Phones › Re: Why Are Phone Repairs In Nigeria Almost More Expensive Than Buying New? by ParadoxWrites(m): 8:09am On Sep 28, 2025 |
Thomasdike: I feel like manufacturers are part of the problem. Phones today are glued shut and require proprietary tools, making it impossible for the average person to do a simple fix. This is a deliberate strategy to force us to buy new phones. They talk about sustainability, but they are the biggest culprits of electronic waste. In a country like Nigeria where affordability is a huge factor, this practice is particularly cruel. I'd love to see a "right to repair" law implemented here. You no lie, fully modular phones will go a long way in Nigeria not all these soldered or glued stuff |

StellaGirlie: Exactly. Even when you’re ready to pay, finding legit parts is like treasure hunting. I wonder why supply is so limited. Import prices and the likes |

Depends on the component that get spoiled , some are not worth repairing. But if it's just normal non critical or easily fixed components. As long as you can get a good place to fix it , go ahead |

Azazyel: Helio G92 max is low end. I have schooled your friend up there. You can read through and if you believe it is not not a low end chipset, bring forth your evidence and let's finish it here. Any chipset that doesn't use at least cortex A76 architecture is still low end Don't be averse to learning man. Helio G99 is the next step up after G92 max. Check the antutu score and rate where it stands in a list of almost 119 processors ranked before you just speak. You do know maths right

Phones › Re: Beyond Specs: What Do Phone Brands Really Need To Fix? by ParadoxWrites(m): 9:40pm On Aug 24, 2025 |
StellaGirlie: Facts. iPhones stay smooth for years, and that’s why people stick with them despite the price. Android brands really need to figure out long-term performance, not just first-year speed. You are commiting a fallacy of hasty generalization, have you heard of the word flagships. Why do you think that there are some android phones that last as long and better than iPhones. All iPhones by default are flagship grade , you really expect a phone less than a sixth of the price to last as long |
