Work permits for parent and visiting visa for infant.
Took 69days after biometrics instead of the proposed two weeks.

Mine took 100 days. I have gotten my PPR stamped and ready to go

I think you should proceed. You can wait behind till the kid gets approved. You have your visa anyway

1, if I can start applying now even though my international passport is not ready yet or I must have my passport ready before I can start applying.

2, Also if the whole process took like 1 year, less than a year or greater than a year. Starting from the first day of applying for the very first job ever applied for on this course to when he eventually got to Canada.

2. IRCC is really messing up a lot. No timeline, but their websites says 57weeks from the day of biometrics.

1, My passport renewal is taking time. Like I don’t know when it would be ready. Do you think I should wait to get my international passport before I start searching and applying for jobs with LMIA or can I start applying for the jobs while still waiting for my passport to be ready?

2, About how long did the whole process take you? Ranging from the very first day you started applying for the jobs to the day you got to Canada.

Fingers crossed. Are you working remotely yet? In my case, I am not. My company only allows that when I am in the country

1. Flight ticket was around 2.9m for 3 of us.

2. My employer wasn't going to pay for my accommodation, no agreement of such so it was all paid by me. They helped with securing the apartment though.

3. I doubt jobs are readily available anywhere. My spouse isn't working at this moment sef. It all depends on your industry and experience. But I don't expect it to be as rigorous as what we have in Naija but it's also not on a platter of gold.

4. Of course if eligible and does makes immigration sense. This depends on the PR route too.

1. what was the cost of the flight ticket?
2. Do you also have to pay for Airbnb when you are aware that your employer is going to provide an accomodation probably upon arrival which is part of the contract ?
3. With spouse open work permit, are jobs readily available or spouse have do a rigorous job hunting to secure one.
4. Can spouse who is a dependent and have an open work permit be the primary applicant for PR?
I'm really optimistic.

Not yet o. I’m even hearing of Nairobi office being slow and misplacing ones case file. None of the guys here too have. I think we are three now here lol

Not yet. Agent said it normally takes up to 10-18 weeks for approval. I'm patiently waiting for this slow and sure route.

Chest x-ray( tuberculosis, asthma etc), urinalysis, vital signs, eye test, medical history.
I paid 164k for family of 4. Family of 3 will be less

Wahala. Their process is just messed up. You need to see the negative reviews online. For the fact that they make u stuck and not making any decision with your life is somehow

We have various threads on Canada migration here on nairaland but I could not find any that relates to migrating to Canada via a closed work permit.
Closed work permits are usually for work permits tied to a particular company, i.e you are getting the work permit only for that role in the specified company.
I am currently in the last stage of the process which is awaiting work permit application decision from IRCC.

For me, LMIA was approved February. I applied for closed work permit March 29 2022.
Do we have people going through this process? Please share your timelines

Thanks rockford for this. I have been looking for a topic like this on nairaland, nothing so far. I am in the same dilemma right now. Did biometrics with my family since June 30. Up till now, no response. Used company immigration lawyers too. It is demoralizing with this no tracking issue. I have heard some people say it took up to a year also. I dont know where to place my hope on as I am currently frustrated in my current company here in naija.
