This is nothing but a script prepared by the shenanigans who seems to be threatened by the progress and popularity of Senator Buruji Kashamu in the southwest.

The good news is that the genera public can't be deceived anylonger. Gone are the days when Ziggy works.

After a thorough investigation by the jury in United Kingdom, Senator Kashamu was set free by a competent court of jurisdiction when the American prosecutors failed in convincing the jury that Prince Kashamu is the "Alhaji"the American government is looking for. Prince Kashamu as at this moment is yet to perform the holy pilgrimage,he is yet to travel to USA since he was born. How come he was involved in drug pedling when he has not for once been to America? Is it possible to shave a man's head in his absence?

Thank God United Kingdom has the most organised judiciary system in the world. The hurry threw out the case for lack of evidence as those arrested publicly declared Prince Kashamu is not the "Alhaji "they mentioned to America government.

The Enemies of progress also connive with the Ndlea and the then Agf to forcefully kidnapped Senator Kashamu before the innauguration of the 8th Senate in 2015.The law court also dismissed the case and seriously warned the party involved in the show of shame.

I also wish to inform the general public that; Senator Kashamu's rise to the position of a pdp National leader is a threat to some expired politicians of yeteryears, the dead woods are obviously not happy with his progress hence the need to vilify his personality.

Touch not my anointing and do no harm to my prophet says the lord.

The combination of the " tamed" lion and Son of the pool merchant can't harm our distinguished Senator Kashamu.

This is dead on arrival as usual.

OGD DIDN'T STEP DOWN FOR DOKPESI, SAYS KASHAMU
Following the uproar that has trailed the purported "stepping down" of former Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel (OGD) from the race for the National Chairman of the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Buruji Kashamu has described the news as a "hoax and. a move typical of OGD".
In a statement he issued on Sunday in Lagos entitled "Re: Dokpesi's tour and OGD's theatrics", Senator Kashamu said, "It is now common knowledge that High Chief Raymond Dokpesi is one of the contenders for the office of the National Chairman of our great party, the PDP. And to realise his ambition, he has been touring the states of the Federation. On Friday, it was the turn of Ogun State.
"Expectedly, when he got to Ogun State, OGD and his people hijacked him and made him to first meet with those who are known to have worked against the party and his candidates like OGD even as recent as the last general elections.
"It should be noted that while OGD denies these dissidents in private, he openly condone and encourage them.
"When High Chief Dokpesi got to OGD's place, OGD reportedly said he was stepping down to support Dokpesi.
"Naturally, High Chief Dokpesi was happy, thinking that the gesture was genuine. What he does not know is that until some 48 hours before Dokpesi's visit, OGD was still very much in the race. Last Wednesday, he was in Akure, the Ondo State capital where he went to seek Governor Olusegun Mimiko's support for his ambition to be the National Chairman.
"He flew the kite that some people were mounting pressure on him to join the race whereas he was the one pressurising himself to contest the position. He had planned to use the position to relaunch his dimming political career back home."
The statement added, "It was the court ruling that was delivered on Thursday in favour of Senator Ali Modu Sheriff that threw him off balance and made him to beat a retreat, especially when the court cast a shadow of doubt over the scheduled National Convention.
"He told those close to him that he could no longer waste his scarce resources on a venture that is not certain.
"OGD further told members of his inner circle that Dokpesi could afford to take such a risk because he got some money from God-knows-where.
"He said his so-called endorsement of Dokpesi was a classic case of what the Yoruba call "Maa jo lo mo n wo eyin e" (Let me watch you dance).
"So, let no one be deceived by the talks of his "stepping down" or "endorsing" High Chief Raymond Dokpesi. It is in his usual character of the more you look, the less you see or saying one thing and doing the exact opposite!"

Miss. Talabi , who is of Ijebu North Local Government Area of the state, was amazed at the kind gesture.

The Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District of Ogun State, Prince Buruji Kashamu has condoled with the Remo Traditional Council, the good people of Remoland and Ogun East in general over the passage to glory of the Akarigbo and paramount ruler of Remoland, Oba Michael Adeniyi Sonariwo.

He spoke following yesterday's (Wednesday) formal announcement by the Remo Traditional Council that the monarch has joined his ancestors.

In a statement he issued today (Thursday), Senator Kashamu described Oba Sonariwo as "a first-class monarch, an accomplished accountant, an astute administrator, a loving family man, a doting father and a complete gentleman who will be sorely missed."

He said given all that Oba Sonariwo achieved during his lifetime, he should be celebrated instead of being mourned.

Kashamu, however, described the monarch's passage as a great loss to Remoland, Ogun East Senatorial District, the state and the Yoruba nation, in general. Oba Sonariwo joined his ancestors on July 23, 2016 in a United Kingdom hospital at the age of 80.

Re: Hon. Ladi Adebutu's comments on 40/40. @ Hon. Ladi Adebutu, your rallying call or is it cry is misdirected and lacking in focus and substance. Although your diatribes are understandable: we cannot beat a child and expect him not to cry! But in doing so, you cannot rewrite recent history. While we welcome your right to go from the High Courts to the Supreme Court, it is not true that the SPBK family of which you were a member until recently when your inordinate ambition got the better of you has always lost appeals. The most recent is the Court of Appeal judgment that restored SPBK's mandate after you and your ilk colluded with some APC elements to upturn SPBK's victory at the poll using the Election Petitions Tribunal. On the contrary, you have been the one running from one court to the other without anything to show for it despite milking your dad. You have gone from Abuja to Lagos and Abeokuta without making any headway. How you intend to win a case against the Ogun State Exco whose tenure was extended by NEC, just like others across the other 35 states of the federation and FCT remains to seen. This is the same Exco that gave you ticket to be in the House of Reps! You don't have INEC reports, no NEC recognition, no court has validate your so-called congresses, no recognition from Sheriff and the temporary one you got from Makarfi has been withdrawn! You mention great Ogun leaders like Awolowo, Onabanjo, Osoba and the like. Unfortunately, you do not belong in their class! These great leaders, including OGD whose name you only want to use before you do to him what you are doing to SPBK, are by far more intelligent, organised and idealistic than you are. They are achievers. Pray, what have you achieved all of your life, except showing off as the spoilt brat of a rich man? We are not unmindful of the fact that you see this crisis that you orchestrated as a means to milk your dad! It is doubtful if you will ever want a resolution of the crisis .

Ogun PDP petitions Buhari over judge’s conduct


The Ogun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to probe the role of Justice Mobolaji Ojo in the crisis rocking the party.

The petition, which was delivered to the Presidency at the weekend, was signed by its secretary, Alhaji Semiu Sodipo.

Sodipo, in the petition, said: “I write this petition seeking Your Excellency’s urgent intervention and prompt investigation into the conduct of Hon. Justice Mobolaji A. Ojo who sits at Court 4 in the Abeokuta Division of the High Court of Ogun State with the authority of Chief Adebayo Dayo, the State Chairman of the Ogun State Chapter of the PDP and on behalf of the entire State Executive of the Ogun State Chapter of the party.”

He said the probe would deepen the president’s battle against “the scourge of corruption and getting rid of it in our body politic”.

Sodipo said he was aware “of how you have lamented that some bad eggs in the nation’s judiciary are frustrating the anti-corruption war by either aiding or abetting corrupt practices”.

The case against the judge, said Sodipo, is that “Chief Adebayo Dayo and I were sued as the 3rd and 4th Defendants (representing the Ogun State Chapter of the PDP) in Suit No: AB/121/2016 – Barr Wasiu Boladale Sanni and four others versus the Peoples Democratic Party and three others. The suit was filed by political malefactors in the state, most of who had even left the PDP and decamped to Social Democratic Party (SDP) during the 2015 general elections.

“We immediately instructed our solicitors who entered appearance for us and filed among other processes a Notice of Preliminary Objection challenging the jurisdiction of the court to entertain the suit.

“I am aware that the PDP at the National Level also instructed solicitors to defend the suit who also filed their processes along with a Notice of Preliminary Objection.

“The crux of the complaints of the Plaintiffs in the suit is against the resolution of the National Executive Committee (NEC) which extended the tenure of all its organs at the ward, local government, state and National levels pending the conduct of congresses/Convention scheduled for April and May 2016 by the party. They are seeking a declaration that the NEC of the party had no authority to issue such a directive. The suit was assigned to Hon. Justice Mobolaji Ojo sitting at Court 4 of the High Court of Ogun State, Abeokuta.”

He went on: “The plaintiffs in the suit relying on a judgment delivered by the Federal High Court on the 2nd of May 2012 in Suit No: FHC/L/CS/347/12 – CHIEF ADEBAYO DAYO & ANOR V. PDP & 4 ORS are arguing that the tenure of the Chief Adebayo Dayo led executive which was recognised by the Federal High Court in the said 2nd of May 2012 judgment had expired in February 2016.

“It is important at this juncture to acquaint Your Excellency of the political wiles of some disgruntled party members in Ogun State. It would give great clarity on subsequent events. Hon. Oladipupo Olatunde Adebutu, a prominent member of the Party in Ogun State has set himself against the progress of the Party in Ogun State. He nurses an ambition to be the gubernatorial candidate of the Party in the 2019 general elections and has boasted to several persons that he would ensure that he gains control over the State Executive Committee of the party in order to be unchallenged at the primaries of the party that would produce the gubernatorial candidate of the Party for the 2019 general elections.

“Knowing full well that the loyalty of myself and the Chairman of the Ogun State Executive Committee, Chief Adebayo Dayo cannot be bought, he has resorted to all manner of illegal, unlawful and criminal means to hijack control of the leadership of the State Executive. He, in conjunction with his cronies, has attempted to break into the Secretariat of the Party and steal the records of the Party. Luckily, we got wind of his plan and informed the security apparatus in the State who formed an ambush for them. Two of his personal escorts provided by the Nigerian Police were arrested along with other thugs during the attack on the Secretariat. The criminal charge is still pending at the Ogun State Magistrate’s Court.

“We immediately recognised the suit filed by Barr. Wasiu Boladale Sanni, one of his loyalists who had prior to this time abandoned the Party, as one of his political gimmicks and one of his efforts to hijack the leadership of the State Executive by crooked means.

“We received feedback and information from several members of the Party that Hon. Adebutu had boasted that he would get the leadership structure of the State Executive through court orders as he has found a ‘favorable Judge’ who would carry out his bidding. As we did not want to impugn the integrity of any judicial officer without justifiable cause, though we were wary of Hon. Adebutu in view of his antecedents, we believed we would get justice from Hon. Justice Mobolaji Ojo. Subsequent events proved us wrong.”

Sodipo said after the conduct of the congresses in Ogun State, several persons began to hold themselves out as members of the executive that emerged from parallel congresses conducted.

“We were therefore constrained to return to the Federal High Court, who had in the judgment delivered on the 2nd of May 2012 held that the Chief Adebayo Dayo-led Executive of the Party were the authentic executive of the party having emerged from the valid congresses conducted by the Party, to seek a determination of whether the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ought not to mandate the PDP to accept the officers which emerged from the congresses conducted by the Chief Adebayo Dayo-led Executive,” he said.

Hon. Justice I.N. Buba, he said, on June 24, restrained the national organ of the party from recognising structure other than the one that emerged from the congresses by the Dayo-led executive.

Sodipo said despite the existence of this judgment, Justice Ojo, on July 8, gave a contrary ruling. He added that this was done without court processes being served on the defendants.

“Your Excellency can imagine our dismay, shock and utter disappointment when we saw a Notice signed by a Hon. Sikirulai Ogundele on the 15th of July, 2016 in which he contemptuously referred to himself as the Chairman of the PDP Ogun State Chapter and issued to the Secretary of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) referred to an interlocutory order granted by Hon. Justice Mobolaji Ojo on the 26th of May 2016 directing the PDP, the Independent National Electoral Commission, the Inspector General of Police and the Department of State Services to accord recognition to the Hon. Sikirulai Ogundele-led Ogun State Executive Committee of the PDP in Suit No: AB/170/2016 – MR. TAOFEEQ APESIN & 9 ORS V PDP & 3 ORS, was brought to our attention.

“The only proof of service that Chief Liady availed the court was a notice by DHL of a package sent to PDP which did not indicate who (if anyone at all) received the processes for PDP. Furthermore, there is no order permitting the Claimants to serve the processes by using courier service, yet Hon. Justice Ojo curiously proceeded to hear and grant the interlocutory orders sought without ensuring proper service on the PDP.

“The headquarters of three out of the four Defendants in the suit (PDP, INEC and Inspector General of Police) are in Abuja. The claimants did not apply for leave to serve out of jurisdiction.

“Furthermore, the so-called result sheets the Claimants are relying on in the suit and their motions are obviously manufactured by them. They have no stamp of either the PDP or INEC.”

PDP NATIONAL CONVENTION 2016:Another thumb down for Sikirulai Ogundele as Media mogul Chief Raymond Dokpesi recognises Engr. Adebayo Dayo as authentic Chairman for Ogun PDP!

*ACCUSED OF JUDICIAL MISCONDUCT
A judge of the Ogun State High Court, Justice Mobolaji Ojo is under investigation for judicial misconduct.
In two separate petitions dated 18th and 19th July, 2016 and addressed to the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) and copied to the Ogun State Chief Judge and Justice Ojo, the Ogun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) accused him of being biased and judicial misconduct.
Among other things, Ojo was accused of granting interlocutory orders against the PDP, INEC and the Police without service on the parties.
No leave of the court was sought and obtained to serve PDP, INEC and the Police, yet he made orders against them.
One of the lawyers to the plaintiffs (Taofik Apesin & nine others) in the Suit No: AB/170/2016 who are some of the stooges of Hon. Ladi Adebutu was said to have undertaken to personally serve the defendants. He then produced a DHL proof of delivery when the court never made an order directing either personal service or through a courier service.
A new twist has however been added to the situation following reports that immediately the first petition was served on Justice Ojo, he reached out to the "middle man" between him and Hon. Ladi Adebutu, and that is Hon. Ayo Odugbesan.
On Tuesday, the 19th of July, 2016, Odugbesan, who rode into the court premises in a red Honda CRV, headed straight for Justice Ojo's chambers.
As they were conversing, the second petition was again submitted. When his attention was drawn to it, he retorted, "again"?
Moments after, Odugbesan and the Justice Ojo drove out of the court premises to Park Inn Hotel. While Odugbesan rode in a red Honda CRV jeep, Justice Ojo rode in a Prado jeep and following closely.
Upon alighting from Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), Justice Ojo then asked his driver and orderly to drive off and go and wait for him elsewhere outside Park Inn Hotel.
Tongues are now wagging as to whether Hon. Ayo Odugbesan is the "link man" between the dissidents and Justice Ojo. If yes, what fate will befall them? Time will tell. Read the petition:

The sleepy town of Ilodo Ijebu in Ijebu North East Local Government Area of Ogun State literally came alive over the weekend when the Ogirimadagbo of Ilodo Ijebu, Oba Engr.Isiaka Ajede, conferred chieftaincy titles on the State Coordinator of Omoilu Foundation, Comrade Niyi Osoba and his wife, Chief (Mrs) Oluranti Osoba as well as other illustrious sons and daughters of Ijebuland.

While the title of Otunba Obajuwon was conferred on Osoba, his wife, Chief (Mrs) Oluranti Osoba was named the Yeye Obajuwon.

Prominent chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State and other dignitaries stormed the town to honour one of their own.

Hundreds of the PDP leaders and members of Omoilu Foundation took over every available space in the palace grounds and the adjourning streets to celebrate with “Giwa or Comrade” as they fondly call him.

The delegation was led by a respected leader of the party and the Grand Patron of Omoilu Foundation, Chief Kolawole Ogunjobi (a.k.a Collindale). Also in attendance were the Chairman, Wesco Lotto and Lottery, Otunba Moses Adewale Osinubi; the PDP Deputy Chairman in Ogun State, Alhaji Boye Adeshina; the Ogun State PDP Women Leader, Chief (Mrs.)Rosemary Olusoji; the State Women Leader of Omoilu Foundation, Otunba(Mrs) Remi Odubote-Ogunkoya; the PDP Chairman in Sagamu Local Government, Otunba Kola Akinyemi; his counterpart from Ijebu North Local Government, Chief (Mrs.) Tuke Omotara and Chief (Mrs.) Olanike Ejioye, among others.

While conferring the chieftaincy title on Comrade Osoba and his wife, the monarch said, “He has demonstrated high courage and commitment to justice right from his days as Chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC). Osoba has been an irrepressible fighter for the protection of civil liberties in the country. He could not have achieved all he did without the able support of his wife. They have shown exemplary leadership and selflessness, hence their being conferred with these chieftaincy titles as Otunba Obajuwon and Yeye Obajuwon of Ilodo Ijebu. ”

Responding, Osoba pledged his support for all the laudable projects embarked upon by the monarch in the community.

“The development of Ilodo Ijebu and the people from today has become my major concern. I will support Kabiyesi, the Ogirimadagbo of Ilodo Ijebu, Oba (Engr.) Isiaka Ajede and all illustrious sons and daughters of Ilodo Ijebu to make Ilodo Ijebu a destination for investors. So, help me God,” he said.

The ceremony was rounded off with the melodious tunes from a prominent juju musician who was on the band stand. Guests were treated to sumptuous meals and exotic wines and drinks, just as the new chiefs danced and appreciated the guests for honouring them with their presence.

Following various media reports and insinuations that have trailed my recent rapprochement and the ongoing efforts at reconciliation and resolution of the leadership crisis in our party, it has become necessary for me to make a few clarifications and offer some insights into where we are. The points are as follows:

·        Let me clarify that no one has dumped anyone. We are members of the same party. When I was asked by our leaders to support our revered national leader, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, as the National Chairman, none of the leaders told me that they had changed their mind. Therefore, my support was to maintain the dignity and respect for the office of the National Chairman.

·          Disputes and disagreements are part and parcel of any dynamic organization. But while we disagree, we must not throw away the baby with the bath water as true party men and women. There must be room for resolution of the disputes and disagreements.

·        After series of meetings with many of our respectable leaders, a larger meeting was held with Senator Ali Modu Sheriff and Senator Ahmed Makarfi last Tuesday at the Taraba State Governor’s Lodge. The meeting had in attendance Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State, Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba State, Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe State, Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, the Minority Leader of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio; Deputy Minority Whip of the Senate, Senator Biodun Olujinmi; Senator Suleiman Adokwe from Nassarawa State; Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT), Senator Walid Jubrin; House Minority Leader, Hon. Leo Ogor; former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ibrahim Mantu and my humble self, with other notable and meaningful leaders.  The meeting which began around 11a.m on Tuesday lasted till 5a.m on Wednesday; and the discussions at the meetings were frank and tough.

·        I was amazed by the fact that during the negotiations, the two leaders confirmed their unwillingness to contest the National Chairmanship of the party. They both agreed that an expanded National Caucus meeting should be held and that a National Convention Committee (NCC) be set up within a week and then the NCC will run the affairs of the party till the National Convention is held. They both agreed that a date should be fixed for the National Convention within a month. They both agreed that the two of them will address the nation and members of the party at the National Convention.  In effect, the two great leaders showed that they have the interest of the party at heart.

·        However, the only point of divergence was who should preside over the expanded national caucus meeting and constitute the National Convention Committee.

·         It was then proposed that they both Co-Chair the expanded national caucus meeting and jointly constitute the National Convention Committee. Other proposals were made.

·        It was at this stage that I decided to attend the expanded national caucus meeting and join hands with other well-meaning leaders to see through the reconciliation process. As a true party man, I could not but support the reconciliation process in order to move the party forward.

·        One thing I took away from themany reconciliation meetings and diplomatic shuttles is the fact that the PDP is blessed with many good leaders among who are Senator Ahmed Makarfi and Senator Ali Modu Sheriff.

·        Therefore, I can only plead with our great leader, Senator Sheriff, who has been hurt, to soft-pedal and let go, in the interest of the party and our teeming members. He has shown that he is a principled man and a courageous person.

·        Since he and Senator Makarfi have said they are not interested in contesting for the office of National Chairman of the party at the National Convention, he should encourage all his people to participate in the process leading to the rescheduled National Convention.

·        I have read comments credited to Dr. Cairo Ojougboh to the effect that the cases in court will be pursued till the end. As someone who has been preaching peace and reconciliation, he should not be seen to be fuelling the situation. As it is said, you cannot cry more than the bereaved. Senator Sheriff is a man with a large heart who is forgiving as a true Muslim and as enjoined by the Almighty Allah subwatala ala.

·        Finally, I wish to enjoin all my leaders, elders, associates and supporters in the South West to join hands with all our states, zonal and national leaders to move our party forward. Let’s sheathe our sword; put an end to recriminations and infighting. Let’s move on in one accord as a people united under the Almighty Allah.

OGUN PDP PRESS STATEMENT 16/07/2016

PURPORTED AUTHORISATION LETTER FROM AHMED MAKARFI-LED NATIONAL CARETAKER COMMITTEE TO OGSIEC: SIKIRULAI OGUNDELE AND HIS PAYMASTERS ARE ON A MACABRE DANCE

The Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun State under the progressive leadership of Engr. Adebayo Dayo has taken cognizance of a letter dated 4th July, 2016, ‘purportedly written and signed’ by the Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led National Caretaker Committee of our party and addressed to the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) to the effect that, the commission should accept the list of our party's candidates for the forthcoming local government elections from a certain Sikirulai Ogundele, a self-appointed chairman of Ogun PDP.

While we became aware of the said letter few days ago and was actually displayed on the social media by the agents of destabilization yesterday, we refrained from reacting to it because we wanted to ascertain its authenticity; as these felons are indeed capable of any subterfuge. If we recall, the same Ogundele and his fellow outlaws are still standing trial for burglary of the state secretariat and stealing of vital documents. Therefore, if their antecedent is anything to go buy, their capacity for mischief is never in doubt.

However, we were again inundated with an advertorial in page 8 of today’s Tribune newspaper, wherein the same letter to OGSIEC and another letter to INEC, were displayed for the public and signed by same Sikirulai Ogundele. We therefore feel compelled to make a few clarifications so that members of our party and the unsuspecting public would not be deceived by the elaborate shenanigans of this brigand and his paymasters.

It is laughable that ever since they tried to contrive a parallel executive (unsuccessfully though), this man has never been confident to publicly call himself the state chairman of Ogun PDP save on Whatsapp groups; but this latest gambit from them has given him the audacity to even append his name on a paid newspaper advertorial. He can be assured that he will face the consequence of that contemptuous act. Notwithstanding, certain issues becomes fundamental to point out and expose the malfeasance of this man and his puppeteers.

Let it be stated for the umpteenth time that, there are not two state executives in Ogun state. Prior to the congresses that ushered in the current executives at all levels, there exists a valid judgment and another interlocutory order of the Federal High Courts which empowered the Adebayo Dayo executive to conduct the congress that will birth a new executive. That in hand, the Mohammed El-Yaqubu congress committee sent from the party headquarters worked in line with these orders and supervised the emergence of all executives from the ward, local government and state as led by Engr. Adebayo Dayo.

After the congresses, there are full reports of all security agencies and certified True Copies of INEC status report that validated all the congresses. There is also a valid judgment of the FHC that reaffirmed the authenticity of the congresses and ruled that our executive shall exist till April 2020, acting on behalf of the party in all circumstances and on all matters. More importantly, the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting that held before the acrimonious Portharcourt convention examined and ratified the congresses in 29 states (Ogun state inclusive) and only seven states had issues for which NEC ordered that they be rerun at later dates. It is pertinent to note that Engr. Adebayo Dayo attended that meeting as Ogun PDP state chairman; and there was no other person there with same title. Where was the Sikirulai Ogundele on that day?

These same person and his cohorts exhibited their now-famous penchant for forgery when they (in collaboration with certain powerful personalities in Portharcourt) doctored the convention programme, superimposing their illegal names on legitimate names of Ogun PDP delegates. They also infamously highjacked the tags means for legitimates delegates and surreptitiously gained entrance to the convention ground with it. We are therefore not surprised that they have come up with these letters just to bear the toga of legitimacy, but they forget that no matter how a pig is dressed in expensive apparel, its natural place of abode still remains the mud.

On the forthcoming local government election in Ogun state, it is important to note that there is no role for the National Working Committee as enshrined in the party’s constitution, talk less of a caretaker committee. In chapter VIII, Article 50 (10a) of the party laws, it unequivocally states in parts that, “for members aspiring for nomination for election to the post of Councilors, Local Government Council Chairmen or membership, the deciding authority shall be the State Executive Committee”. Consequently, the national leadership lacks the power to expressly write OGSIEC directing it to collect list from an impostor; when in actuality, a valid state executive by its inherent powers will naturally do so, without resorting to help from above. By inference, Ogundele and his bosses, lacking in legitimacy had to run to a contentious caretaker committee to seek powers it does not have. How farcical and desperate can a people become?

Moreover, our checks in the last 24 hours indicated that the caretaker committee was misled to write such a ridiculous letter and it was done in the midst of the acrimony and power tussle in the national leadership at the time. That was even before the momentous events of two days ago when a truce was reached and gladiators resolved to work together. One of the major resolutions of the ceasefire was that all decisions reached as at the last NEC meeting before the Portharcourt debacle remains sacrosanct including congresses; which by inference makes the Adebayo Dayo executive a ‘fait accompli’ on Ogun PDP and all well-meaning party faithful must align and work with it for progress.

Furthermore, the caretaker committee by its mandate will only midwife a new convention and initiate reconciliation process. Its mandate does not include dabbling into issues that predates its existence. Even in his press briefing two days ago, Ahmed Markarfi, mindful of the limitation of his committee said two major things. He announced an August 17th 2016 date for the new convention and also announced a national reconciliation committee headed by the Deputy Senate President, Sen. Ike Ekweremadu. He further went to salute Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff for being conciliatory and also praised Sen. Buruji Kashamu for his commendable role in achieving the peace process. In all of these, where was Sikirulai and his godfather?

The Peace terms agreed by the active southwest leaders such as Governors Olusegun Mimiko, Ayodele Fayose and Senator Buruji Kashamu is clear: All executives in their respective States should be left intact while Oyo, Osun and Lagos states be harmonised. We have already reached out to the Markafi committee over the strange letter and it will soon be redressed.

Additionally, it is the height of self-delusion and hallucinations for Ogundele and his sponsors to revel in a purchased but worthless piece of letter that cannot pass the integrity test of our party constitution and neither can it pass the test of judicial inquest. That they even put up paid advert in the national daily showcases their nervousness and infantile phantasm. We urge all members of our party to disregard the poisonous letter as being of no effect, insignificant null and void. OGSIEC and INEC have been served the necessary papers and we also have the necessary correspondence from them. At the appropriate time when list of candidates will indeed be submitted, the tomfoolery of Sikirulai Ogundele and his backers shall be exposed to the world. For now they can continue clowning around and doing the macabre dance.

Finally, the screening of aspirants for councillorship and chairmanship positions for the forthcoming local election continues on Monday 18th July 2016 at the party secretariat, Abeokuta. That will be the last day so we implore those that have not done the screening to make themselves available that day. Our party remains on course to record success in that election and all hands must be on deck to achieve this.

While I know and trust that the above stated issue is being addressed at the appropriate quarters, let me state the following:
1. That events have since overtaken the issuance of a letter to OGSIEC naming one Sikirulai Ogundele as Chairman of the Ogun State PDP.
2. It is laughable and ludicrous that at a time well-meaning leaders are meeting till late in the night with a view to finding lasting peace to the crisis rocking the PDP, some persons could be celebrating the purported issuance of a letter to OGSIEC in respect of the forthcoming LG election.
3. As captured in a report released earlier today, following the intervention of DSP Ike Ekweremadu, Governor Seriake Dickson, Chairman of the BoT and other well-meaning leaders, Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State, Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State and Senator Buruji Kashamu met today and resolved;
A. That henceforth none of them should interfere in the affairs of any state apart from their home state;
B. That the State Executive Committees as presented constituted and approved by the NEC before the botched National Convention in Port Harcourt, Rivers State in Ogun, Ondo and Ekiti states remain.
C. That the State Excos of the PDP in the three other states of Lagos, Oyo and Osun states will be harmonised and consolidated.
D. That the leaders should always consult among themselves and work harmoniously together going forward.
E. Finally, they resolved to continually work together for the peace, unity and progress of the people and party in the South West.
3. The purported issuance of a letter to one Sikirulai Ogundele as "Chairman of the State Executive Committee" must have been done in error or before Senator Buruji Kashamu gave his nod to the peace process.
4. Besides, the celebration of the so-called letter by the Chairman, Caretaker Committee and the Secretary is an open display of mischief or ignorance, or both.
5. According to Chapter VIII of the PDP Constitution, particularly Article 50 (10a) "For members aspiring for nomination for election to the post of Councillors, Local Government Council Chairman or membership, the deciding authority shall be the State Executive Committee". In effect, the national leadership of the party has no role to play in the nomination of candidates for LG election
6. The so-called letter cannot override valid congresses that have been approved by NEC before the botched May 21st, 2016 National Convention.
7. INEC has since issued Certified True Copies of its reports validating the Ward, LG and State Congresses under the leadership of Engr. Adebayo Dayo.
8. There is also a valid court judgment validating the Engr. Adebayo Dayo-led exco from the ward to the state level.
9. All the above facts put together makes an illusion of grandeur for anyone or group of persons to think that a mere piece of paper of doubtful origin would get them what they could not get on the field and in the courts from Abuja to Lagos and Abeokuta.
10. We have said it before and we will say it again: these people are non-starters and learners - indeed pawns in this game of intrigues, strategies, plots and counter-plots. We have shown that time and again, and we will continue to take the lead while they follow.

Edo 2016:Group Condemns Inec's Decision To Endorse Ize-Iyamu

A pro-Democracy Non-governmental organization - Justice For All Association Of Nigeria (JAAN) has described as an outrageous illegality the decision by the Aminat Zachary -led Inec to recognise Ize Iyamu as the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Edo State.

The group called on INEC to comply with Justice Okon Abang order of the Federal High Court Abuja asking the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) to only recognise the Senator Ali Modu Sheriff’s group in the conduct of any activity of the party including primary elections and congresses for the Edo and Ondo governorship elections.

The group has also called on President Muhamodu Buhari and well-meaning Democrats to speak out against this 'daylight criminality' going on in INEC.

In a Media Statement jointly endorsed by the National Coordinator Comrade Patrick Idahosa and the National Media affairs Director Miss. Blessing Owobu, said: "The persistent breach of competence court of jurisdiction order by INEC and other government agencies is a serious cause for worry.The Attorney general of the federation (AGF) must use his good office in addressing this ugly trend.

"Why would INEC that is also a party in the suits filed by both Sheriff and Makarfi-led groups pick and chose the which court orders and judgment to be obeyed? Can INEC usurp the role of the appellate courts? Why did Amina Zakari chose to ignore the sound legal advice of INEC's Legal Department?"

"President Muhammadu Buhari must prevail on INEC to reverse this decision which is tantamount to a violent rape of democracy and rule of law."

JAAN which expressed consternation at the silence of major stakeholders like the Inspector General of Police(IGP) and the Attorney General of the Federation(AGF) whilst this illegality is about to be actualized and the order of a competence court of jurisdiction eroded by Aminat Zachary-led INEC had further reasoned that if this bad antecedent is allowed then Nigeria can as well kiss goodbye to the constitutional principle of rule of law. ‎

But will that defeat the law of the land? NO it would not. Because, the court of appeal Judgement shall clear the air soon. Let IZe Iyamu work as hard as possible, afterall it'll still be victory to PDP even when the right candidate would come and reap the harvest.

 The problem starts with coming into UK as a visitor or tourist, Nigerians are always in a hurry to ‘check out’ of Nigeria just like Andrew in the famed federal government patriotism TV advertisements, in doing so, they fail to take advantage of other legitimate routes of emigrating to the UK as professionals, Information on such UK migration schemes such as the highly skilled migrant programme and the working holiday maker visas are readily available on the internet but some of us don’t see it because of our mad rush and impatience. Also some have failed to explore other opportunities such as simply applying as health care or educational (teachers/lecturers) professionals, acute shortages of staff in the UK health and educational sectors have opened up this option and nationals from other countries are exploiting the opportunity, but Nigerians have not, preferring rather the short-term route of coming as visitors.

 It used to be that in the past, it was a bit easier for Nigerians to ‘do what they had to do’ in UK in order to obtain their residence permits, but now the EU expansion, and the influx of eastern Europeans into the UK has meant that residency laws have been toughened, on this front, things are no longer as they used to be. Inability to obtain official residency papers is what condemns Nigerians to the low life they live in UK as illegal immigrants, without any state or social entitlements. In the long term, it is not a lifestyle that one would wish on even his enemies; as a result, people are stuck ‘in’, and can’t get ‘out’, as they wouldn’t be able to come back in if they venture out. This has ensured that some Nigerians have not been able to visit their country of birth in a long while, and this adds to their alienation and frustration. 

 And so once they find themselves in UK, they are stuck with the lowly-paid jobs, such as flipping burgers at McDonalds or cleaning other people’s ‘shit’. Life becomes a bore and a drag as they jump from one bus to the other on their way to start the next shift; a sad and hectic life that they must live in order to afford UK’s very exorbitant living expenses.

 There are always people out to make a fast buck from you in London, the town is almost becoming a soul-less city like Lagos, for those stuck in the poverty cycle and living below the bread line (22% of the UK population live in poverty, 1 out of 5 of the population), this type of living surely can’t be good, from the £70 weekly room rents in shared flats and houses, to the over £5 day travel cards, there is also the utility bills (gas and electricity), which is operated on a pay- as- you -use basis, there is no NEPA or NITEL in London to bribe their officials, if your meter credit runs out, then it is between you and your God to save you from freezing in the cold winter.  

 It is at this stage that those who abandoned their lives and career back home, for a ‘rosy’ life in UK begin to regret their decisions, they have no one to complain to, else they will be considered failures. As calls are made to family and friends back home, the moods are saddened the more by the news of career progressions and promotions of colleagues the person has left behind.

Some Nigerians living in the UK always have this false assumption that those they have left behind in Nigeria won’t be climbing the social and economic ladders as well, that they will be waiting for them to come back to Nigeria in their flashy cars, fancy clothes and fake accents to ‘oppress’ them. Sadly this is not the case. By my own estimates, at least 2 out of every 3 Nigerians living in UK will gladly swap places for a settled life and career in Nigeria, no wonder the careers in Africa recruitment event and many of such ‘return to Africa’ schemes are proving to be big hits.

It is better for Mayegun to get stuck into a lowly- paid job rather than SEX SLAVERY.

The Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Prince Buruji Kashamu, has raised the alarm over a plot to either abduct or assassinate him.

In a statement issued today in Lagos, Kashamu said the plot, which involves some powerful politicians, is being coordinated by the Director-General of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Mrs Roli Bode-George, who is the wife of the former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a member of the party's Board of Trustees (BoT).

Kashamu alleged that the plot is to either have him abducted or attacked on the streets or at a social function.

He wondered why anyone would want to usurp legitimate authorities and resort to such crude tactics and self-help in a democratic Nigeria.

"I do not know what I have done to them that they want to do as if Nigeria is a Banana Republic. If anyone thinks he has a case against me, he should approach the courts and allow the rule of law to prevail.

"I wish to urge the masses and Nigerians in general to help me beseech the Almighty Allah who has been my help and shield to continue to protect and guide me from all manner of evil machinations. They should not kill me for my family and the thousands of Nigerians who depend on me for their daily living.

"Politics should not be a do-or-die affair. I will always say and stand by the truth in the interest of the masses. I will always rise above primordial sentiments and selfish interest in all my dealings, in and out of politics," Kashamu said.  

The Senator urged the State, his family members and associates to know those to hold responsible should anything untoward happen to him.

OGUN PDP PRESS STATEMENT ON THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS TIME TABLE AS RELEASED BY OGSIEC. 08/07/2016

The State Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State under the Chairmanship of Engr. Adebayo Dayo met today Friday 8th July 2016 to deliberate on the time table released by the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) for the upcoming local government elections.

At the end of the exhaustive assessment of the timetable and the process thus far, the resolutions reached are hereby presented as follows:

(1). That in line with constitution of our party which stipulates that we field candidates for all lawful elections at all levels, the PDP in Ogun state shall participate in the impending local government elections.

(2). Whereas, we have decided to participate in the election, we are however constrained to observe certain and very fundamental errors on the part of OGSIEC in arriving at the timetable. Such include the following:

A. Inappropriate notice of election  guideline as required by the electoral act by OGSIEC to all parties.

B. Failure of OGSIEC to convene a meeting of all parties and stakeholders where it will be unanimously agreed, the dates of the elections and all other issues therewith.

C. The election dates and timetable is grossly inadequate which does not give parties enough time to run the process of electing its candidates and preparing for the main elections.

(3). That in view of paragraph 2 above, we believe that OGSIEC is an independent body and should not be seen as working to an answer or doing the bidding of a particular party or executive leader.

(4). We condemn the timetable in its entirety and request OGSIEC to review it and come up with a more acceptable guideline that showcase the commission as being fair to all. Nevertheless, our party will commence our internal process to meet with the electoral guideline as released for now.

(5). Consequently we have instructed all wards and local government chapters of our party to present 236 councillorship candidates and 57 local government chairmanship candidates by Tuesday 12th July 2016; where primaries would have been held and concluded.

(6). As a party poised for victory in the forthcoming election, we have decided to encourage every qualified member of our party to contest this election therefore, the expression of interest form is free for everyone and only fees required by OGSIEC (if at all) shall become obligatory.

(7). Importantly, no one shall be excluded from participating in the process of electing the candidates , therefore there shall be no grouping as all groups within the party should freely participate and non shall be favoured over another. Only the best shall emerge via the primaries.

(. We want to also use this medium to state emphatically to the general public and OGSIEC in particular that there are no two PDP state executive in Ogun state and the only legal executive is the one under the chairmanship of Engr. Adebayo Dayo; suffice to say, it is the only one with the responsibility for the party affairs including presenting candidates for all elections.

(9). Not unmindful of the possibility of fifth columnist that may want to work against our party, only the Adebayo Dayo-led state executive SHALL submit names of candidates to OGSIEC for the local government elections. There are certified true copies of our executives list (as attested by the NWC/NEC) and certified true copies of INEC service of same executive to validate it.

(10). Most importantly, there is also the certified copy of several orders and court judgement that authenticates our executive and all actions that will be taken by it between April 2016 and April 2020.

Therefore, it will amount to a criminal contempt of court for OGSIEC, security agencies, anyone or any organization to undermine our party under the guise of a purported factionalisation.

Finally, while we await the electoral body to redress itself accordingly and initiate a clean process, we shall go ahead to satisfy the spirit and letters of the subsisting guideline and timetable. We urge all members of our party to participate in the process of primaries and also campaign vigorously for the election.

The Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Prince Buruji Kashamu  has urged Nigerians to make "self-denial and discipline" a way of life, just he urged the people to pray for unity and peace during and after the Eid-el-Fitri celebrations.

While congratulating Muslims on the successful completion of the Ramadan, the lawmaker also urged Muslim faithful to live in peace with all men and women  and refrain from promoting our socio-political cum ethnic differences.

In a statement he issued today in Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State, Senator Kashamu said the virtues of self-denial, discipline and piety should not just end with the Holy month of Ramadan. 

"Given the challenges that daily confront us as a people and nation, there is no better time for us to make these virtues part of our daily living and a way of life," he said

Senator Kashamu further urged Nigerians to tolerate one another and pray for the leaders and the stability of the nation.

‎He said tolerance remained a vital tool for sustainable peace and political development of any country.

The lawmaker said with tolerance, patriotism, prayer and commitment to nation building, the country would develop and ensure better life for the citizens.

“I want to urge Nigerians to embrace peace for the stability and progress of the nation.

“Peace and stability will enable the country attain sustained socio-economic development and peace,’’ Senator Kashamu said.

The judgement of the Federal High Court PH Division further exacerbates the conflicting position between that Division on the one hand and the Lagos and Abuja Divisions on the other.

The Lagos Division by the hand of two different judges, Buba J. and Idris J. made preservative orders respectively on the 14th and 20th of May in respect of matters that challenged the notice of convention issued for election of replacement for incumbents of the NEC and NWC of the PDP whose tenure had not expired.

The PH Division made orders ex parte on the 23rd of May validating a meeting held in PH by some PDP members as a valid National Convention held pursuant to that Notice, challenged in Lagos and validating a "caretaker Committee" installed at the meeting to replace the officers of the PDP NEC and NWC who were fighting for the continuation of their tenure at the Lagos Division.

That ex parte order lapsed on the 9th of June.

The Abuja Division on the 30th of June made interlocutory orders directing that only the ALIMODU SHERRIFF led NEC/NWC could represent the PDP or conduct its affairs including primaries (This confirmed the previous orders of the Lagos Division. This is a specific order concerning PDP primaries for Edo and Ondo States.

Today the PH Division has restored its lapsed orders in a judgment again validating the PH meeting as a "National Convention" of the PDP, legitimizing the "Caretaker Committee" and the removal and replacement of the NEC and NWC of the PDP in what my clients describe as a coup detat.

Clearly there is need for more to be done to determine which of the conflicting orders should be obeyed.

My clients have therefore instructed that the PH judgment be appealed and INEC and PDP restrained from obeying it until the appeal is heard. The processes are currently being completed for filing today.

We advise INEC to note the above and take legal advise so that it may not find itself in contempt of the valid and subsisting orders of the Abuja Division which are direct and specific concerning the Primaries of the PDP in Ondo and Edo States.

PDP CRISIS: GROUP RAISES ALARM OVER $5MILLION BRIBE SCANDAL

Ahead of tomorrow’s court judgment by Justice Muhammed Liman of the Federal High Court, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, a non-governmental organization, Centre for Equality Before The Law, has raised the alarm over an alleged $5million bribe scam.

In a statement today in Abuja the National Coordinator of the group, Alhaji Danjuma Danladi, said information at its disposal has revealed that the Governor of one of the South South states has been boasting that despite the fact that he knows that they have a bad case; he has done the “needful” to ensure that the judgment goes their way.

The statement reads, “As a group that is committed to equality of all before the law, we owe it a duty to alert Nigerians and the judiciary to a disturbing information at our disposal. We have been reliably informed that a Governor from one of the South South states who has been a key figure in the crisis has been boasting ahead of tomorrow’s (Monday, July 4, 2016) judgment in the leadership crisis rocking the PDP that he has done the needful to ensure that the judgment confers legitimacy on the botched National Convention.

“The Governor has been boasting that a $5 million offer has been made to the trial judge, out of which $2.5million has been delivered by him and his Chief of Staff to the judge; and that once he delivers the judgment confirming the legitimacy of the National Convention, he will be given the balance of $2.5million. The Governor has been boasting that he is 100 percent sure that that is the judgment that will be given.

“He told his brother-governors all of these at the PDP Governor’s Forum Meeting hosted at the Ondo State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.

“In fairness to the trial judge, he has told those mounting pressure on him to close his eyes to the subsisting orders and judgments of his brother judges in favour of the other group that it will be tough task for him to do because of the earlier and subsisting orders of the same court.

“But those pressurizing him have told him to damn the consequences and hand them a favourable judgment, and then leave the aggrieved party to go on appeal. They have been calling him and paying nocturnal visits to him. After much resistance the trial judge is said to have caved in to the pressure and accepted the initial deposit.

“The loud-mouthed Governor also announced to his colleagues that he has always related with the trial judge. He said the judge also likes the good things of life and cited his mansion in Lafia, Nasarawa State, as an example, adding that he has even had to send people to him in Kaduna State.

“It is based on the assurances that they have gotten that made them to constitute the National Campaign Council for Edo State Governorship Election and fixed its launch to coincide with tomorrow when the judgment will be given. The calculation is that the news of the favourable judgment will be broken at the campaign ground so as to boost the morale of their supporters.”

The group noted that it was a dangerous development that will throw the party into deeper confusion and embarrass the judiciary and the entire nation.

It therefore urged the security agencies to monitor and probe the telephone call logs of Justice Liman and those of close aides and acquaintances, adding that it will reveal those who have been talking to him and mounting pressure on him to subvert the cause of justice.

It would be recalled that the FCT High Court had on the 19th May, 2016 delivered a judgment in which it said Senator Ali Modu Sheriff should remain in office pending the conduct of election at a National Convention to elect another National Chairman for the PDP.

 Besides, the judgment affirmed that 16 national officers of the party are to remain in office till 2017 and two others (National Secretary and National Auditor) are to remain till 2018. This is besides the two orders of the Federal High Court, Lagos given on the 12th and 20th of May, 2016. While that of the 12th says elections should not be conducted into the offices of the National Chairman, National Secretary and National Auditor; that of the 20th ordered parties to maintain status quo and refrain from foisting a fait accompli on the court.

All of these (judgment and orders) came first in time and before Justice Liman’s exparte order, last week's judgment and ruling of the FCT High Court.

It is an irony that those who do not have respect for their own party's constitution which provides for four years for party officers and mandatorily give them the right to seek re-election (See Article 47.1 of PDP constitution) and gleefully disobeyed valid and subsisting court orders are the very ones seeking the court’s protection either by hook or crook.

“When issues arose and some of the aggrieved parties approached the court, the court said, ‘wait; don't take any further steps on the contending issues until I am able to resolve them’. They flouted the court orders and did as they liked. Thereafter, the same people who flouted court orders and judgment have now ran to the court in Port Harcourt to seek to confer legitimacy on illegitimacy. We wait to see if the trial judge will put a lie to the time-tested principle enunciated by Lord Denning said that ‘you cannot put something on nothing and expect it to stand’,” the group added.

An Abuja High Court has sacked the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ahmed Makarfi

Justice Okon Abang of the Fed­eral High Court, Abuja reaf­firmed Ali Modu Sheriff as chairman and leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, with an attendant order for the Independent Electoral Com­mission, INEC to accord him the nec­essary recognition by accepting his nominees for the governorship elec­tions in Edo and Ondo states, Daily Sun reports this morning

An enrolment order of the court in suit FHC/ABJ/CS/SC/2016, brought before him, the judge stated that the Ahmed Makarfi Caretaker Commit­tee lacks legitimacy in the eyes of the law, and cannot take any action on behalf of the PDP.


Justice Abang who had earlier asked Makarfi’s lawyers to leave his court had noted that the circum­stances of Makarfi’s emergence as a caretaker chairman of the PDP was both suspicious and in breach of ear­lier court orders.

While making references to earlier court rulings of May 12 and 20, 2016, as having foreclosed the emergence of new set of leaders for the party, Justice Abang stressed that Senator Ali Modu Sheriff remains the lawful chairman.
The judge ordered the Indepen­dent National Electoral Commission, INEC to accept nominations of candi­dates for the governorship elections in Edo and Ondo states from the Sheriff leadership and not from any other person or persons or their proxies.

Edo/Ondo 2016: Court restrains INEC from accepting nominations from Makarfi's panel

Ahead of the September 10, 2016 governorship election in Edo State, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been restrained from accepting any nomination (s) from the Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led National Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).


Delivering a ruling in a Motion on Notice, Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court, Abuja, held that since there was a pall of doubt about the legality of the emergence of the Makarfi-led Panel in view of the subsisting orders of the court made on 12th and 20th of May, 2016 respectively, the court was inclined to declare that the Senator Ali Modu Sheriff-led national leadership of the party is the only body known to law that can validly organise primary election and  ‎nominate candidates for the governorship primary elections in Edo and Ondo states.


The Federal High Court in Lagos had on the said dates given orders restraining PDP and INEC from taking any steps that could foist a fait accompli on the court, just as 

well as restrained PDP and INEC from conducting and recognising any elections into the offices of the National Chairman, National Secretary and National Auditor of the party respectively. 


Ruling today after taking arguments from the counsel to the plaintiffs and defendants in the suit filed by two chieftains of the PDP from Ondo and Edo states - Chief Benson Akingboye and Hon. Ediozuwa Agbonayinma - filed the suit against INEC and PDP, the court held that the balance of justice was more in favour of the Sheriff-led national leadership of the PDP.


While the plaintiffs were represented by Prince Ajibola Oluyede; Mr. Olagoke Fakunle (SAN) and Mr. Tanimu Inuwa‎ appeared for PDP and INEC respectively.


After taking submissions from the counsel to the parties, the court granted the following prayers, to wit: " an order of interlocutory injunction restraining the 1st Defendant (INEC) by itself, officers, servants or privies from dealing with or according any recognition to any activity (including primaries/congresses for the nomination of the candidates of the PDP for the gubernatorial elections to be conducted by the 1st Defendant in Edo and Ondo states of the Federal Republic of Nigeria) purportedly conducted on behalf of the 2nd Defendant (PDP) by any other persons or group of persons other than the Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, Professor Wale Oladipo and Alh. Fatai Adeyanju led National Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) pending the hearing and determination of the originating summons.


"An order of interlocutory injunction restraining the 1st (INEC) and 2nd Defendants (PDP) by their organs, officers, agents, servants, surrogates and privies from according recognition to, dealing with and according all facilities required by law (regarding the gubernatorial elections to be conducted by the 1st Defendant (INEC) in Edo and Ondo states of Nigeria) to any other persons or group of persons other than the Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, Professor Wale Oladipo and Alh.
