Manchester United manager, Louis van Gaal on Friday revealed his bold and ambitious plan to help the club dominate world football in the coming years.

Van Gaal who has help steered United to third spot on the league table despite a difficult start to the campaign stated that his target this term is to help the club secure Champions League qualification but revealed that the ultimate target is to help make the club the best in the world.

“My ambition is that I have the best players who can collaborate with each other to form the best team in the world,” Van Gaal said at a press conference on Friday.

The Dutch tactician also expressed delight at having most of his players available again after a long bout with injuries.

“I am very happy. We only have one player injured. That’s the first time that has happened in my career at Manchester United. I have to select the best team and watch the qualities of Southampton and hope I can reduce that quality by our line-up and our game plan,” he concluded.

Super Eagles forward, Brown Ideye is not having the best of times in England. The West Brom striker was recently named among top ten players that have underperformed after making a big money move in the summer.

Ideye is West Brom most expensive signing after the modest EPL side coughed out £10 million to sign the Nigerian international last summer.

However, after upon arriving in England from Ukraine, the forward has struggled for form scoring just two goals in 13 appearances in all competitions.

His poor start to life in England has earned him a place in the least of ten players that have underperformed since moving to their various new clubs in the summer.

Golden Eaglets Coach, Emmanuel Amunike had his job cut out for him on Sunday and Monday after more than 600 youngsters storm the team’s open camp in Abuja.

The former Super Eagles winger had decided to give new players a trial ahead of the team’s participation in the African cadet championship scheduled to hold in Niger Republic in 2015.

However, the turnout of players exceeded the expectation of the coach but he expressed delight at the enthusiasm shown by those that came for the screening exercise stating that the country is indeed blessed with budding football talents.

“It is good we are starting right away and today’s session has been very good because it gave us the opportunity to see some equally young talents. We knew all along that it is not going to be easy but hard work doesn’t kill anybody and I’m positive that the screening would throw up some fresh talents for the team,” Amunike said.

The screening exercise will continue for the rest of the week. The Golden Eaglets currently hold the FIFA U-17 title following the team’s heroics at the world cadet championship in the UAE in 2013.

Real Madrid on Tuesday evening beat Cruz Azul in the FIFA Club World Cup to reach the final which will be played on 20th of December, 2014. The match ended Real Madrid 4-0 Cruz Azul.

It took a president of Vincent Labrune plea before Ghana International, Andre Ayew put signed one-year contract extension with Marseille to end speculations surrounding his future at the club.

The 24-year-old has had his eyes on a potential move away from Olympic Marseille at the summer and this has led to speculations that he is bound for England or Italy with clubs like Arsenal, Liverpool, and AC Milan said to be interested in his services.

However, the club President who is a huge fan of the 2010/11 Marseille Best Player of the season has called on the lad to stay with the club.
‘It’s true I have agreed a new one-year deal. President Vincent Labrune called me and asked me to stay,’ Andre Ayew told L’Equipe.

It will be good news for the fans of Olympic Marseille to see the player continue the legacy of his father, Abedi Pele, who also played for the French side.

Speaking to some reporters early in the year, Ayew said: “The club have made it clear if they receive a good offer they will listen to that, but I will not go just to please the club, I will go to a club that want to win trophies,” he said.

“But now I want to finish the season well with Marseille and qualify for the Champions League.”

Marseille are currently top of the French Ligue 1 with 38 points after 18matches this season.

French international Thierry Henry has announced his retirement form football.

Henry lifted more than 35 major individual and team trophies in his playing career, including the World Cup and European Championship for France, the Champions League and La Liga with Barcelona, the Premier League and FA Cup at Arsenal, the French League at Monaco and the MLS Shield with the New York Red Bulls.

Henry won at least a trophy in all the clubs he featured, apart from Juventus, where he had a brief spell from 1998-1999 before departure to Arsenal.

He was twice winner of the European Golden boot, four times winner of the English Premier League Golden Boot, five times winner of the French Player of the Year, three-time winner of the Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year at Arsenal and twice winner of the PFA Players’ Player of the Year.

‘After 20 years in the game I have decided to retire from professional football. It has been an incredible journey and I would like to thank all the fans, team mates and individuals involved with AS Monaco, Juventus, Arsenal FC, FC Barcelona, the New York Red Bulls and of course the French National Team that have made my time in the game so special.’

La Liga outfit, Granada is determined to keep hold of young Nigerian prodigy Isaac Success after he was invited to the under-23 squad by manager Samson Siasia.

The club’s position was made known through their Sporting Director, Juan Carlos Cordero who informed that the player will not be allowed to join the Nigerian camp as the club expects him to stay with them until Christmas.

Cordero even hinted that the player will not be allowed to participate in next year’s U-20 African Youth Championships as it is not deemed a FIFA organized event.

”Isaac Success will remain with Granada until the holidays. Yes, he will not travel to Nigeria,” he revealed.

”He will not be allowed to attend the African Youth Championship since it’s outside the FIFA calender.”

However, in a related development, Success’ representative in Nigeria, Dominic Egbukwu insists that the player will not miss camp as suggested by the Sporting Director of the Spanish outfit.

”Granada has not received any letter of invitation from the Nigeria Football Federation,” he told sl10.ng.

”Success will leave Spain for Nigeria on the 21st of December for the Christmas break.

”And he has only six days to spend in Nigeria before returning to Spain.

Success scored his first goal of the current season for Granada against Valencia as they played out a 1-1 draw at the weekend.
