I was told by support to use the transaction receipt from my credit card statement as proof of payment. Drop off appointment is next weeks so fingers crossed it works.

Please, after payment and answering questions for the interview waiver I was told I was eligible and I selected yes to go ahead but the thing is, the calendar is greyed out and I can’t even see December 2024 or year 2025 even after selecting lagos. Also, the top of the calendar is saying consulate appointment. Is this right for Dropbox

My dashboard has also auto generated a POST appointment letter but all info is blank. I’m just so confused, I just want to make sure I’m doing the right thing.

Please any solutions?

My appointment letter did not include any details until a date was picked. I believe it was the consulate calendar I picked from. I've been checking to see if I can get an earlier date in Lagos but all I'm being provided is January 2026 in Lagos and March 2026 in Abuja. These dates are crazy. I can maybe understand for interview but makes no sense to wait over a year for drop box.

I don't believe so. You can pick up by proxy but I believe you have to submit in person.

That’s what I did. According to the FAQs on the website you can do so as the Abuja consulate will have access to DS-160 when scanning the bar code on the confirmation sheet.

Yes I did for the three times I paid and I was able to save the receipt.

You're lucky. The site kept hanging after I paid, and then I was directed to the questions. No payment confirmation screen.

I used a US based bank card. Not sure about Nigerian bank dollar cards.

Please does anyone know if OIS accepts drop offs and pick ups via proxy. What do I need to get this done.Thanks in advance.

This is wild!!!. This is why they won't resolve the issue. They really need to look into people who qualify for waiver and fix the system glitch, especially as the consulate appointment dates are so far into the future . There needs to be someone with the decency and conscience to do the right thing . People having to pay twice is very unjust.

I agree. The new issue is that I paid with my dollar card, but did not get a payment confirmation, but the money has ben taken off my card and I was able to make an appointment. Now I don't have proof of payment. I think I may use the old first bank receipt that was paid first since that is valid for a year. Fingers crossed that they accept it.

You can only get the option to download and print the IW letter when you have picked a date because the letter carries the details of the time and date you have chosen. After answering all the questions, it tells you that from the answers you gave that you are qualified for IW and further asks you if you would want want to explore that option, upon an affirmative response then it takes you directly to the calender and maybe I was lucky or the date was just available at the time, I got the 26th of November, 2024. You can always pick the date you can see so that you can conclude the process then get the IW letter after which you can use the reschedule option to be checking better dates.......

Thank you for the information. Although, I have asked on the other thread, did you pay another visa fee? If not, what did you do to the initial interview appointment? Also, did you change the passport number on the newly created profile?

I paid another fee but didn’t change the passport number.

There are actually dates on the consulate calendar as at yesterday (Friday) because I went through the process and after responding to all the questions, it took me directly to the Interview waiver section and I picked Tuesday the 26th which is less than a week.

Ps: I didnt click on the waiver option because in my head it is a settled thought that I was going in for a regualr appointment, I clicked on the blanket option for the annotation and answered all the questions normally and it still took me to the IW section .........This thing is just unpredictable sometimes......

I believe I got interview waiver for my mom but the calendar says consulate appointment and only available dates for Lagos are end of January? I did also get an option to print out a IW letter but I have not picked a day yet. Just confused if this means she got the IW or not.

So after getting directed to interview, I created a new account for my mom and was able to get interview waiver. My issue is that the only appointments for Lagos drop-off are end of January. Yes we picked a date from the calendar. If it’s showing next year it’s likely you are for physical appointments. We checked on Wednesday (20/11/2024) and saw dates from Thursday (21/11/2024).

Yes, I selected empty when I scheduled for myself and my kids in October and we got IW but when I tried this for my friend last week it took him straight to physical appointment. We had to select waiver for his wife and kids and they got IW. This new portal is really crazy, you just have to pay attention when filling that part to be sure of where it is taking you to else you won’t go back. I read that someone selected other and he got IW.

Wanted to start a page to discuss and track issues on the new AVITS site regarding Drop Box and Interview Waiver issues. My mother qualifies for drop box but everytime I get directed to Consulate Appointments. Even the interview waiver letter has not yet been received.

I know others have complained of the same issue, and I though it would be good to have one central place to discuss and track the issue.
