Politics › Re: Tope Fasua: You Can Get A Meal For ₦2,500 In Lekki: Tinubu's Aide Defends Naira by patrickcollins: 9:29am On Apr 09, 2025
Nnamdipapa:
You need to learn and listen to people with real life experiences, If you don't pay a mortgage, you must pay your rents which are very similar in amount to mortgages abroad.
But the issue is that minimum wage over there can cover rent expenses, feeding and other welfares. But not the same for Nigeria.
Politics › Re: Tope Fasua: You Can Get A Meal For ₦2,500 In Lekki: Tinubu's Aide Defends Naira by patrickcollins: 7:39am On Apr 09, 2025
Nnamdipapa:
Rent/ mortgages are similar. Rent means paying other people's mortgages. Are you planning on living homeless on the streets?
Oga no one working abroad relies on mortgage for rent payment unless you are buying a property, once you are legally working the minimum wage over there covers your rent, here in Nigeria 70k minimum wage can't even feed one let alone cater for other expenses
Politics › Re: Tope Fasua: You Can Get A Meal For ₦2,500 In Lekki: Tinubu's Aide Defends Naira by patrickcollins: 7:33am On Apr 09, 2025
Nnamdipapa:
Why exactly are people cursing this man? Why don't you refute his statements? I pay more than N600k every month in utilities abroad per month, N3.2M in mortgage for one house alone per month, I will never pay 20% of that in Nigeria. You people never see anything good in your country. Between August last year and February this year, I was paying about N6m per month in mortgages which included an empty house under renovation. You want me to tell you how much I pay in taxes per month?

Abroad go bill you like crazy, Imagine your own house in Naija with no mortgage and a 24hour solar light? O boy, Naija na paradise on earth I swear.
Were you forced to pay for mortgages, may be you are doing it for investment, are you paying for mortgages for feeding over there. Here you wouldn't have the Chance for mortgage payment. Again do you earn 70,000 Naira minimum wage monthly

China is not Zimbabwe.
Neither is Xi Jinping looking forward to future elections or public approval rating.
China will do whatever it can to fight.

Chinese economy will be hit but no Chinese will or can complain unlike Americans.
Trump(Sorry Americans) will lose very badly if this continues.
Chinese people are still complaining, their population is way too much, you still have good population of Chinese people living in poverty

One thing I like Tinubu for is his courage, no president can take the step he has been taken in their first time in office
Those courageous steps are inflicting severe hardship to Nigerians and have equally wrecked our economy. What has he achieved so far

Senator Neda Imasuen has spoken well.

Tinubu is a courageous leader and that is what Nigeria needs at this time.
The man has said nothing why Tinubu deserves second tenure, what has he achieved so far, the tax law he mentioned is still stalling, if he were to be a courageous man it would have been passed.

When ahmadu Bello told us about this people in d past many of us never believed it but now we see it clearly..

Ahmadu Bello said n I quote *allow an Igbo man into a section of a camp n with time he will start claiming ownership of d camp*

The Igbos were allowed into labor party when they were stranded n today everyone is the enemy n they are trying to take over the party.

At first lamidi apapa was the enemy they made us believe, now it's abure, before u know it an Igbo man will become the labor party chairman.

This further solidify the claim that when u help an Igbo man in distress when he settles down he's coming for your head

Reason nobody will pally with them to get presidency
It seems Igbo people are living rent free in your head you bigot, supreme court have given judgement that Abure is not the chairman of Labour party deal with that

Nigerian government has shown a commendable resilience in the face of these challenges. The proactive approach to diversify and strengthen trade ties is the way to go.

This is a test for the Nigerian economy and I believe we will come out stronger.
Which commendable resilience are you talking about, una go just dey blow grammar, what different have they done so far, if not to admitt the tarrif hike because individuals will shoulder the responsibility

maasoap:
Good for Zimbabweans. I hope Nigerian government follows the same step, make the prices of all imports from USA crash in our market. Never!! Tinubu will never do that even if Trump raise the tariffs on the imports from Nigeria to 50% as retaliation or reduce it to 0% as a good gesture grin grin
He doesn't care what Nigerians go through, provided it would be paid by Nigerians but we keep on subsidizing his tourism to France always
Politics › Re: How Nigeria Can Survive New US Import Tariffs, By Experts by patrickcollins: 5:32pm On Apr 06, 2025

US trade with Nigeria has been shrinking over the years. Our money spinners are the trades with China, E.U , India and Africa. Whoever is hyping trade with US is wasting time. We should increase our trade with our good customers.
Just say our import from China is enormous, does Nigeria export goods to china

The same people who condemned Buhari for closing the border because rice will celebrate this.

Meanwhile such draconian rules no longer apply. You use your area of strength to compensate and compete.

USA has the intellect while China has the labour. That's the essence of globalisation. Companies will rather pay the tariffs than manufacture in the US because of the cost of labour
How dare you compare Nigeria under Buhari to America on Trump, America is million miles ahead of Nigeria

Currency strength is not about exchange rate to the dollar.

An illiterate from vanguard wrote this list.

Currency power is about purchasing power.

If Nigeria redenomiate it's currency like Ghana did and we removed 00 from 1k.
1usd = 1.50usd

Does that change the purchasing power?
Those countries mentioned there have higher purchasing power than Nigeria

But Nigerians paying the 27% Tarrifs imposed on all goods coming from American seem quite okay with you. Since we are paying, Americans should pay too don't show concern for them

Ironfaceman:
If you follow my discourse on this trump high handedness, one thing I try to let people know is this. The US economy is shrinking not because of immigrants taking jobs. Its because the world is buying China 🇨🇳

I can bet that everything in your house is from China.
The furnitures
Kitchen utensils
Electronics.

US needs to strategies how to make affordable products and services.
It's of cheap labour, workers in the US can't collect meagre wages Chinese people collect per hour and those big companies into production in China some are American companies moved over there for lower cost of production
