Peakdesign23: 1. Most opportunities won't come twice. 2. Nobody really cares about you. 3. Don't try to please anyone but God. 4. As a lady, if your blood group is anything O, like O+, O- do not hesitate to get married early because child bearing might be difficult in your late 20's and thirties. unless you don't really care about kids. Avoid abortion at all cost while you're young! 5. Avoid anything friends! 6. Just because someone is smiling with you doesn't mean that they love you, perhaps if you see what's in their heart, you'll forever avoid them. 7. Don't just assume that connection will come to you. Go out! Meet new people, anything good can come out of it. 8. Don't ever take your security for granted, wherever you live, make sure it's well secured, don't keep your pots of cooked rice or whatever close to your kitchen windows. Even the neighbours aren't to be trusted sometimes. 9. Whenever you call any electrician or anyone to come and fix something in your house, do not be so quick to leave, stay there with them and monitor every thing. Don't give them food, let them work and leave. 10. Never tell people your sources of income or what you earn, not even family members.
Let me stop here for now. The part in your point 9 "Don't give them food, let them work and leave. Please can you explain more on that, because I'm one that always make sure I give food if the work involved long hours. |

Sermwell: I see both online and offline how people freak out at the sight of a celebrity. Some even go as far as rushing or grabbing them.
I have never been to any show, let alone wanting to go up stage to grab a celebrity. I saw how a young man was kicked by Burna Boy and I felt really disgusted because such nonsense can never happen to me.
Early last year, I was on the 6th floor at BUA Group headquarters in Victoria Island where I saw Tekno and Davido sitting down at the reception having a chat, I just greeted them and sat down. I also saw how every other person on that floor was minding their business and don't really give a damn about their presence.
When I told a cousin how I feel weird on how people go crazy at the sight of these celebrities, he said it's not normal but I strongly disagree with him. I even told him how some staff at BUA Group didn't give a damn about Davido"s presence, he insisted that they are not also normal.
Do you guys here share my views, or do you think it's not normal? Feel same way you do. You are very normal bro. Those guys are just like any other guys on the street, nothing special about them. |

Sydney Sheldon is my all time favorite but between those two you listed Kane and Abel was the best, but not as great as wind mills of the God and master of the game by Sydney Sheldon. Same bloodline too. I read those books over 5 times each. 3 Likes |

ThierryJay: Thanks!
Sadly, it's been years since I've last read a novel. Most of the ones I read were when I was between 9 - 24 years. Can't seem to find the motivation to create the time any longer.
But the beautiful memories will never go away. Same here. I keep telling myself I'll go back to reading books once again soon but the hustle of life has taking away all the time to relax with a great book. God, how I have missed reading like crazy. It give me the most satisfying joy ever. Just so you know we both seem to have almost the same favorite author. 2 Likes 1 Share |

ThierryJay: Harry Potter series 1 - 7 by J.K Rowling is the most interesting and engaging piece of literature I've ever read, but I don't consider it a novel due to the length.
For proper novels, my best five are:
1. Windmill of the Gods - Sidney Sheldon (The don of unexpected twists, mindblowing suspense and action. Number 1 for a reason)
2. By the light of the moon - Dean Koontz (Exciting mystery, thriller, gave me my first insight into fictional nanotechnology)
3. Kane & Abel - Jeffery Archer (a masterpiece in family politics, plots & business intrigues)
4. Shogun - James Clavell (Greatest epic book imo. My first introduction to Seppuku and other Asian practices)
5. Beyond Pardon - Bertha M. Clay (greatest romance novel in my opinion and to think it was written since 1890)
Locally, my best five:
1. The Gods are not to blame - Ola Rotimi
2. Arrows of God - Chinua Achebe
3. An African night's entertainment - Cyprian Ekwensi
4. A gift to the troubled tribe - Segun Okunoren
5. Shaka Zulu (the funny names like bulawayo, dingiswayo were so fascinating to me at the time combined with the epic plot)
By the way who remembers the book below: Smile. Great list 15 Likes 2 Shares |
