these thieves to continue to milk Nigerian masses who gullibly voted them in power. They deserve what they're getting. Dangote should consider exporting his products to other countries who are interested, hoping they'd not kill him with export duties.

Now I'm vindicated. The reason NNPCL stood as an intermediary was to block the masses from knowing the exact amount the petrol that was being imported and their subsidy scam. How can you be importing petrol when there's a glut in the Dangote refineries? This is a major reason no investors will ever come here. If they could be frustrating our own like this, then it's not safe to invest in Nigeria where an individual's interest supercedes that of a nation.

How can you own an oil company that imports petrol and still be minister of petroleum and the president of a nation same time? Sadly other tribes won't say tinubu is greedy and a bad leader, they'd definitely generalise it on all yorubas and that's my concern. He gives no hoots.
This is not a platform for political cheap points. We are discussing pure economy here.

How are we even sure dangote is refining a drop of PMS? For someone who took license to import PMS. I don’t see why PMS from hos refinery should be way higher than imported once.
This shows that your understanding on this issue is shallow.
Dangote is using Plait international pricing mechanism while NNPCL is mixing things in Malta. What is the basis for comparing price. Dangote can never beat your Science student NNPCL in pricing. You've been buying adulterated fuel all this while.

Have you asked how much they are selling bags of cement in Benin. An economy with lower buying power. Make your findings.

If we all had the same opportunities like Dangote, we will do worse. He is a business man. Leave him alone.

Even the IOCs with better comparative advantages, refused to build a single modular refinery.

I don’t think so . I think dangote is trying to hoodwink Nigerians the refinery is completed and then go through the back door and monopolize petroleum importation from marketers and force everyone to buy imported fuel as dangote refinery manufactured fuel. Dangote and his NNPC collaborators can never outsmart those guys. Mark it somewhere . They know the game or have you seen another source confirm dangote refinery is producing fuel apart from the videos he is releasing himself?
Your issue should not be about Dangote.

Why should he do that. Do you know what it takes for a business man to invest $25 billion dollar into this economy?

The past and present politicians are way more liquid than him. None of them could invest. They prefer to take our stolen money to outside the country to be kept.

It makes no sense, right, but if you talk about quality of the fuels, it should make bigger sense.
A bad fuel from Malta will always be cheaper than Dangote's. You know better. NNPLC is killing us small small.... And it must start from all their families.

Dangote should drastically reduce his price and watch importation of fuel die naturally. It makes no sense that locally refined petrol will be costlier than imported, to make matters worse government is not even coming out to make a clear policy statement. The NNPC that is the arm of the government can't be trusted.Today they say one thing, Tomo they go against it
You are right on this. But still, the pricing mechanism he is using is global. He will not like to do this.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria’s NNPC Continues Importing Petrol, Diesel Amid Dangote Refinery Surplus by OYEDIPE(m): 3:48pm On Nov 17, 2024
Richtaiwo:
Personally, I support this continued importation by NNPC. Dangote's body language appears to me like an unrepentant capitalist alway in a hurry to exploit every opportunity.

I lost hope in the expected succour from his refinery the day he started comparing prices of fuel in Saudi Arabia with Nigeria. Infact, I started losing trust in him when he made an outburst that he paid $100m for the land.

All these his remarks are pointers he is in business and nobody should expect manners from his refinery. Yes, he paid for the land and fuel prices in Saudi Arabia costs fortunes, but are they necessary remarks from him?

I'm beginning to nurse this feeling he is involved in all these so called uncertainties in the price of fuel. He should gerrout.
So your issue is with Dangote, not the effect on Fx base of the country. Fx that should be submitted to CBN to increase our reserve or to improve our Fx supply has been used to bring in this batch.

LPG cylinders are built for a working pressure of 7 bar and can withstand up to 30 bar of gas pressure. On the other hand, CNG cylinders are designed for much higher pressures, with a working pressure of up to 200 bar and the ability to withstand test pressures of 300 bar or more."

Unlike LPG cylinders, which can have welded joints or seams, CNG cylinders are seamless and do not have welded joints, making them more suitable for the high-pressure environment of CNG vehicles.

I urged all CNG refuelling stations to always conduct on-the-spot inspections to ensure that vehicles are equipped with approved conversion kits and labelled conversion centres.
The only thing they know is to blame the government for everything. They will not learn.

Why is the PMS only for NNPC? That means NNPC will be the middlemen here.
Something is not clear here
The PMS needs to go through NNPCL for subsidy to be added. The populace cannot buy it directly from Dangote.
