Saw some negative reviews about Growatt inverters packing up within few years and choose to ask

I will appreciate a candid advice

Please do not bother about 48v battery. I told you already 24v would do it especially since your budget wouldn't even allow 48v.

I only asked you check for 5kwh and 8kwh all 24v.

24v 178ah Eve (4.5kwh) 660/670k with (100/200a BMS)

24v 314ah REPT (8KWH) 980k with 200A BMS

Going by the above prices from mrReed, you decide if to go with the one of 980k or the one of 670k. Feel free to contact @mrReed and try negotiating with him for the one of 980k and should He agree with something lesser, don't share it in here, just keep it in your mind. No need asking for wooden body as he doesn't have for such capacity.

Now kindly contact both mrReed and Valto and ask for their prices for 24v 8kwh and 5kwh batteries. Also ask the prices of those that have communication support and those that doesn't.

That way, we expect you report back with about 4 prices or maybe even 5 or 6 different prices if we're to consider those with wooden body.

Kindly notify us when you done with that EXCEPT you already have a prefered alternate sources. Except I am buying batteries, me no dey too like recommend.

We need know that price first before going any further.

I reached out to Valto yesterday and he does not have 5kwh. He has 24v/4.5kwh @ 720k and 48v/7.68kwh @ 1.2m.

I have also checked on Fouani site and found out that 5kwh (Deye, Pylontech, Growatt, Hisense range between 1.1m to 1.2m

Bros, let me be honest with you, first your budget is very very slim EXCEPT You are willing to use a combination of NEW + USEd items.

Secondly, Abeg clarify which load is used more during the day vs at Night e.g 55" Tv (Non Smart) 14 Hrs (3-hours during the day and 11-hours at Night)

That would be much more helpful

Secondly, you really don't have much heavy loads BUT still care needs be taken. For battery, A lithium battery of 8kwh should be much better OR you do used Tubular batteries (Love to give people options)

Yea 24v system would work. Would have suggested 48v system BUT that would proportionally affect cost of battery so yea let's leave it at 24v system.

Also by default, the pumping machine should ever only be used during the day when the sun is working full time.

Knowing if your load usage patterns is more Day or Night time would help decide if the battery is enough or needs be increased.

and please no dey blow grammar such as "(From 9am to sunset)", it forces some of us wey go backYard college to first pause, try to make sense of itss actual meaning before continuing.

The TV is used from 10am upto 10pm. The stated loads apart from light are basically used throughout the day as this are parents that are

always home. Though good management can also be adopted.

1. I plan for a 5kwh Lithium Battery and what Brand?

2. Do I use 24v or 48v Inverter and which good brand?

3. Should I use (inverter + MPPT) or Hybrid inverter? Transformer or Transformerless?

4. How many panels and what brands/capacity

My budget is 2 million, but can slightly be reviewed and not more than 250k

Your usual advice will highly be appreciated

@Pabodo, you've gotten a good enough response BUT still let me chip in some.

Chances are, this person might not wanna go 48v possibly due to financial constraints BUT I would point out if He/She decides to buy any growatt inverter, especially those around 3kva/3.5kva, they should be careful as there are those that really can't be paneled in series much. Just 2pcs of anything above 550w in series is already too much for them hence you would be forced to combine Series + parallel configurations.

Also a 24v 5kwh (about 205AH) or 48v 5kwh (about 105AH) battery appears excessively small to me except mayBe the load really is small both now and in nearest future. For such battery capacity, no need going for the likes of DeYe, or Deriy; Just buy from the likes of mrReed and Valto.

As for solar panels, if buying brand new (with recent prices, I now default to recommending brand new), I often suggest between 620w to max 630w. Buying anything less than 600w seems to me a waste of money.

As per whether to buy Hybrid inverter vs standAlone inverter + external charge controller, going by the very limited budget, would suggest buying a good Hybrid (All-in-One) inverter though I often prefer the standAlone inverters.

Also when buying lithium based batteries, they should try to buy those that comes with communication cable as some inverters misbehaves or makes life somewhat difficult when trying to configure the battery in a dumb manner

Your 1.5hp non-inverter AC may pull more than 3kw at startup, so any setup you build should be a 48v one like Mrreed said.

1. This depends on your budget. 17kwh is a good start.
2. 6kw is fine, just be sure to get something from a good brand that actually delivers rated capacity. I recommend Deye, SRNE, or Growatt.
3. 12 ~600w panels should be fine.

2. What Premium or Medium grade inverter/size can you recommend
3. How many panel

For the lithium battery bank, which is advisable?

1. Buy already coupled bank from China or
2. Buy the cells/materials from China and find who couples it in Nigeria ( Store on Alibaba is Docan Technology or any other recommended).

Finally I will do my review and MAKE SURE I get someone from this group to install which will be my contribution
