Job Location Abuja. Duration We are looking for a committed professional who is looking to build a career in advocacy and can commit to at least 3-5 years of service. Organization Description KRSD was established in memory of Kwapda’as Rangna’an Samson Dongban who was killed in a road traffic crash in Jos on the 23rd of September 2011. KRSD is committed to sensitizing people on road safety and good road user behaviour in Nigeria. Incidence of road crashes on Nigerian highways is indeed a concern for the entire nation and the world at large. We have therefore taken it upon ourselves to champion the campaign for better road usage and an improved rescue system. KRSD, in conjunction with FRSC and other stakeholders has contributed significantly to the campaign for road safety in Nigeria. With the slogan: Keep Roads Safe Demand (KRSD), the trust fund engages in activities that sensitize people and persuades them to adopt a humane attitude of responsibility and sensibility to the needs of victims of road mishap. We have laser-like focus on creating a humane attitude and consciousness to better lives for the people we serve. Job Description The Program coordinator is responsible for overall coordination and implementation of KRSD road safety initiatives. The Program Coordinator will have experience in managing any team and will have capacity to deal well with our current partner organizations both locally and internationally. Following is a brief description of the job roles and responsibilities • Support planning and coordination of KRSD programs and activities. • Ensure implementation of policies and practices as instructed by the Board of Trustees. • Maintain budget and track expenditures and donations. • Manage communications through media relations, social media etc. • Help build positive relations within the team and external parties. • Increase collaboration with other local and international donors. • Schedule and organize meetings/events and maintain agenda • Keep updated records and create reports or proposals • Support growth and program development. • Reports on a regular basis to all partner organizations and the Board of Trustees about the progress of the NGO. Essential requirements • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field. • A demonstrated long-term passion for social development • 3 years relevant work experience. • Leadership experience at work, or outside of work. • Experience in Non-Governmental Organization work will be desirable. • Familiarity with grant and proposal writing towards fund raising from donor NGO’s and individuals. Interpersonal and Social Skills required: • Proven people management and leadership skills in a multi-cultural environment and with a strong track record of developing people. • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and good negotiation skills. • Person of integrity. • Creative thinker, team player and self-motivated person. • Passion for promoting safer roads and keying into the United Nations Decade of action for Road Safety and the Sustainable Development Goal 3.0. • Ability to work and perform under pressure. • Willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally. • Ability to communicate in English language, both oral and written (e.g. proposal writing) including public speaking. • Basic understanding of electronic communications and standard operation of computer software. • A sense of humour. The Program Coordinator will have experience in managing any team and will have capacity to deal well with trainers and partner organizations. Following is a brief description of role of this position: • Works with the partner organizations to develop KRSD training programs and calendar. • Effectively manages program partners and key stakeholders to accomplish the project objectives. • Manages registrations - online, email, phone. • Liaises with attendees for queries and support. • Coordinates engagement of trainers, organizes trainer allocation and supports the trainers for their training requirements. • Maintains training data, tracks completion and processes communication and certification to recipients. • Coordinates training sessions – venue, training materials etc. • Collects, compiles and reports results of evaluation, attendance and training data. • Reports on a regular basis to all partner organizations and the Advisory Committee about the progress of the project. Essential requirements • A degree in any field with a passion for management. • A demonstrated long-term passion for social development • 2 years relevant work experience. • Leadership experience at work, or outside of work. • Experience in managing trainings will be desirable • Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills. • Self motivated individual. • Ability to work effectively in teams as well as independently. • Ability to multitask. • Ability and willingness to travel. • A sense of humor.
