PDP Reconciliation: You Shared Rice At Christmas With Tinubu & Wike's images Inscripted On It - Activist Njoku Berates Ikpeazu

A human rights activist and author, Comrade Paul Ikechukwu Njoku, has stated that the immediate former governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, was completely incompetent and clueless throughout his reign as the executive governor of the State.

Activist Paul said Mr. Ikpeazu who was entrusted with power failed to deliver good governance to the people of the State after 8 years in power.

This comes after Okezie Ikpeazu and the state party chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Elder Amah Abraham, on Saturday, January 25, described PDP defectors as hungry elements who cannot endure hunger.

Recall that while addressing Abia South party faithfuls in his Obingwa country home when the state PDP Working Committee paid him a visit, Okezie said the party has learnt its lessons and will not fail again.

Ikpeazu said, “We did to ourselves what is happening to us. If we want to correct it, we can. When I was hosting the Reconciliation Committee, I told them that their mandate by my own interpretation is not to reconcile aggrieved party people alone. Something is holding everybody, including me. This is because, anybody who has not reconciled himself, cannot reconcile another person”.

But comrade Paul in a statement he made available to the press while reacting to Ikpeazu’s blacklash said, “Ikpeazu should hide his face in shame and apologize to Abians for his naivety, extreme deceit, consequential clueless gesture and gross incompetence as governor of Abia State.

“In a bid to unknowingly manifest his inconsistent and unreliable personality traits, he refused to confide to his party stooges that he is endlessly waiting for a political appointment in the President Tinubu APC-led government yet preaching reconciliation for those who left the PDP..

"'During the 2024 Christmass celebration, Ikpeazu refused to explain why he shared APC-bags of rice with the images (faces) of President Bola Tinubu and that of the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesome Wike, inscripted on the bags of rice. He distributed the rice to the people and his stooges whereby simultaneously preaching reconciliation at the PDP platform.where he denigrated the PDP defectors in the State. How come is he talking about those eating "spirit" food whilst he is a deceitful partaker of the so called "spirit" food? I therefore challenge him to tell the world "who is deceiving who"?

“Ikpeazu has failed to realize that most people leaving the PDP are doing so because of the disdain they have for him including his total lack of control of the party. I am astonished that he does not know that essential personalities are leaving the psrty because he is entrusting the party management to his stooges”.

The civil rights activist challenged the former governor to proof that he funded both the 2023 PDP governorship flag-bearers, late Professor Uchenna Ikonne and Mr. Okey Ahiwe to actually win the elections.

In his words, he said, “Ikpeazu lacks the leadership and electoral values in all strata.. Can he ever win an election? I was born and bred here and I have spent half of my life in Umuahia. I am not resident in the diaspora. I therefore challenge Ikpeazu to proof that he funded both the 2023 PDP governorship flag-bearers, late Professor Uchenna Ikonne and Mr. Okey Ahiwe to actually win the elections. Lies cannot prevail all the time.

“I also challenge the former governor to show evidence to those around him of mobilization and efforts made by him to reconcile party members before the primaries and subsequent elections.

“I advise Ikpeazu to toe the part of self dignity by shutting–up his mouth and stop reminding Abians of his existence. There are a lot of information of his uncouth betrayal of Professor Ikonne which abounds. He should not be reminding people of his journey to his filthy pursuit.

“He was completely an incompetent governor who was elected and entrusted the power of governance but declined to be focused on the dividends of leadership, human capital development, infrastructural development, payment of salaries, payment of pensions, probity and accountability even as no one prevented him to write his name in gold as a governor with constitutional and executive powers to deliver.

“Suffice to say that despite not fulfilling any of his campaign promises, his unprovoked tirades and tantrums against the PDP decampees lack originality and comprehensivess having singlehandedly destroyed Abia equity and political formation by his dangerous negotiations and lily- livered alignment with his pretentious allies who could not see him elected as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under his party platform.

“I make bold to say that Ikpeazu’s sychophantic and notable wide-ranging overview of the political activities of his insidious government that superintended over the affairs of Abia State from 2015-2023 cannot be over-emphasized as he has permanently suffered immense political dislocation, relevance and credibility to swiftly sing a vicissitude of fortune and hope”.

PoliticsEnyinnaya Nwafor Paid Don Ubani N5m To Attack Gov. Ikpeazu - Ex-LGA Chair by PeeKayh(op): 8:25pm On Jan 28, 2022
Succession Plot: Enyinnaya Nwafor Paid Don Ubani N5m to Attack Ikpeazu - ex-LGA Chair

As the jostle for Abia governorship seat in 2023 gradually gathers momentum, Enyinnaya Nwafor, son of late former deputy governor of the state, Dr. Chima Nwafor, has been fingered in the recent media attack on Governor Okezie Ikpeazu by Deputy Chief of Staff to the Abia Deputy Governor, Mr Don Ubani.

Mr. Ubani had lambasted Governor Ikpeazu over alleged plot by the Governor to marginalise or betray the Old Aba division and handover power to a successor from Old Bende bloc, 'contrary to an existing agreement,' in exchange for a seat at the Senate in 2023, tagging the Governor a 'serial betrayal'.

Nwafor from Umunnato political bloc comprising three Ngwa councils in Abia Central senatorial district, who is currently nursing ambition to succeed Governor Ikpeazu in 2023, allegedly paid Mr. Ubani the sum of N5 Million Naira to launch coordinated media attack on the Governor and other political leaders in the state.

The plan, it was gathered, was hatched recently in his home and Mr. Ubani has begun executing the hatchet job, a source privy to the arrangement told this Reporter, warning that leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia must call Ubani to order immediately.

It was reliably gathered that Ubani is likely to launch social media opinion posts (during the course of the attacks) massaging select political leaders’ ego as a distraction, “...the people should not be surprised even when Ubani comes up with outright denials or flimsy excuses, he is only playing according to the script,” the source added.

The source, a former council Chairman in Obingwa LGA, who claimed that he was first approached by Enyinnaya Nwafor to do the job, recalled how the latter hinted the former Commissioner for Information and Strategy (Ubani) would do the job if he (the source) was not ready to take the offer.

He said: “I can tell you for free that Ubani will not stop the attacks if he is not stopped immediately by leaders, some (of the attacks) will come disguised as opinions, he (Ubani) can go at any length,” while fingering an unnamed chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state as backing Ubani on the mission.

The source added: “Ubani was already embittered that the Governor recently blocked a contract he (Ubani) was eyeing and see this (attack) job as an opportunity and avenue to take a 'pound of flesh',” warning however that the mission could be suicidal if Mr. Ubani does not put a stop to it immediately.

Enyinnaya Nwafor's gubernatorial ambition is heavily dependent on the plot by Ukwa la Ngwa people to hold onto power beyond 2023, an ambition pundits say may not see the light of the day without Governor Ikpeazu's support.

Efforts to reach Mr. Ubani on his known phone line proved abortive, a mail sent to his email address was yet to receive any attention as at the time of filing this report. But the Deputy Governor's Aide, who believes that the Ukwa La Ngwa people will not forgive Governor Ikpeazu should he handover power to a successor outside the Old Aba bloc in 2023, has never hidden his preference for an Old Aba zone successor.

Meanwhile, a Spokesman for Enyinnaya Nwafor could not be immediately reached for comments.

When contacted, the Abia State Commissioner for Information and strategy, Barr. Eze Chikamnayo did not respond to our correspondent calls and text messages.
