The earth doesn't pull anything down. It goes slightly up to whatever goes up. The earth is in a tremendous speed as you stated and it's that speed that keeps it in orbit. If anything on earth goes up, the earth moves and meets the object. That's gravity.

I have to make this clarification because we were erroneously taught in school that the earth is like a giant magnet that pulls everything down.

Don't know where you got that, but I know you ought to take that reasoning back.. The earth doesn't pull us; right.. We get pushed to the earth by ether.
Ether shielding is what causes us to feel gravity. It is ether shielding that allows UFOS to fly like they had no weight. It is Ether shielding that allows magnetic levitation vehicles to levitate and fly..
Here's the picture: When you have yourself, standing on the surface of the earth. Ether presses on you from all 3 dimensions of space. It doesn't press under your feet because the ground on which you stand on, shields the Ether in space from pressing under your feet. However, the ether force pressing on both sides and all round your body cancels out each other (newtons third law). But the Ether force pressing on your head, has no counteracting Ether force pressing on your feet. Eventually, the force pushing on your head plays the lead. And you get pushed towards the earth, even when you try to jump up.
So there you have it in a nutshell; Ether pushing us to the earth, and we, calling her 'gravity'.

The battery is 1/2 finger battery. The specification is Lithium 3.6V. All the ones I have seen are 3.0V and it's bigger than the battery space of the apparatus I need it for.

I think I have such a battery. It came off a little radio control helicopter. And the size fits your specification. But mine might be slightly smaller than yours in size.

You can charge a laptop with the battery directly without plugging to inverter/ups using a boost converter to boost it to 19v 3a. You can throw some electronic components together to achieve that. However, charging a laptop with the battery directly without plugging to inverter/ups, is much more efficient, than plugging into an inverter/ups.
This is due to the fact that the power conversion goes through two stages: converting from 12v battery to 220vac, then conversion from 220vac down to 19vdc. This has come to be a necessary devil. And each conversion wastes some amount of usable power from the main source (the battery).
So you see that its quite wise to just do a single STEPUP conversion to save some power; that is if it's in your ability to do. But if not, then stick with the necessary devil.

The phone is hell, in terms of installing many apps.. They certainly tend to slow the phone down, then hangs and bring it to an abrupt standstill when you try to run different apps.
