HeavenlyBang: Power is not power when it comes to inductive load. It's because you're using inverter AC. You can go lookup on batteryless setup on YouTube, you will see AC doesn't want to power with 10A Pv and 400V until the guy had to add another array to increase current. 1 Like |

mctfopt: 11A panel cannot give u 11A consider losses. Just do the two parallel end up getting near 18 to 19A. U guys that are doing this high voltage series should give us feedback with inductive loads...how many Ac's were they able to power without battery during the day with 11 to 13A PV or more. |

kwende: Depends on your load. Mostly 5 to 6kw inverter. Next question should be choosing between transformer based inverter or chopper based? Cause 5M no b small money, @bassdow @bigbrovar and other experts make una pls come give expert advice. Anyone with experience with transformerless using iron and AC for like 2yrs no issues.... |

Swagifted: omo if our export no overshadow our imports nothing wey fit happen o.... And if the general public no MASSIVELY consume goods and services that are made in Nigeria nothing better go still come out... The story long but that's for another day. DSTV don increase money still no Nigerian competitor.. It is well. ......…................. TechGeek777 I got the mail and I was like what grin grin grin People are now porting to MetroDigital SLTV It's well with us .......................... @Swaggifted, you know the problem no be about import as some ppl dey shout import import. Do you know the rate of China import and export na almost the same thing. No person can become an island of it's own. How will person say him no need help from other people and nations. God wey create us in nations and varieties, languages know the reason why. So we can all depend on each other. But here we are some people blaming imports. The problem we get for Nigeria na 'primitive accumulation of wealth' one person go one loot a whole nation dry & 'vested interest'. For every problem there are ppl benefiting. Them get people that will fight to death make import dey sniffled as e dey now...cause them dey cash out. A perfect economy should be an economy that encourages competition in markets not stifle it. If u feel people are patronising imports then improve your home grown solutions not block it. Archaic policies. Make I know bore una sha, cause this one na solar thread not politics. But Buhari did us dirty & Tinubu just want to be copying this White guys style of capitalism whereby the nation isn't ripe for such policies. In all, I put the blame on Buhari! Nigeria get long term fix and short term fix. As a matter of urgency( short term fix): 1. open the border like LovePeddler all those products dey ban dey should unban them cause some ppl be cashing out from the restriction of imports. 2. We should be able to purchase dollar directly from bank not proxy 3. Bring back the fuel subsidy & subsidies in other sectors as well. 4. Export should be encouraged cause exporters dey complain also say dem dey face wahala. 5. Food inflation, they should fight the bandits cause many farmers are displaced( insecurity). A total ban on miners cause dem get northern cabals cashing out from it thereby constituting insecurities in some pivotal agri-states like Niger, Benue etc. Like anywhere there's mining there's insecurity. All these things started when Buhari enter office. If them do this everything go normal again at least for a while. |

bassdow:True talk. Because with proliferation of solar like this, especially all this high V PV's installations for residential homes, he good make installers and users as well know the dangers. Proper cabling etc, to avoid story that touch |

Drgreatone:that hybrid high pv sef dey fear me! Like whooping 500V to 400V for person house. Which is even more severe in electrocution between a 220ac and 400v DC. And another thing have been thinking about, betwn a 200v/20A and a 400v/10A source which would cause more damage? I still feel for homes make PV array dey around 100 to 150 range for safety. Just my thought sha! |

Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Parser: 3:33pm On Apr 17 |
Mavor:yeah, you can put a power source into your wall socket at home. Just ensure their is no mains(grid). My area no Nepa. NEPA is disconnected. |
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Parser: 3:32pm On Apr 17 |
Drgreatone:bro that current is small. Don't waste your money on cc. Just add one more panel. Take the pain to do 2 series// 2 parallel ( 37*2volts and 9*2amps). If not that sometimes the sun might not be strong, and the 37v panel might not dissipate enough volts to charge the 12v..i'd have advice going all parallel on the four panels so you can have 9*4 amps. |
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Parser: 3:23pm On Apr 17 |
@mavor In my area no light for like a year. So I didn't even stress myself, I just connected the output of the box directly into the wallsocket. Powers ox fan like mad, 2 laptops, my redmi phone 70watts chargeer, TV...lighting points, I just need to add two more panels or 3 so I can have enough current to use while the li battery charge, cause the battery dey deplete on load, meaning not enough array. To think I spent 300k for the setup then.

Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Parser: 3:18pm On Apr 17 |
Mavor:ok let me take some pix..very simple setup. Two 150w felicity 12V panels on the roof facing south ward connected in parallel to the powerbox. I didn't even bother to put any breaker. A 1kwh li battery so they say. We all know u can't get 1kw on a 1kw inverter. |
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Parser: 3:06pm On Apr 17 |
Drgreatone:why not connect in parallel to get more current. And you haven't told us the current that each of the panel generate. A 37V panel should be able to charge a 12v system. U need to give more details of inverter specs and also the current of the panel. And hope Ur array are facing south or southwest. Or do two panels in parallel(to boost current)+ 1 panel in series...I forgot sef, still the same shit, the solar array will go with the least current..so maybe, just parallel everything. |
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Parser: 2:47pm On Apr 17 |
Mavor:Check my previous post. I'm currently using 1KW system. But you have to add like 2 to 3 more panels 45k*3 (12v/150watts) again to enjoy cause I'm on two panels. So far has been great. Their site, powerbox.com.ng 1 Share

Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Parser: 8:34am On Mar 14 |
adibo:Yes. From 8 to 6pm but advisable to get at least a small battery backup, say 1kwh. But you have to over panel it. Cause most of the energy would be coming from the panel. Like if you have a 3.5kwh inverter & Ur load is 1kwh, you could use between a 1.5-2kwh array or more if your budget can allow. Advisable to get the datasheet of the hybrid inverter so you know how you would properly configure it with the solar- taking input voltage and current & power--- series connection. Second, you put a DC breaker btwn the array and inverter and transient protector between the inverter and NEPA( u know how NEPA light dey fluctuate) or don't even use Nepa at all and earthening of the inverter or a thunder arrestor on the array. E.g. If inverter can take array of 500V input, current say 80A and you have each of your array can dissipate 42V, 13A. You have a load of 2Kw. You can use a 4 to 6kw array by connecting your array in series to give like 420v at 13A around 5kw in a perfect scenario ignoring loses. And use a DC breaker that can take 500V and the current. jasp12: Why not go for a 3.5KW SMS sunmate hybrid inverter. Probably with a 2Kwh battery bank. And and let's say a 1.5KW or 2Kw solar array. Might be best value for money as you can expand. Other perks: DC breaker, transient protector. The hybrid inverter comes with it's cc. Cost around 350K. Like play like play 850 don go, except prolly u go do without battery...just dey flex am for day time. Keep in mind, it is better to do DIY that you can easily expand on without selling parts. Open to corrections. All the best. |
