StarBarbiee:It plays less taxing game okay... But not certainly built for heavy gaming... Get a gaming device in case you want to game heavily |
Kim4Christ:Noted 🙂 |
TemmyLyn:You are welcome |
Awesome review there. How does it measure against other devices in it's price segment |
Iamajoke:But I think it will come with a slight increase in the price of the device |
Our Last post ( https://www.nairaland.com/8303995/realme-note-50-review ) a lot of users were asking which is better between realme note 50 and C61, while we cant dictate choices for you. I can surely help you by breaking each devices down to enable you make a better decision. Let's dive into the review! Camera The realme C61 features a 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, accompanied by a 0.08MP auxiliary lens. The camera app offers various modes, including Photo, Video, Portrait, Night, Pro, Time-lapse, and Panorama. In daylight conditions, the 50MP camera captures images with strong contrast, vibrant colors, and impressive sharpness, rivaling higher-priced smartphones. However, Night mode enhances image quality by improving sharpness, detail, and contrast while minimizing noise, all while preserving color accuracy. Overall, the rear camera delivers commendable performance across various lighting conditions, with Night mode recommended for optimal results in low-light environments. Multimedia Experience The realme C61 boasts a 6.74-inch 90Hz Eye Comfort Display with a resolution of 1600x720 pixels, with the screen offering vibrant colors and clear text, remaining readable under direct sunlight. The 90Hz refresh rate ensures smooth visuals, enhancing both daily use and gaming experiences. The device includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, a single bottom-firing speaker, and a microphone , at maximum volume, the speaker is adequate for small rooms but may struggle in noisier environments. The microphone effectively captures sound from a reasonable distance, ensuring clear call quality. Performance Powered by the UNISOC T612 octa-core processor and Mali-G57 GPU, the realme C61 handles everyday tasks such as browsing, social media, and app navigation with ease, while it manages casual gaming well, more demanding games may experience occasional slowdowns. The device offers up to 6GB of RAM, with an additional 12GB of dynamic RAM expansion, and up to 256GB of internal storage, providing ample space for apps and media. For security, the realme C61 features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and face unlock, both of which are responsive and reliable under typical conditions. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, OTG, GPS, and dual nano-SIM support, ensuring comprehensive connectivity for various needs. And no it doesn’t have NFC (come on it’s a phone under 100$) The 5,000mAh battery impresses with its longevity, comfortably lasting through a full day of intensive use and it supports 15W fast charging via USB-C, replenishing the battery to 100% in approximately 2 hours. Software Running on Android 14 with realme UI, the C61 provides a user-friendly interface with customization options. Users familiar with realme UI will appreciate the consistent experience, while newcomers may find it intuitive and straightforward. Pros: - Affordable price - Eye-catching design - Lightweight and solid build - Long-lasting battery life - Impressive camera performance for the price - 90Hz HD+ display Cons: - Charging time could be faster - Not ideal for intensive gaming (especially battle royale and MOBA) Specifications - Display: 6.74-inch LCD (IPS), 90Hz refresh rate, HD+ 1600 x 720 pixels - CPU: UNISOC T612 octa-core processor - GPU: Mali-G57 - RAM: Up to 6GB + 12GB Dynamic RAM Expansion - Storage: Up to 256GB, expandable via microSD card - Rear Camera: 50MP main sensor (f/1. + 0.08MP auxiliary lens- Selfie Camera: 5MP - Battery: 5,000mAh with 15W fast charging - OS: Android 14 with realme UI - Connectivity: Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, OTG, GPS, dual SIM (nano) - Sensors: Accelerometer, light, orientation, proximity, gyroscope - Other Features: Side-mounted fingerprint sensor, IP54 water and dust resistance, USB-C - Colors: Sparkle Gold, Dark Green - Dimensions: 167.3 x 76.7 x 7.8 mm (6.59 x 3.02 x 0.31 in) - Weight: 188g - Price: #145,000 - #185,000, depending on configuration Final Thoughts The realme C61 stands out as a compelling choice in the entry-level smartphone market. debopeola:its not up to that amount ... the most espensive variant is around 135-140k depending on where you get it |
Olavincentus:dont panic.... first of all did you update your phone fully or partially ... because i know most brands have app vault or a version of it that is from the phone... just confirm on redmi forum if theirs is the same as yours |
DuttyChuks:realme is different from transsion... and also realme came into nigeria catering for the low priced budget range... you wan buy galaxy with 150k ![]() |
Realme came into Naija with a lot of flair ... i do hope the bring some midrange and flagships device officially to the country this year... budget smartphones only cater to a particular set |
Afamsi:how budget is the budget... check realme Note 50 starting at 116k-135k realme C61 145-185k range |
that is a very tight budget ooooo. the one i wanted to recommend is just a bit above that price and the camera is good . check out camera reviews on realme C61 |
Iamajoke:We all do... But I guess it's one of the tradeoffs but not really one(you can easily get a charging brick to up the speed even if it's only up to 18W) |
Olamideee21:Yes it was... |
Jesutooni:The camera is superb |
Our Last post (https://www.nairaland.com/8299156/lets-talk-it-phones) a lot of users were asking which is better between realme note 50 and C61, while we cant dictate choices for you. I can surely help you by breaking each devices down to enable you make a better decision. Let's dive into the review! Camera The realme Note 50 is equipped with a 13MP f/2.2 main camera, complemented by a black-and-white camera and an LED flash. The stock camera app offers modes such as Photo, Video, Portrait, Night, Pro, Time-lapse, Pano, and QR code scanning. The Pro mode provides advanced controls for ISO (100-1600), Shutter Speed (1/60-1/1000 sec), EV (+-3), Focus, and White Balance. In daylight, the 13MP primary camera delivers impressive results. The contrast is strong, colors are vibrant, and the sharpness and detail are comparable to more expensive smartphones. The same quality is noticeable in indoor shots, although highlights in bright areas can be slightly overexposed. Low light performance shows more noise and less sharpness. However, what stands out is the camera’s ability to retain color accuracy despite the grain. Night mode significantly improves sharpness, detail, and contrast, while reducing noise, particularly in the shadow areas, without compromising color fidelity. Overall, the rear camera performs well in most conditions, though low light can be challenging. We recommend using Night mode for low-light shots, especially when the subject is still. Check for pictures below Multimedia Experience The display is suitably bright for the phone’s price range. While it’s not the brightest on the market, it remains readable under direct sunlight. Colors are vibrant, and text is clear and sharp. The 10-point multitouch support is a highlight, making it perfect for gaming and complex gestures—especially when compared to other mid-range phones with only 5-point multitouch. The notch at the top houses the front camera, and the slim earpiece is tucked away within the top bezel. The chin bezel, however, is slightly thicker than the rest. For audio, the realme Note 50 features a 3.5mm headphone jack, a single bottom-firing speaker, and a microphone. At full volume, the speaker is sufficient for a small room but struggles in louder environments. To avoid distortion, we recommend reducing the volume to around 80%. The sound stage is narrow, and while clarity is decent, it could be improved. The microphones perform well, picking up sounds from about a meter away, and the noise cancellation for calls is adequate. Performance Here are the realme Note 50's benchmark scores: AnTuTu: 246,329 Geekbench 6: 423 (single-core), 1,507 (multi-core) 3D Mark WildLife: 425 with an average of 2.55 fps CPDT: 198.15 MB/s (sequential read), 148.08 MB/s (sequential write) The Note 50's benchmark results are impressive for a budget phone, offering performance that's competitive with other devices in its price range. In everyday use, the phone handles basic tasks like browsing, social media, and app navigation with ease. However, it struggles with more demanding games and high-performance apps. For security, it features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and face unlock, both of which work swiftly and reliably, provided the camera is clean and you’re not wearing sunglasses or a mask. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, OTG, GPS, and dual nano SIM support. The realme Note 50 is powered by a 5,000mAh battery, which impresses in terms of longevity. During a PCMark battery test, it lasted an outstanding 15 hours. In daily use, even with heavy 4G, LTE, and Wi-Fi usage, the battery still had 40% remaining by the end of the day. Charging via USB-C with the 10W wall charger takes under 2 hours to fully charge the device. "STRONG BATTERY performance regardless of price!" Software If you didn’t enjoy the previous version of realme UI, this one might not change your mind. However, fans of the UI will likely enjoy the experience, as it offers a familiar and smooth interface. Pros: - Affordable price - Eye-catching design - Lightweight and solid build - Long-lasting battery - Good camera performance for the price - 90Hz HD+ display Cons: - 2-hour charging time - Not suitable for intense gaming Specifications - Display: 6.74-inch LCD (IPS), 90Hz refresh rate, 180Hz touch sampling rate, HD+ 1600 x 720 resolution (260 ppi) - CPU: 1.82GHz 12nm UNISOC T612 octa-core processor - GPU: Mali-G57 - RAM: 4GB - Storage: 64GB, expandable via microSD card (up to 2TB) - Rear Camera: 13MP with AF, B&W, and LED flash - Selfie Camera: 5MP - Battery: 5,000mAh with 10W charging - OS: Android 13 with realme UI T Edition - Connectivity: Wi-Fi (2.4GHz/5GHz), 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, OTG, GPS, dual SIM (nano) - Sensors: Accelerometer, light, orientation, proximity, gyroscope, sound, magnetic - Other Features: Side-mounted fingerprint sensor, IP54 water and dust resistance, USB-C - Colors: Midnight Black, Sky Blue - Dimensions: 167.7 x 76.67 x 7.99 mm - Weight: 186g - Price: #117k - #135k depending on RAM Final Thoughts The realme Note 50 stands out as one of the best entry-level smartphones in its category. With standout features like a 90Hz display, a long-lasting 5,000mAh battery, and a solid main camera, it offers exceptional value for the price. My Ratings: - Build/Design: 4.5/5 (for a budget device) - Multimedia Experience: 4.0/5 - Cameras: 3.5/5 - Performance: 4.0/5 - Average Rating: 4.0/5 What do you think, guys?
