EducationHow To Stay Awake And Focussed In A Boring Class by passnownow(op): 2:17pm On Jun 14, 2013
Today, the teacher called on you twice when you were daydreaming and you didn’t know the answer. Do it again and you’ll be in big trouble! Although some people say if you find a class boring, it must be that you have problem concentrating, and that the fault is from you. I rather find this assumption really wrong and unfair generalisation of issues. Granted, sometimes, one might be saturated with other thoughts, making whatever the teacher’s saying meaningless. Consider other times, however, that the more you try to grasp what the teacher is teaching, the more confused you become. One even wonders how some of these so-called teachers made it to the classroom.

How are you going to survive if you can’t switch classes? You’re stuck the whole year in the MOST BORING CLASS! Well, here are some tips to help you out, and still make the best out of the sleep-inducing class. Read up here: https://passnownow.com/pnnblog/how-to-stay-awake-and-focused-in-a-boring-class/

Education13-year-old Indian Girl In UK Stuns The World With IQ Higher Than Einstein’s! by passnownow(op): 4:56pm On Jun 11, 2013
A 13-year-old Indian girl Neha Ramu astonished the world after she scored an incredible 162 on a Mensa IQ test in the UK.

The highest score possible for someone under 18 years of age, this led a spokesperson for British Mensa to say, “This puts her within the top 1 per cent of brightest people in the country.”
Neha Ramu was born on May 8, 2000 in Bangalore to mother Jayashree and father Ramu Muniraju – both doctors in ophthalmology. They moved to the UK in 2007, and she joined Westbourne Primary School in Sutton.

Experts believe that the achievement means Neha Ramu is in the same league of outstanding minds such as scientist Albert Einstein and physicist Stephen Hawking.

Ramu is now part of the elite group called the Mensa society, an exclusive club for people with high IQs. The IQ test is designed to evaluate a range of abilities to determine the intelligence level of the student.

A seventh grade student at Tiffin Girls School, Kingston upon Thames in Greater London, Ramu’s Mensa score was the latest in a series of high achieving performances. Crediting her doctor parents, she says: “They find amazing opportunities for me, which allow me to stretch myself and take my knowledge further without stressing myself out.”

For instance, in 2010, Ramu became an online member of Johns Hopkins’ Centre for Talented Youth (CTY), Baltimore.

Earlier this year, she appeared for the standardised test for 17-18 year-olds and came out with a high score of 740/800. She became eligible to be a part of special three-week programme, which provided her an insight into the workings of the nervous system. This, in turn, made her resolve firm to one day become a doctor. https://passnownow.com/pnnblog/13-year-old-indian-girl-in-uk-stuns-the-world-with-iq-higher-than-einsteins/

EducationIf You Can Solve This Math Problem, Then $1 Million Is Yours! by passnownow(op): 12:47pm On Jun 10, 2013
Texas banker and self-taught mathematician D. Andrew Beal has increased the cash prize for proving a conjecture he discovered in 1993, the Associated Press reported.

Held by the American Mathematical Society, the $1,000,000 cash prize goes to the first to prove the Beal Conjecture, an offshoot of the legendary Fermat’s Last Theorem proof that was solved by Andrew Wiles in 1994.

RomanceOn average, teens lose their virginity at fifteen. Why is this happening? by passnownow(op): 5:22pm On Jun 05, 2013
“Sex sells” is a phrase most people have heard.

Advertisements use it, sometimes without people even realising it. How many times have you seen someone you find unattractive on a magazine cover? Why is it that most makeup and accessory companies use pretty models in their advertisements? If you could not guess, it is because those types of individuals tend to catch ones eye.

Sex surrounds us and is even said to subconsciously be a part of our lives on a day- to -day basis. People, teen girls especially, try to fancy up their faces and do various treatments to their bodies to make sure that they feel and look attractive. Even if you do not realise it, sex seems to be in control of most people’s lives. It seems that more and more people are doing all that they can to look attractive and catch someone else’s eyes. In today’s society, it especially seems popular for girls’ to dress with short or showy clothing in order for them to catch a guys attention. What girls’ do not understand about this is that by dressing in such a manner, guys tend to look at a girl and want to date a girl for the entirely wrong reasons. Girls’ tend to think that guys “only want sex” and are said to be perverted, but girls in a way, are letting them. When someone walks down the street with a bright yellow shirt, it would only be natural to look at their shirt, right? The same things go for when a girl decides to dress in a way where too much skin is shown; of course a guy is going to look at a girl in a different way, then if the girl were to be conservative.

Presently, most teens brag about losing their virginity. Getting married a virgin is becoming more rare. In November of 2008 The Tyra Banks Show (USA) conducted an online survey regarding teens and sex. 10,000 teens were surveyed with the findings raising a lot of eyebrows… They included:

With all the risks, including pregnancy, why are teens still looking to lose their virginity, especially at such a young age? The most common reason is peer pressure. Not necessarily peer pressure that is deeming that if you do not have sex you are not “cool”, but instead the thought that everyone is having sex and it sounds like the normal thing to do.

Most teens I spoke to said they lost their virginity because they were curious as to what all the hype was about. Guys agreed that most of them want to have a sense of honour and belonging and get credit from their friends once they have had sex. On the other side, girls tend to see sex as something special. They find losing their virginity to be more romantic, giving them more of a bond with a guy than they had before. This could either be a positive or negative thing.

When interviewing University students, who prefer to remain anonymous, they said that having sex with their significant other brings them closer to that person. Most of the students said that sex was the glue to their relationship and that they thought sex was a positive thing. So, you may be asking, if sex is a great thing for a relationship, why is losing your virginity such a big deal?

Back in the olden days, as many would call it, the majority of people remained virgins until marriage. It seems now, not having sex with your boyfriend or girlfriend is considered abnormal. What most people do not understand is the gender differences regarding sex. Girls in general tend to be more emotional. Often, sex means a lot more to girls than it seems to mean to guys. In most Secondary School sex education and health classes, the curriculum focuses on only the physical consequences of having sex. Even though these consequences are present, emphasis also needs to be put on the emotional effects developed from being sexually active. There are certainly methods to prevent against STD’s and pregnancy, but there are no ways to protect against the emotional scars of sex.

Sex is an intimate activity that decades ago was known to be between two individuals who had deep devotion and love for one another. Today, sex is done casually, with people even stating they do it just because they are bored.

When a girl loses her virginity, she is a lot more likely to be embarrassed and keep it private. However, guys get praise from their friends; taking it more as a milestone than anything special. Then there are many girls who lose their virginity thinking it is a way to get a guy to like them and to continue to like them. Most girls’ view this type of intimacy as special and end up in turn becoming super attached to the guy with whom they have had sex with. This false sense of closeness could be dangerous as it often causes teens to remain in unhealthy relationships.

An overwhelming majority of guys say that they have sex because it is fun and because everyone is doing it. They seem not to get any more attached to the girl afterwards. This is dangerous because it causes the girl a lot more emotional pain. Typically teenage guys can become emotionally detached quicker than teenage girls.

The overwhelming pressure of sex surrounds teens wherever they go. It seems that whenever you walk into a store you see a model with a bathing suit on it. At secondary schools and college campuses you see girls wearing short skirts and low cut shirts. Teen artists are even writing songs with sexual content.

How then can this trend change?

First, you don’t have to wear showy clothes to get someone to like you. Showy clothes make people look at you for your body and not for yourself. People see what you show them, if you’re showing them your body, they will look at your body.

Teens should also avoid having relationships with someone who talks about becoming sexually active very quickly. Furthermore, avoid the random hook up. Hook-ups are pointless, there is no benefit to them and they increase the risk of contracting an STD.

Lastly, don’t listen to your friends! Don’t get persuaded just because your friends say that “everyone is doing it.”

Following these steps will help you not only guard your heart, but teach you the true value of intimacy. https://passnownow.com/pnnblog/sex-sells-but-are-teens-ready-for-what-comes-along-with-it/

EducationStrike: NUT Gives Ebonyi State Government Two – Week Ultimatum by passnownow(op): 2:41pm On Jun 05, 2013
The Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) on Wednesday gave Ebonyi State government two weeks ultimatum to arrive at a satisfactory agreement with the union or it will join the strike action called by its national leadership.

The threat is part of decisions reached at the end of an emergency meeting of the State Wing Executive Council (SWEC) of the union.

According to a communiqué issued at the end of the emergency meeting, the union wondered why the state government suddenly stopped the payment of the 27.5 percent Teachers’ Special Allowance in November 2011 after it had paid it for some months.

It applauded the on-going negotiation between the state government and the leadership of the union on how to commence the payment and ensure the sustenance of existing industrial harmony in the state.

The union further urged the state government to consider restoring the payment to avoid industrial action which has already commenced in similar states where the special allowances are not being paid.

“However, in consultation with the national head office of the union, we resolved that the ongoing-strike action in non compliant states be put on hold, for the time being in Ebonyi State, pending the outcome of the negotiations.

“Accordingly, the union gave a two-week grace for the state government and NUT leadership in the State to conclude the negotiation, otherwise, teachers in the state would be left with no other alternative but to join the sit at home strike action, “the communiqué read.

PoliticsCat “arrested” As Russian “spy” by passnownow(op): 2:31pm On Jun 05, 2013
Inmates at Russia’s prisons have been known to bribe guards to obtain cellphones. But using cats as couriers?

Guards patrolling a prison colony in Russia’s north saw a feline on the fence and it seemed to be carrying something. On a closer look, they found a few cellphones and chargers taped to the cat’s belly.

The federal prison service said Monday that this happened on Friday at Penal Colony No. 1 near the city of Syktyvkar in the Komi province, some 600 miles northeast of Moscow.

It wasn’t clear how the cat was supposed to drop off its loot.

Critical thinking challenge: Why would someone use a cat to smuggle phones? Why would prisoners want phones? https://passnownow.com/pnnblog/cat-arrested-as-russian-spy/

PhonesIphone 6 Component Orders Have Begun by passnownow(op): 2:01pm On Jun 05, 2013
Analyst says Apple has placed long term requests; expects production in August for late September launch.

The iPhone 6 is likely to arrive in September, according to a financial analyst.

Chris Whitmore of Deutsche Bank Equity Research made the claim in an investors note, released yesterday.

Whitmore said that Apple has begun placing orders for longer lead-time components.

He added that it is his belief that the iPhone maker will start ramping up production in August for a late September launch.

“our checks indicate orders for the new iPhone are starting now for longer lead-time components,” Whitmore wrote.

“Specifically, we believe Apple is currently placing component orders for iPhone volume manufacturing to ramp in the August timeframe, suggesting they’re on pace for a late September launch.”

Also, Whitmore joins the chorus of analysts that say a redesign of iOS is coming this year.

“We believe iOS is due for a material upgrade in order to freshen and reinvigorate the ‘cool’ factor around Apple’s products.

“The general look and feel of iOS is six years old and is in need of an update and some spark. It seems clear that Jony Ive’s fingerprints will be all over iOS7, which we expect to be the most significant iOS upgrade from a visual perspective.” https://passnownow.com/pnnblog/iphone-6-component-orders-have-begun

EducationAfter Secondary School: Making Wise Choice Between Advanced Studies And Career by passnownow(op): 6:01pm On Jun 04, 2013
As you come to the end of your secondary school education, this is surely one of the most important questions that you will be contemplating. This is also a very important decision to make as it will likely affect your future in the long term. Before making a decision, it is imperative that you carefully consider your career path in order to make the right decision for you as an individual. With this in mind, here are the main pros and cons that you should consider when deciding between advancing your education and getting a job.

Tertiary Education Fees and salaries

The cost of going to the University for instance often puts young people off especially if you there are no sponsors. It is likely that you will require a loan in order to pay for your education; meaning that you will then need to pay this back with interest later on in your career. This being said, the benefits of a Tertiary education and degree often outweigh the negatives. This is because you will most likely be on a greater starting salary than those who went straight into work and will probably have better promotions possibilities for the future. Another possibility is to decide to go to higher institution and at the same time do some part-time work so you will be able to fend for yourself, and at the same time gain some work experience. There are plenty of part-time job vacancies, so check out if there’s anything interesting you’d be able to work on while you study.

Experience and learning

If you already know exactly what you want to do as a career then it may be worth simply looking for a job straight after secondary school in order to get a bit of experience under your belt. However, this is not a possibility for all professions as many will require a degree in that field in order to land the position in the first place. For this reason, it is important that you do your research in order to understand precisely what is required of you beforehand. There are plenty of part-time job vacancies. http://www.tradestable.com.ng/nigeria/job_offers for example is your local free-classifieds website, so check out if there’s anything interesting you’d be able to work on while you study.

The entrepreneurial path

Is becoming an entrepreneur (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entrepreneur) the right path for you? As a general rule, those who go to college and get a good degree tend to have greater job flexibility and the potential to earn higher salaries. However, this is not always the case as there is a startling number of incredibly successful entrepreneurs without a higher institution education. If you have the motivation to acquire the finances in order to start your own business then perhaps higher institution is not the right path for you!

Individuality

When making this life changing decision, it is crucial that you weigh up your own strengths and weaknesses as an individual in order to understand what will be best for you in the long run. If you enjoy learning and believe that you will benefit from a tertiary education then it is often best to not worry too much about the financial aspects beforehand. On the other hand, if high school was not stimulating and/or tough for you, then going straight into the working world will often benefit you as an individual.

This being said, you will need to make this decision alone with the help and guidance of your family and friends. However, by considering these aspects you will find yourselves well on the way to making the right choice.

HealthConfirmed, MouthAction Can Lead To Cancer by passnownow(op): 10:33am On Jun 04, 2013
Actor Michael Douglas made headlines on Monday after telling The Guardian that his throat cancer may have been caused by the human papilloma virus transmitted through MouthAction.

The link between MouthAction, HPV and cancer has been receiving more attention in recent years.

HPV is a virus that's transmitted through sexual contact -- genital or oral. There are more than 40 types, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, USA.

"HPV is so common that nearly all sexually active men and women will get at least one type of HPV at some point in their lives," the CDC's website states. "In most cases, the virus goes away and it does not lead to any health problems. There is no certain way to know which people infected with HPV will go on to develop cancer."

Douglas' publicist told CNN that the actor did not intend to point to HPV as the sole cause of his throat cancer, but was suggesting it as one possible cause.

Did MouthAction bring about Michael Douglas' cancer diagnosis? Not exactly

HPV is thought to cause 1,700 oropharyngeal, or throat, cancers in women and 6,700 oropharyngeal cancers in men each year, according to the CDC. Tobacco and alcohol use may play a role in who develops cancer from the virus, the government agency notes.

The virus is transmissible regardless of whether the sexual contact is heterosexual or homosexual.

"Patients with HPV - positive cancers have better survival rates," Dr. Anil Chaturvedi of the National Cancer Institute told CNN in 2011. "The precise reasons for the survival benefits are not clear, but tumors in HPV - positive patients tend to have less genetic damage. Because of that, they are more responsive to cancer therapies like radiation treatment."

The CDC and the American Academy of Pediatrics recommend both boys and girls get the HPV vaccine between the ages of 11 and 12. Doctors say the vaccine is most effective if administered before a child becomes sexually active.

HPV has also been linked to cervical cancer, penile cancer and anal cancer, according to the CDC. The HPV vaccine prevents the most common types of the virus.

Of course, HPV is not the only danger of having unprotected MouthAction. Sexually transmitted diseases like herpes, syphilis, gonorrhea and HIV can be also spread through the act.

To stay safe, the it is recommended teens stay clear of sexual intercourse.

"The good news is that all STIs are preventable and most are curable," writes Gail Bolan, the CDC's director of STD prevention division. "But, because most STIs have no symptoms, testing is the necessary first step to treatment." https://www.passnownow.com/new.php?id=710

RomancePeer Pressure And Teen Sex Life: What You Should Know by passnownow(op): 3:44pm On May 28, 2013
Many teens, especially boys, feel pressure to have sex before they are ready. According to research released this week, some 63 percent of teens believe that waiting to have sex is a good idea, but few people actually do.

One in three boys ages 15-17 say they feel pressure to have sex, often from male friends. Teen girls feel less pressure--only 23 percent said they felt such coercion. Researchers questioned 1,854 subjects between the ages of 13 and 24 in a national survey.

The study, released by the Kaiser Family Foundation, also found that teens feel strong pressure to drink and try drugs. The study findings show a need for sex education at a young age, say the study authors.

A separate study released this week, sponsored by the National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy, finds that one in five teens reported having sex before they were 15. One in seven sexually active 14-year-olds also said they have been pregnant.

From the foregoing paragraphs, it can be concluded that Parents should never depend only on Sex Education in our children’s schools. We are our children’s first teachers and the first lessons start at home.
Teenage girls are most affected in early sexual activity. No righteous parent(s) would want their daughter's budding life and future be ruined by careless pregnancy, unskilled responsibilities, unwanted abortion, injury to family honour and self-respect.

6 Effects of Teen Sex on Mind and Body

1. Anxiety - When trust is broken towards the partner, the effects of anxiety can be dangerous. There is doubt, fear, tension, loss of appetite and could lead to depression and delinquent behaviour. Anxiety, stress and depression are the three evil moods that push a teen to conclude its life by a suicidal attempt if help comes too late. Elopement is not a strange thing either; it's the product of over-strict rules sparking conflict between parents and child.

2. Stress - When stress is developed by constant nervousness, distress and worries of a young unhealthy relationship, it becomes a major emotional problem. Teens withdraw to social activities of being around friends or having friends. They become anti-social and get involved between a petty mistake and bigger crimes. Stress is also stressed out if there is that conflict of approval towards the young love relationship that would involve a parents' decision from either side such as a history of family issues, social competition, religion, financial status (insecurities and conflict between the rich and the poor).

3. Mental Weakness - Parents express to their children only the best of dreams for their young lives. Early teen sexual activities could taint and damage the hopes and dreams of finishing their valuable education to prepare them for their future. School presence (missing classes and activities), class participation (day dreams in another world), doing what is prohibited and breaking school rules, and the loss of trust to education (the eagerness to work, to earn and to be able to spend for one another forgetting about the importance of studies).

4. Unpreparedness and Low-Self Esteem - Accidents happen because of ignorance, the neglect of proper discipline and the refusal of obedience. Unwanted pregnancy, unreadiness to act on mature responsibilities and denial to respond in the acceptance of its present reality do lead to the loss of love and trust towards family and the deficiency to appreciate self. Even the teen boy would feel that he has become a "failure".

5. Love is Play - There is the lack of respect for oneself, one's life and the annoying pride of one's alter ego. It is easy and a common act for teens who demonstrate young love like they are acting a play. The role to keeping love secure, important and giving it care becomes casually lifeless in the form of comedy. It is becoming a fun thing to see and hurt others, play with sex on others that they do not give a care at all, and run from obligations because in the first place, it was just merely "love at play".

6. Frightful Truth - Young immature love stays in the memory banks of the unprepared teens. By the time they become better individuals to produce and settle down to raise a family, they are still scarred all their lives of their young sexual behaviour in the past. It will haunt and fright them as parents to their very own young teens that their past irresponsible selves would mirror towards their children. It is good if these parents then could tell their teens- "Been there, done that. Don't do it." - See more at: https://www.passnownow.com/new.php?id=706#sthash.n1FyXeBW.dpuf

EducationInspiring 85-year-old Lands A Job Four Days After Graduating From University by passnownow(op): 10:50am On May 28, 2013
It's clearly never too late to reinvent yourself.

After having left high school in 1943, Willadene Zedan, 85, received her bachelor’s degree from Marian University in Wisconsin on May 18. Today, she was set to begin her job helping a local doctor as he makes house calls to elderly patients, according to Next Avenue.

"I was preparing myself for a new career," the great-grandmother said of her degree, according to the outlet.

Zedan, who lives in Fond du Lac, Wisc., took her first class at nearby Marian University several years after her husband died in 1998. After realising that she “loved the college atmosphere,” she gradually started taking up to four classes a semester, according to the Fond du Lac Reporter (paywall follows). Eventually, she declared her major in theology, which due to her strong spiritual faith, seemed like a “natural fit.”

Zedan told the Fond du Lac Reporter that she got on well with other students, even if her age made her atypical.

"All the students liked me, and if you bake enough cookies they will love you," she told the outlet.

However, studying was not the only thing the dean’s list student did while she was enrolled in Marion. The Spring 2012 issue of Marian University Magazine reports that Zedan spent five weeks studying abroad in Rome, where she learned about Italian culture during the 19th and 20th centuries.

“Everyday is a new adventure. Everyday,” Zedan told the publication. “You’re never too old to learn.”

Lisa Kidd, the director of University Relations at Marian University, told The Huffington Post that until Zedan, the school had not had anyone graduate at the “ripe old age of 85.”

While at the university, Kidd worked with Zedan to coordinate media photo shoots and interviews.

“It was very easy to work with her; she has a spark,” Kidd told HuffPost.

Zedan's job offer came after she told her doctor about her upcoming graduation during a check-up, Next Avenue reports. Unlike many college graduates, she was able to leave school with solid plans. - See more at: https://www.passnownow.com/new.php?id=702#sthash.siYeYk4e.dpuf

Jolaosho of no fixed address pleaded guilty to a one- count charge of stealing.

The Prosecutor, Inspector Augustine Ozimini, told the court that the offence was committed on May 11 at 6, Balogun St., Ore-Meji, Oluwo, Onikolobo in Abeokuta.

Ozimini said that the convict entered the room of one Miss Olaide Somorin and stole her cell phone, adding that Somorin’s roommate, who saw the convict when he was rushing out of the house, raised an alarm.

CrimeUS Teen Arrested In Master-plan To Blow Up HIS School by passnownow(op): 11:22am On May 27, 2013
A 17-year-old student in Albany, Ore., built several bombs and had a detailed plan – including checklists and diagrammes – as part of a Columbine-style plot to attack West Albany High School, a local prosecutor says.

No motive has yet been made public, but Benton County District Attorney John Haroldson said authorities on Friday found six kinds of explosives – including napalm bombs, pipe bombs, drain-cleaner bombs, and Molotov cocktails – in "a secret compartment that had been created in the floorboards" of the teen's bedroom. The teen, Grant Acord, sought to make his attack bigger than Columbine, Mr. Haroldson said.

The alleged plot is just the latest example of how the Columbine massacre continues to shape school safety 14 years later.

Not only does the plot suggest that would-be attackers continue to draw inspiration from Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, who killed 12 students and a teacher at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colo., before committing suicide on April 23, 1999. But it also points to how such plots have been repeatedly foiled. Read more here: https://www.passnownow.com/new.php?id=693

Technology MarketMeet David Karp, The 26-year-old School Dropout Worth $275m After Selling Tumblr by passnownow(op): 2:54pm On May 24, 2013
Behind the news of Tumblr’s sale for $1.1billion (£723 million) to Yahoo, there lies the story of David Karp, its 26-year-old founder, who has now become one of the world’s richest technology entrepreneurs.

Prior to the sale, his estimated net worth was $200million, with some analysts now suggesting that Karp’s 25 per cent share of Tumblr will have earned him up to $275million.

The combination of Karp’s wealth and youth places him firmly into the 21st century’s most exclusive clubs – the young millionaires who made their money online - yet Karp’s public profile is surprisingly discreet, especially when compared to the archetypal cyber-tycoon, Mark Zuckerberg. Although perhaps Karp is just lucky that Aaron Sorkin hasn’t taken an interest in his life. Read up here: https://www.passnownow.com/new.php?id=687

RomanceHow To Deal With A Womanising Boyfriend by passnownow(op): 12:49pm On May 24, 2013
Do you think that your boyfriend is crossing the line of healthy flirting with other girls? Just because he was popular with girls before he met you, does not mean that he has the right to carry the same habits once he is in a relationship with you.

Here are some effective ways to deal with the womanising behaviour of your boyfriend.

1. Identify specific instances of his womanising behaviour

You will never be able to prove your point unless you confront your boyfriend with proof about specific instances of his womanising ways. The best way to confront him is to keep a note of all the times you noticed his womanising ways. When you confront him, list out these specific examples so that you have enough substance to accuse him of being a womaniser.

2. Give him a warning when you confront him

There is no point in confronting your boyfriend if you don’t give him a stern warning for his womanising ways. Let it be very clear to him that you are well aware of his behaviour and you will not tolerate with any of it. HealthDoes Cracking Your Knuckles Cause Arthritis? by passnownow(op): 5:07pm On May 23, 2013
You’ve been told not to, but you went on cracking those knuckles anyway, didn't you?

Well, rebel, your act of preteen disobedience—which is likely now a few-times-a-day habit—is not going to give you osteoarthritis.

Arthritis is an acute or chronic inflammation of a joint, often accompanied by pain and structural changes.

Cracking your fingers or (gag) toes, is simply you forming—then popping—an air bubble in your synovial fluid, the gooey stuff that gathers in the cavities of your digits and joints.

And while this oft-cited study found that the practice doesn't increase your risk of developing arthritis as you age, researchers did find that some (but not all) elderly knuckle-crackers have slightly weaker grip strength than non-crackers. That said, this study came out well before improving hand strength (via weights, golf, tennis-ball squeezing, etc.) became standard in geriatric care.

In short, while you risk skeeving out your cube mates, you digit crackers should be okay in the long haul. https://www.passnownow.com/new.php?id=681

The cover photo shows the moment Brit dad Julian Stevenson took his two young children to buy sweets at a French bakery — just hours before he allegedly slit their throats in a terrifying double-murder.

In astonishing CCTV footage, Stevenson is seen calmly taking kids Mathew, 10, and Carla, five, into the boulangerie near his home in Lyon, France.

The children are both carrying balloons as they walk into the shop and the little girl makes a bee-line for some sweet jars she sees on a table.

The girl then appears thrilled when dad helps her pick out the treats before moving to the till to pay.

Stevenson, 47, from Cheltenham, Glos, is casually dressed in a dark-coloured jumper, long shorts and flip-flops and appears relaxed with the children as he orders a baguette.

There was no hint of the terrible events that were to take place just a few hours later. Read up here: https://www.passnownow.com/new.php?id=677

Kiera Wilmot, the 16-year-old who put toilet cleaner and aluminum foil together at school and it went bang will not be charged with a felony.

It's more enjoyable when sense doesn't prevail.

It allows for so much more humour and head-shaking.

However, Kiera Wilmot has probably shaken her head enough lately and will now be grateful for a little stillness.

Should you have been unaccountably arrested for expectorating in your secondary school cafeteria recently, you might not have heard about Wilmot.

One morning at Bartow High School in Florida, she put toilet cleaner and aluminum foil in a water bottle to see what might happen. It was just, she said, an experiment. Read on here: https://www.passnownow.com/new.php?id=637
