774 fellows of the National Health Fellows program has been declared HIRED today by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The declaration was made during the inauguration of the successful applicants who have been meritoriously selected across the 774 local governments in the country.

By this declaration, the fellows will be engaged on a permanent basis after completion of their one year fellowship program.

Days of struggling to renew passports are now over for Nigerians in UK, Ireland and other parts of Europe as the @nigimmigration launches the contactless passport application system.

What to know

- The latest launch of the system in Europe is coming few months after the first phase of the system was launched and successfully implemented in Canada.

- Nigerians in UK, Ireland and other parts of Europe can now apply for their passport renewal from the comfort of their homes seamlessly.

- This marks a major shift from the traditional system of struggling with renewal where embassies give appointment dates after dates sometimes without success.

- The next phase of the implementation is expected to ensure same applies to all Nigerians home or abroad as the @officialABAT-led administration continues to modernize and humanize government services to make life easier for everyone.

- The new system is another initiative of the Federal ministry of interior as led by HM @BTOofficial.

RADIOTHERAPY PATIENTS IN NIGERIA TO GET N400,000 SUBSIDY AS FG INTRODUCES COST SHARING INITIATIVE.

As part of efforts to improve access to cancer care in Nigeria, the Federal Government, through @nhia_nigeria, has launched a cost-sharing initiative that will ensure patients undergoing radiotherapy gets a subsidy of up to N400,000.

This initiative was introduced to address the high cost of radiotherapy which constitutes a major part of cancer treatment.

For many Nigerians treating cancer, radiotherapy has always been a major challenge due to the high cost of accessing it. The National Health Insurance Authority is thus introducing a 50% subsidy capped at N400,000 for such patients.

The @nhia_nigeria is currently partnering with multiple oncology facilities across Nigeria to make radiotherapy services available for more Nigerians.

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved several key road projects across Nigeria, with a total allocation of over N1.3 trillion. The approved projects are aimed at improving the country's transportation infrastructure and enhancing economic growth.

— The projects include the construction of an access road in Delta State, which has been allocated N470.9 billion. Additionally, N148 billion has been earmarked for the construction of an access road to the Second Niger Bridge in Anambra State.

— Lagos-Ibadan Expressway (Phase 2, Section 1) has received approval for reconstruction, with an allocation of N195 billion as part of the Presidential Infrastructure Development Fund (PIDF).

— FEC has also approved the reconstruction of three segments of the Lokoja-Benin road, with a total budget of N305 billion. The project will be fully executed with concrete.

— Other approved projects include the comprehensive structural evaluation of the Third Mainland Bridge and Carter Bridge in Lagos, with a contract value of N3.571 billion. The Ado-Ekiti–Igede Road Project has been allocated N5.4 billion, while the Onitsha-Owerri expressway has been allocated N22 billion.

— The Wusasa-Jos route in Kaduna State has received approval for an allocation of N18 billion, while Abia and Enugu states have been allocated N12.75 billion for a collaborative road project.

— The FEC has also sanctioned N252 billion for the Abuja-Kano highway, which has been divided into two primary segments.

According to David Umahi, the Minister of Works, the majority of upcoming infrastructure initiatives will utilize reinforced concrete pavement, which is more durable and cost-effective in the long run.

Under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Nigeria is poised for transformative progress, and these projects will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on the nation's development.
