THE SEAT OF GLORY is a story of a youngman named Kolade. He has a special seat which he inherited from his father who also inherited it from his own father and down to their ancestors. It was believed that the seat is the symbol of the glory of the family. It was handed down from generation to another generation because it had not yet gotten to the person destined to activate the glory. It was told to Pa Akinsakin who was Kolade's father that Kolade was the one foretold by the oracle to unveil the glory but the procedure was not communicated to him by his father.
The seat of glory has been with Kolade wrapped in white cloth. It was carefully placed in his room with an instruction that prohibits any member of the family to go near it. Few years later, Kolade was in serious financial problem. He was known in the town to be lazy, jobless and always dependent on friends. He borrowed some money from one of his friends named Lanre for his family welfarism. He intended to pay back in three months but unfortunately for Kolade, he couldn't pay back because he had no other source of income. The debt became a heavy yoke on him till Lanre got angry and brought two hefty body guards to get his money. He couldn't get the money that day but with the help of his guards, he snatched Kunle who was Kolade's son and took him away from his parents as ransom for the #50,000 that Kolade borrowed. Kolade and his wife couldn't believe what Lanre did. Also, there was nobody to defend or assist them financially for the rescue of Kunle. So, Kolade went out for help. He met a friend and begged for financial assistance. The friend, Tobi suggested that Kolade should consult a Pastor, Alfa or an Ifa priest that would deliver him from all his challenges because he sensed that Kolade's financial problem had a spiritual undertone. Kolade ignored Tobi's advice and met another friend who was a farmer coming from his farm. Lakunle advised Kolade to go see an old woman who lived in the outskirt of the town very close to the deep forest. She was known for loaning money to people. Kolade found this interesting. He quickly went to meet the old woman for money. The old woman demanded for the special seat in Kolade's house as a collateral for the loan. At first, Kolade was surprised that the old woman got to know about the seat he inherited from his father but he never fretted about giving her the seat for the money. The deal between Kolade and the old woman was that, Kolade wanted to borrow #50,000 but the old woman wanted to lend him #100,000 so he could pay the debt of #50,000 and use the balance to start up a small business. There was an agreement that the borrowed money must be returned the same day in the next two months but in the meantime, the seat of glory will be in the custody of the old woman. For the eagerness of Kolade, he went straight home to bring the seat and gave it to the old woman. She collected it and gave Kolade the money he requested for with a warning that if he failed to return the money he borrowed at the appointed time, he should forget his seat in her custody.
Kolade accepted. He went straight to Lanre's house and got his son back. He also used the remaining money to set up a small retail business for his wife according to the advice of Mama but unfortunately for him, the business did not make progress. It happened that all the food stuffs that were meant to be sold out to make profit were used as the meal of the family. It got to the time for Kolade to return the money, he could not. So, he abandoned the seat with the old woman. Then his suffering became double. He started making findings to get another help out his predicament. Tobi came to the rescue. He lured him to see a man of God whom he recently heard of. The pastor told him about the essence of the seat and he added that Kolade needed the help of Christ to deliver the seat from the old woman and without the seat, it would be difficult for Kolade to be successful in life. The Pastor told Kolade that the glory embedded in the seat will only be activated by fasting and prayers but first we have to get the seat from the evil woman.
On the final saga of the story, Kolade and his wife went to the old woman with the money to return it and retrieve the seat. The old woman reminded Kolade of the agreement they had on their transaction. Mama Kunle, Kolade's wife stirred up an argument with the old woman. The old woman got angry and turned her into a barking dog. Few seconds before then, Kolade too had started exchanging words with the old woman, he wanted to run into the old woman's hut to take the seat, the woman struck him with the rod in her hand. Kolade ran away as fast as he could and few minutes later, he returned with the pastor. Pastor Sam was surprised when he saw Mama Kunle barking like a dog. He laid his right hand on her head as he spoke in tongues. After some seconds, the Pastor shouted the name of Jesus and Mama Kunle returned to normal. Pastor chastised Kolade for the foolish act for coming to challenge the old woman instead of following his lead. Kolade said he had prayed with his wife before coming but the Pastor insisted that it was not to just pray but to follow due procedures as laid down by the spirit of God. The Pastor returned to the old woman. He talked with her with intention to make her handover the seat in peace but the old woman was adamant. She started reciting some incantations. The Pastor too continued to pray and speak in tongues. The old woman wanted to hit the pastor with the rod in her hand but the pastor stretched the Bible in his hand towards the old woman and with a loud shout of the name of Jesus, the old woman fell gradually and began to cry begging the Pastor not to kill her. She ordered that Kolade should go and carry his seat and all of them should leave her domain at once. The Pastor went into the old woman's house to bring the seat. He gave it to Kolade and they left the presence of the old woman who lied on the ground like a dead person. Few years later, Kolade had prayed and fasted according to the instructions of the Pastor. He became a rich man who owned a big factory where he employed many youths of the town and beyond. He built a mall for his wife; his children were doing great in school and everybody around him benefited from his success. Because of Kolade, the people of the community learnt a lesson that a nobody can still become somebody.

Some notable lessons from the story
- good inheritance should be handed down to new generation not the other way round.
- working hard is best appreciated not depending on others
- loaning money except for the intention of investment is not a reasonable thing.
- it is wrong to look down on people. No one knows tomorrow.
- don't lend people money that you cannot give out for free. It can lead to conflict if the person finds it difficult to pay back.
- if it is necessary that you borrow money, make sure it is from someone that you know and trust. A strange lender could be very dangerous.
- in any difficulty a person finds himself, God is the best way out.
- a nobody can still become somebody. Treat people with fairness.

THE STORYLINE
Behind the Pulpit is a story about some notable members of a church. Most especially the choirmaster and one of his female backups. The choirmaster’s name was Brother Solomon and the female backup was Sister Ada. The youths of the church prepared for their convention at a certain time when this story came to place. The evangelism unit produced several leaflets in conjunction with the youth group to go out for procession and to distribute the leaflets to people so as to invite them to the convention.
During the procession, Sister Ada met one of her longtime boyfriends named Quadry. They exchanged pleasantries and had a brief conversation. Quadry collected a flier with the intention to locate Ada with it. Ada thought since Quadry was a Muslim, there was no need to invite him but Quadry had collected the invitation flier and promised to come to the convention with the intention to renew his love affairs with Ada.
The convention commenced and Quadry came as he had promised Ada but Brother Solomon had been feeling uncomfortable seeing Ada with the Muslim guy. Brother Solomon took it up to the extent that he reported to the pastor on the note that Ada is having a love affair with a Muslim guy. The pastor called the attention of Ada for verification but he did not disclose the name of the informant. Ada affirmed and hinted that Quadry had been a very good guy to her from high school but after graduation, they were separated but only to get to see each other during the procession they did for the ongoing youth convention. Whereas, according to the doctrine of the church, the young ladies have all been warned by their pastor, the elders of the church and parents that they should not have any form of affairs with anyone from other religions rather than Christianity. Secondly, the church has in several ways preached that young men and women in the church should marry only within the church so as to increase the population of the church.
Prior to the doctrine above, the pastor and some elders warned Ada to desist from Quadry. On the part of Ada, she accepted the advice of the pastor but she wanted to know the informant that had brought her secret affairs with Quadry to the church committee. It was not told to her but later she got her answer from Brother Samuel who was the talking drummer after rigorous persuasion from Ada, this was because Ada knew that the only person that is very close to Brother Solomon was Brother Samuel. He made it known to her that it was Brother Solomon that reported her to the church committee for a reason that he was jealous of the love affairs between Ada and Quadry. Brother Samuel made this secret known to Ada because he too was the closest person to her. In fact, they would have been dating but Brother Solomon was always the barrier. Brother Solomon had told Brother Samuel about his feelings for Ada and he cannot tell her because he is very shy in that aspect.
Ada got angry and plotted to disgrace Brother Solomon for the negative things she had heard about him too but Brother Samuel begged her to be calm and forgive him. She accepted but based on the matter of Quadry, Ada subscribed to the counsel of the church pastor and elders. She started paying no attention to Quadry. Quadry tried to find out the reason behind the neglect but all to no avail. Quadry stopped coming to the church because his source of motivation has been denied.
Now for Ada to replace her love, she met with one of the Deaconess in the church and confided in her that she would love to court with Brother Samuel due to her feelings for him. The Deaconess loved it and confidently advised her to go on with it. Brother Solomon discovered the new move of Ada, he got annoyed but there was nothing he could do because he understood that the church would never go against such relationship due to the fact that it is in line with the church's doctrine but Brother Solomon still continued to look for ways to destabilized the love affairs. There was no harmony in the choir group. The pastor and the church elders sat to talk about it. After they got the gist, they found Brother Solomon to be at fault. They chastised him but he got angry and threatened to leave the church if they did not provide him a woman in replacement of Ada. He said that because he knew how important he was to the church as far as song ministration was concerned. The pastor and the elders took it as an insult to the church so they demoted him from been the choirmaster to floor member while they promoted the assistant choirmaster to choirmaster. Following this decision of the church, Brother Solomon finally left the church in anger believing that the church will miss him but instead peace was restored in the choir group and also the convention ended well.
That's the end of the story.

Some notable lessons from the story
- Love affair before school graduation is not necessary to continue after graduation. It may encounter tough challenges.
- Arrogance is bad and it can demote someone.
- Learn to follow procedure if anything is needs to be implemented.
- The love for sexuality is bad. It drives away the spirit of God.
- It is wrong for churches to preach against interdenominational marriage.

THE STORYLINE

Season of Pregnancy is a story about a young lady named Tinuke. She was in a relationship with a young man named Tunde. They are yet to get married; they had not even done an introduction which implies that the parents of both of them knew nothing about the relationship except that Tunde has an elder sister known as Aunty Bisi who knows little about the love affair but despite that, Tinuke had made up her mind to take Tunde as her husband to the extent that she got pregnant for him.

On the side, Tunde has two other ladies that he is in love with. One of the ladies was a nurse known as Nurse Titi while the other one is Kemi. Tunde was a terrible womanizer which of course Tinuke knew about and thought he would change with time. Tunde went ahead and got Kemi and Nurse Titi pregnant. These three pregnancies became a heavy load on him. He sought counsel from a friend named Dotun. Whereas, Dotun and Nurse Titi were very close but Tunde knew nothing of their closeness. So Dotun made enquiry from Nurse Titi about what happened between her and Tunde. He got to know more and the plan of Titi that truly, Tunde is a womanizer, but he has definitely got into her trap for getting her pregnant and he must marry her by all means. So Dotun and Titi cooked up an idea to make Tunde marry only Titi. Dotun supported this plan because he has a very strong feelings for Tinuke for long but Tinuke would never give him an attention.

Upon the plan of Titi to get Tunde for herself, She remembered her older sister who has wanted to sponsor her abroad to take up a nursing job overseas. She visited Madam Alice and accepted to travel abroad but with her boyfriend. Madam Alice accepted and told her to get some reasonable money too especially for her boyfriend. Titi came and made her plan known to Tunde. He loved it and accepted it. Tunde sought the counsel of his friend, Dotun the second time, Dotun advised that Tunde should abort the Pregnancy of Tinuke so he can be free to leave the country with Titi as easy as possible. And of course, Tunde should get the money he needed for the trip from Tinuke because her parents are rich too. Tunde agreed to do exactly what Dotun said.

He met with Tinuke. He told her his intention to travel abroad so he can make more money and then return to the country for their marriage and settlement. About the Pregnancy, Tunde voted for abortion for a reason that he did not want to leave Tinuke alone with the Pregnancy. Tinuke accepted and went with Tunde to Nurse Titi to get rid of the pregnancy. Titi conducted the operation and got the pregnancy terminated but she did a careless operation which resulted into damaging the womb of Tinuke. After the operation, few weeks later, Tunde and Titi traveled abroad together. Tinuke based on her plan with Tunde thought it was only him that traveled but Dotun was aware of it later told Tinuke.

But before then, for the first one month of Tunde traveling abroad, he always got in touch with Tinuke but later, there was a halt on the conversation. It really pained Tinuke to the extent that she went to meet Aunty Bisi who was Tunde's older sister but she was disappointed that the woman denied having anything to do with the love affairs between Tunde and Tinuke. Tinuke was highly devastated. Tinuke continued to contemplate on what to do about the matter. That was when Dotun came to fulfil his plan. He told Tinuke that Tunde traveled abroad with Titi because he got her and another lady pregnant. Tinuke could not believe what she was told. She decided to lay curse on Tunde for deceiving her.

Tinuke sought the counsel of a friend. She was introduced to an herbalist by the same person and laid an irreversible curse on Tunde and Titi. Dotun came thereafter to woo Tinuke, he tried all possible best but all efforts to no avail. The third lady whom Tunde impregnated, named Kemi, came to make enquiry from Tinuke. She got to learn that Tunde had duped Tinuke and traveled abroad with another lady. That one too minded her business and accepted her fate.

Few years later, Tunde and Titi returned from abroad. It was said that they had a spiritual problem of losing pregnancy by miscarriage. They consulted an Ifa priest and it was known that they had offended a person in the time past. The priest hinted that they must go and beg for forgiveness from the lady they had wronged. They remembered that it must be Tinuke. So, Tunde and Titi searched for Tinuke and got her through Dotun.

Tinuke had already got married but without a child of her own except an adopted child. Her husband, Tayo, has a second wife that bored him two kids. It was the agreement between Tayo and Tinuke. Tinuke was the first wife but after many attempts for the couple to have a child, all efforts were fruitless until they did some medical checkups and discovered that Tinuke's womb had been damaged. Some family members of Tayo had suggested that Tayo should divorce Tinuke but he refused. Tayo decided to continue marrying his wife but with agreement that he would marry a second wife that will bear him children.

So, Tunde and Titi returned home from abroad due to their spiritual problem of miscarriage. They came to meet Tinuke with an elderly man whom they bribed with money because none of the members of their family accepted to go with them. They told Tinuke and Tayo all what happened. Tayo and Tinuke were very angry with them. Tayo without waste of time stylishly went out to phone the police. Some minutes later, three police officers came and got Tunde, Titi and the elderly man arrested. The case was supposed to be charged to court by the agitation of Tayo and Tinuke but the family members of Tunde and Titi finally came together and had series of meetings with Tinuke and Tayo's families. After all pleadings, the case was not taken to court but both the elderly man, Tunde and Titi received the bitterest chastisement of their life for the abortion they carried out on Tinuke and other pains they cost her. Also, Tinuke has learnt her own lessons for her foolishness. Then the whole case died down because there was nothing they could do to reverse the curse pronounced by Tinuke but it was later known through the Priest that instructed Tunde and Titi to go seek for forgiveness that even though Tinuke's womb had been damaged, she would have had kids miraculously but the vengeance she made was the cause of her own unresolved barrenness.

That's the end of the story.

Some notable lessons from the story

- It is reasonable to know the person you are in a relationship with so as to know whether you can fit in or not.

- If you want to go into marital life, make sure you at least introduce your boyfriend/girlfriend to your parents.

- Introduction as the first marriage ceremony is very important at least, it tells the general public traditionally that the young man and the young woman are husband and wife to be.

- If a man gets a woman pregnant, abortion is never a better choice.

- Sex before marriage is a sin. Also, it takes away the pride of the female person.

- Vengeance is not the best way to punish an offender; let God judge.

- Know your friends. Do not keep company with bad friends and do not follow their advice.

- Do not accept bribe from people, it can tarnish one's image.

- To settle quarrel, involve as many responsible elders as possible that the matter concerns.

Brother Solomon had told Brother Samuel about his feelings for Ada but he cannot express his feelings because he is very shy in that aspect.
Ada got angry and plotted to disgrace Brother Solomon for the negative things she heard about him but Brother Samuel begged her to be calm and forgive him.
Now for Ada to replace her love and to bring shame upon Brother Solomon, she met with one of the Deaconess in the church and confided in her that she would love to court with Brother Samuel due to her feelings for him. The Deaconess loved it and confidently advised her to go on with it. Brother Solomon discovered the new move of Ada, he got annoyed but there was nothing he could do because he understood that the church will never go against such relationship due to the fact that it is in line with the church doctrine but Brother Solomon still continued to look for ways to destabilized the love affairs. There was no harmony in the choir group. The pastor and the church elders summoned those that the matter concerned, they found Brother Solomon to be at fault. They chastised him but he got angry and threatened to leave the church if they did not provide him a woman in replacement of Ada. He said that because he knew how important he was to the church as far as song ministration is concerned. The pastor and the elders took it as an insult to the church so they demoted him from the post of choirmaster to member of the choir group while they promoted the assistant choirmaster to act as the new choirmaster pending when they will get eligible person to fill the position. Following this decision of the church, Brother Solomon finally left the church in anger. Then peace was installed into the choir group and also the convention ended well.

The end of the story.

On the side of Tunde, he has two other ladies that he is in love with. One of the ladies was a nurse known as Nurse Titi while the other one is Kemi. Tunde was a terrible womanizer which of course Tinuke knew about and thought he would change with time. Tunde went ahead and got Kemi and Nurse Titi pregnant. These three pregnancies became a heavy load on him so he sought counsel from a friend named Dotun. Whereas, Dotun and Nurse Titi were very close but Tunde knew not of their closeness. Dotun supported this plan because he has a very strong feeling for Tinuke for long but Tinuke would never give him an attention.
So upon the plan of Titi to get Tunde for herself, She remembered her older sister who has wanted to sponsor her abroad to take up a nursing job overseas. She sought the counsel of a friend.

Also, Tinuke learnt her own lessons for her foolishness.

- Sex before marriage is not right; it takes away the pride of the female person.
- Vengeance is not the best way to punish an offender, let God judge.
- Know your friends. Do not keep company with bad friends and do not follow their advice.
- Do not accept bribe from people, it can tarnish one's image.
- To settle quarrel, involve as many responsible elders as possible that the matter concerns.

5TH WORKER: Sir, we are sick and tired of the coming of your son. Let him stay there if he like. As for me, I'm going. So just pay us for the work we have done so far.
THE RICH MAN: There you are wrong. You can't get paid. Reward to the work of that farmland will only be done by my son and that is if he comes back.
6TH WORKER: So it is true? In fact, it is now crystal clear.
THE RICH MAN: That what?
5TH AND 6TH WORKERS: That you are a wicked man!
5TH WORKER: They told us but we didn't believe it.
THE RICH MAN: I advice that you don't listen to whatever anybody say to you about me. Just try and understand me and reason well with me.
5TH WORKER: If you insist that you are not going to pay us. Then we'll go leaving your job for you and others. (They drop their farm equipment and leave)

4TH WORKER: He said his body will be kept safe till his son comes back.
3RD WORKER: His son, again? There must be something behind this coming.
4TH WORKER: I thought as much. He also promised that his son will give him a befitting burial and one hectare of land will be sold on his name to feed his family.
3RD WORKER: Wow! All of that. What will he do then to us that will Be alive if his son comes back. It seems we are going to get a huge pay.

7TH WORKER: That is my friend. Let me go and meet her
4TH WORKER: I pity you. Remembered the rich man son can come any moment. (The 7th worker meets with the lady)
7TH WORKER: What's up?
LADY: I was just passing by. Why are you three working and those two just sit down having fun.
7TH WORKER: Well, I believe we are not all equal. And perhaps, every humanbeing has his own life to live and his decision to make.
LADY: Secondly, I noticed you guys have been doing this work for quit number of years now, how much do they pay you?
7TH WORKER: That's the funniest part of it.
LADY: What do you mean?
7TH WORKER: The real person who owns this land is not around, the work was given to us by his father. When he comes, he will pay us a huge amount of money or something great.
LADY: (She laughs loud) So stupid and foolish task. What sort of job is that? The person to pay you is not around and you just keep working without no payment. What excuses are you given to your people at home as regards your payment?
7TH WORKER: nothing. I just tell them to be patient.
LADY: Believe me I never knew you are this daft. You better wake up from your sleep. (She wants to leave)
7TH WORKER: See the point is I don't even know what to do if I leave here. Where I'm going to work?
LADY: You don't need to ask yourself that question. First thing first. Leave here first and think of something else to do. In fact, follow me right now cause I'm taking you home. See, if i can introduce you to my father as my husband, you will be given a great position in my father's company. Trust me. (She tries to drag him)
7TH WORKER: See, the days I've spent here cannot be less than the day the person will come. I will make sure I waited here till he comes. (The 7th man goes back to his duty. The lady still stands there waiting)
4TH WORKER: What is the matter with you and your friend?
7TH WORKER: She want me to quit this job but I want to wait till the rich man's son comes back. I must make sure I get my reward here before I leave.

7TH WORKER: He father owns a business enterprise so she want me to marry her in order to get a share of her father's business. But as for me, I'm not leaving here.
3RD WORKER: You are a fool. (He drops his farm tools. Picks his clothes and run to the lady) I'm gone. Keep my money. He leaves with the lady. Few minutes later, the rich man appears with his friend, his son and two escorts. (The 8th and 1st workers stand at once to welcome him)
THE SON: Wait there. Do not come closer. Take your belongings and leave this place at ones.
8TH WORKER: My lord, I have been the one seeing to the affairs of this farmland since.
THE SON: (To the two escorts) Take them away immediately. (To the 4th and 7th Workers) Both of you henceforth are my brothers. We are the heirs of this great empire. We have the right to do whatever we like over this land. The resources, money and every other things you can name on this land belong to us from now till eternity. (They were very happy and thanking the rich man, his friend and his son. The rich man's son gives them a warmth hug. The workers that left earlier come back to the scene)

HIS FRIEND: O.K.
THE RICH MAN: So about the workers, I don't know how to get them. You know I'm not that close to the community.
HIS FRIEND: Big man, leave that for me. I'm going to get enough workers for you. Wait, how many did you need?
THE RICH MAN: I don't really know how capable they will be to do the work. Maybe we should try twenty at first.
HIS FRIEND: Ok. No problem about that.
THE RICH MAN: So when should I be expecting you?
HIS FRIEND: Don't worry. I will make it snappy. Just expect me anytime soon.
THE RICH MAN: Good. Let me be on my way.
HIS FRIEND: You can't just go like that, Big man. Let me get you something for refreshment.

1ST WORKER: He insulted me.
8TH WORKER: And so what? Is that the right thing to do when I'm here?
1ST WORKER: Sorry, sir.
8TH WORKER: (To the 2nd Worker) Why did you insulted him?
2ND WORKER: I did not insult him. I only told him that finally he has seen someone who will rule over him.
3RD WORKER: Yes, I heard him; that was what he said.
8TH WORKER: (To the 1st Worker) Is that what he said?
1ST WORKER: Yes.
8TH WORKER: No... Point of correction; you will say yes supervisor. I repeat again; is that what he said?
1ST WORKER: Yes, Supervisor.
8TH WORKER: Better. What he said is the truth. All of you should have in mind henceforth that I'm going to be the leader of the workers on this farmland. I will be the one to give record to the rich man's son when he arrive. Is that clear to everyone?
ALL: Yes, supervisor. (Light fades off)

SCENE FOUR
Three workers sit on the ground feeling very tired. They begin to discuss.
5TH WORKER: Wait o, my friends. This work that we've been doing since, do you think all our efforts will not go in vein?
6TH WORKER: You speak exactly what is in my mind.
5TH WORKER: Because this man that keep saying his son is coming to pay us. Imagine someone who has a mighty investment as this and still keep telling us that his son will come to pay us.
7TH WORKER: I think that his son is the one that own this particular land. And whereas, the man is getting older. Soon his son will be the owner of all the properties. So the ownership starts now.
5TH WORKER: This man is just wasting our time here. He has the ability to pay us. So he should do so instead of wasting our time.
6TH WORKER: Or maybe he want us to be managing the farmland before his son comes. You know if we leave here, there will be no one to manage it and all the things we have prepared on it will just die away.
5TH WORKER: Do you even know my problem right now? I need money every now and then to send home for my people. When I was leaving home, I thought we are going to be paid every week or month. I never knew it will be a lifetime project. I need money as we speak not that thing called welfarism. Money!
6TH WORKER: Oh! Now I get you. (They laugh) See, bro, you have to be patient. The man will pay us all our money together once his son comes.
5TH WORKER: Please, don't let me here that statement again. 'son, come back'... if he like, let him stay there. (The 8th Worker comes to meet them. They all stand)
8TH WORKER: Sit...don't worry. (They all sit)
ALL: Thank you, supervisor.
8TH WORKER: You are welcome. I heard your discussing about the rich man and his son. Hope no problem?
5TH WORKER: Not really, sir. It's just that we are sick and tired of this job.
8TH WORKER: So what do you want to do instead? Quit?
5TH WORKER: I'm afraid that is what I'm thinking.
8TH WORKER: That shows that you are very smart. You see that rich man? You know I'm very close to him? (They nod their heads to agree) Let me give you a little gist about him. He is very stinging, careless, smart and arrogant.
5TH WORKER: Ehen... Definitely that stinginness of him should be the reason he has refused to pay us before the arrival of his son.
6TH WORKER: And with all these bad qualities of the rich man, I'm afraid that even if his son comes, we may not get our rewards. I don't think I'll continue this any longer.
7TH WORKER: Me too.
5TH WORKER: But the questions remain that; how are we going to quit and get paid for all the works we have done and how do we get a new job for ourselves when we leave here.
6TH WORKER: We will contact our individual home maybe there are any opportunities for us. It seems I have to go back to our family business.
8TH WORKER: That's for you. As for me, I have a better plan. I will not leave here untill that son of him comes back. And I will get my reward.
5TH WORKER: How are you going to do it, supervisor? Tell us.
8TH WORKER: You see all these products we are producing? (They nods their head to agree) There are people who need them at the market. I'm going to get some costumers who are ready to pay huge amount of money in return. So before the son comes, I would have been a big boy.
7TH WORKER: The idea is good but I don't think I have the gut for such a business but I still have the grace to go back home.
8TH WORKER: well, it is a popular saying; no gut no glory. Everybody has his own choice. (The 8th Worker leaves)
5TH WORKER: What I'm thinking is just that if only the man can pay us for the works we have done so far. Home is calling on me.
6TH WORKER: Exactly. I'm not even working today again. (They begin to ruminate on their decisions. Light fades off) To be continued...

THE STORYLINE
This final episode of the series - The Crown of Life, summarises the whole stories of the trilogy and the scene of the judgment day.

CHARACTERS
KUNLE
HIS WIFE
MICHEAL
CALEB
DARK MASTER
THE OTHER DARK ANGELS
DORA
TOLANI
WUNMI
CHUCKS

SCENE ONE
In the residence of Kunle. He sits thinking. His wife is also present in the scene expecting to hear some words from her husband. A bell rings at the door, Kunle's wife goes to the door and she opens it. Micheal and Caleb come in. They exchange pleasantries with Kunle and his wife and sit to talk.
HIS WIFE: Welcome, Bro. Micheal. Welcome, Bro. Caleb.
MICHEAL: Bro. Kunle, we heard about your loss and we have decided to come and support your faith. Most importantly, I had a revelation yesterday about you. I suggest we quickly discuss that possibly in private before any other thing. What do you think?
KUNLE: Is there anything to hide in it?
MICHEAL: (He shakes head) Not at all.
KUNLE: So why the privacy. Say it and let's settle that.
MICHEAL: The point to quickly draw from the revelation is that the devils are at work. I saw a dark angel trying to cloth you with a filthy garment. Suddenly, in the revelation, the Holy Spirit directed me to the Bible passage in Zechariah 3. There I read the story of Joshua the son of Jehozadak whom the devil clothed with a filthy robe. My advice to you now my friend is that no matter the circumstances you may find yourself, I want you to reset your lantern of faith. Turn the light on and add more oil to it so as to keep it burning. Now is the best time to prove to your God that you indeed love him than anything else just exactly what you have been teaching us on the sunday school. The kingdom of God is here already. Within this short period of time, let us do all what we could to stand still till the glorious day comes.
KUNLE: Wow! You are right, Bro Michael. (He pauses) But something is really funny here; Imagine me that always teach people to go away from sin yet I'm the number one drunkard. I teach people to put the kingdom of God at first priority, yet I was denied of the crown of life...
MICHEAL: (Break in) That was a dream. You still have the grace to take the right turn.
KUNLE: Well, you are right. But still, I do preach to people how to endure temptation, but I cannot handle the one that comes my way. Then tell me; why didn't I have the qualities of the things I taught others? Why?
MICHEAL: That is indeed a great irony. There are so many christians like that; what they preach is an opposite to the spirit in them. But henceforth, I want to put it to you that the ball is in your court to play. You must decide today whether you really want the crown of life or not. Make that decision right now using the statement of Joshua the son of Nun in Joshua 24 verse 15, Joshua said; but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. That's a very powerful decision. See, let me tell you the truth, brother, the kingdom of God is about choice which will be furnished by the grace of God. Don't get it wrong; choice first, then the grace of God.
CALEB: Heaven helps those who help themselves. So many people do not take note of the reality in that statement.
MICHEAL: You've gotten it, my brother.
KUNLE: Thank you very much my brothers. Do you know what? I have been thinking something within me; I want to visit a friend and join him in a very terrible business.
HIS WIFE: Haba! Dear! So you've been planning that in secret? You want to do deal with sami and D. M.?
KUNLE: I can't help it.
MICHEAL: Thank you Jesus. Our God is so great that there is nothing He cannot do. God really loves you. He never wanted you to lose your life. Thank you Jesus.
KUNLE: Henceforth, I'm going to increase my faith as you have suggested. Aside the sunday school work, I will also join the evangelism unit. (They clap their hands)
MICHEAL: You are ready indeed. It's a pity that so many christians did not know that sincere and pure evangelism is what makes our faith a perfect one.
KUNLE: That sounds strange. Come again, please.
MICHEAL: Do not tell me you don't understand what I'm saying.
KUNLE: See, forget the fact that I'm the assistant sunday school coordinator, it is God that has been helping us all these while. Tell me what I needed to know.
MICHEAL: If a man thinks he is a christian and is following all the laws of the commandment but without sharing the gospel with others which is the work of the evangelists, then the man is still with a little faith. That is what I'm saying.
KUNLE: Oh! Good... like I said earlier, evangelism unit, here I come. So we will meet in church so I can observe all necessary procedure, right? (Micheal nods his head to agree) That crown of life must be mine. This is not a statement from the mouth rather it is from the heart.
MICHEAL: Thank you Jesus. Let us pray (They stand and begin to sing worship which Michael takes the lead. Curtain falls)

SCENE TWO
The bottomless pit, the residence of the dark angels. Their master sits. He has two guards with him. The 2nd dark angel comes in.
DARK MASTER: What is happening with all the people we have held in captive? It seems to me that they have gotten their freedom.
2ND DARK ANGEL: There is an evangelism unit championed by a young man. They will not let me do my work in peace.
DARK MASTER: What are you telling me? I have prepared you for a work like this. What is happening? Go now and do all necessary things in your power. I need so many people as possible that will escort me to hell when the time comes. Go... (The 2nd dark angel exits. Curtain falls)

SCENE THREE
In the church immediately after the evening service. Wunmi, Tolani and Dora sit to discuss.
WUNMI: I love the decision of the church to demote that thing who call himself Michael from his position.
TOLANI: What are you saying, Sis Wunmi? Sometimes, I don't like the way you react to issues.
DORA: I wonder o.
TOLANI: I don't just know why you hate him so much.
WUNMI: Say whatever you like. The guy is too proud. That is not hatred it is the truth.
DORA: Bro Michael that I know quite alright is not proud. He is an easy going evangelist but can preach for the whole of Africa.
TOLANI: (Laugh) Of course. (To Wunmi) You better stop or reduce the level of your hatred for Bro. Michael. He doesn't deserve it at all.
WUNMI: Wait. Why did you think the whole church supported the decision of the evangelism unit coordinator to demote him?
TOLANI: Only God knows. The Bible said by their fruit you shall know them. That coordinator you mentioned cannot walk up to me and preach to me to repent. Never. That...please don't let me call him what I have in mind.
DORA: Just leave that aside. Don't let us sin against God through him. We all know what he is capable of.
TOLANI: He may have possibly found out that Bro. Micheal is doing so great in the unit. I bet you don't know that majority if not all the new members we have in this church actually came from the evangelism works of Bro. Michael.
WUNMI: Lies.
TOLANI: Go and ask.
DORA: Yes you are right, Tolani. From my little findings, what you said is the truth.
TOLANI: Corruption can never end; even inside the church, it is getting worst.
WUNMI: All I know is that the church has taken a good decision. Period. (They are leaving the scene but still on the argument. Curtain falls)

SCENE THREE
Heaven, the throne of judgement. The judge stands and before him is the large book opened. Some people are standing in a straight line facing the judge. At the right hand side of the judge are the white angels, standing with them and wearing the white crown of life are the set of people who have been judged and justified. At the far left are the dark angels with the set of people who have been condemned. Tolani walks up to the judge.
JUDGE: Behold, the daughter of man who is willing to live her life on earth within the circumference of true christians but her decision is so weak to rule over her sinful nature. She has also tried her possible best to keep the laws of God but she cannot stop returning back to the ways of sinners and transgressors. Have your part in hell where your kindred belong. (The judge points at the left corner were the dark angels are standing. The dark angels come to carry Tolani. Dora comes closer to the judge) Birds of same feathers. Take your part in hell along with your friend. You have subscribed to partying with those who built their tent with the dark angels. Go! (The dark angels come to carry her. Caleb comes closer to the judge) Though he is called the baby christian because he recently received his baptism and since then he has been trading on the path without a distraction. You shall receive the crown of life you delighted on. (The white angels come to welcome him to their side. Wunmi comes closer to the judge) This is exactly one of the dark angel in human form. She is a pregnancy in the bone marrow of the church. There is no need revealing all her lifestyle for she known already that she will live all her life in hell. Go to where you belong. (The dark angel come to carry her. Micheal walks up to the judge) Let the heaven praise God because a soul has been added to the throne of paradise and there has been a head who will wear the crown of life. Come! (He beckons the white angels) Put on his head the crown of life. (The white Angels come to Michael and wear the crown of life on his head. They take him to join others who stand beside them. Kunle walks up to the judge) On the second time, let the heaven rejoice and welcome another guest unto the throne of paradise. He was trialled and tempted vigorously but he overcome. Welcome to paradise that will gives you everlasting comfort and joy. (The white angel come closer to wear him the crown of life. Sami walks up to the judge) Hell you shall go because you have spent all your wealth, joy and happiness on earth. Go to where you belong! (The dark angels come to carry him. Kunle's wife comes closer to the judge) Let all heaven rejoice for the daughter of man who passed through raging storm and bitter waters. At last she triumph and is ready to receive the crown of life. Let her have it. (The white angels gives her the crown of life. Chucks walks up to the judge) You have been deceiving yourself with wrong doctrine. So it is a pity that you do not have a place here in paradise. Your place lies among the stone fire where Lucifa governed. Depart to where you belong. (The dark angels come to pick him up) On the throne of judgement, there is no secret, no eye service because the judgment of God will not be partial and will not favour anyone no matter who or what the person may be. All works shall be reveal in broad day light. Those who wish to trade with the devil will surely follow him to hell where he belong and those who trade with God their father will surely join him in paradise of eternal glory. Amend your ways and the crown of life is yours to bear. (The people with the crown of life were very happy while those who are with the dark angels never stop crying. Curtain falls)

THE STORYLINE
The Crown of Life: Episode Two is a continuation of the previous episode but on this note, we look at the tribulations provided by the dark Angels on Kunle who is one of the major characters in the series.

SCENE ONE
Heaven, the throne of judgement. The judge stands and before him there is an opened book. There were two angels standing beside him. Kunle comes to the scene looking here and there and he is afraid seeing a strange place.
THE JUDGE: Welcome, son of man, to the pulpit of judgement. This is the book of life and whose name that is not found in this book shall be cast into the furnace of hell. (Kunle is dumbfounded) Your works on earth have been measured within and without. There has been a stain on your garment to depicts your short-comings that you do not have a place here in the palace. Alas, your place is in the territory of the stone fire where ungodly people will be with the Lucifa whom you have allowed to rule over your life, till eternity.
KUNLE: I don't have any short-comings on me. I am a christian (He looks at his white garment, suddenly, he finds some red spots on it) Ah! What is this? Where...? How?
JUDGE: That is the language of the pretenders but unfortunately for them there is no hide and seek before God Almighty, the Creator of the universe, there is nothing hidden. alas, it has been written that on the day of judgement every works done in the secret place shall be reveal in broad day light. You have enjoyed your life to the fullest when you were on earth, but now, you will have your place with them (He points his hand to a corner where two dark angels stand dancing and jubilate for Kunle) Take your part in hell. (The dark angels come closer to carry Kunle. Curtain closes)

SCENE TWO
In the residence of Kunle, he is sleeping on the bed
KUNLE: (He suddenly wakes up from his sleep) Jesus! Jesus!!...(He pauses) So it was a dream? Thank you Jesus. (He begin to sing praises) You are justify my lord, you are justify my lord, unto you ni mo surrender, unto you ni mo surrender patapata...(He continues in singing praises. A dark angel who is also present in the scene can no longer bears the atmosphere of the praise so he walks away and the Angel of comfort comes in smiling at Kunle. Curtain closes)

SCENE THREE
Still on the same residence of Kunle, he walks into his house and sits feeling so tired and troubled. His wife is also present in the scene.
HIS WIFE: My dear, what is the matter, you look so disturbed?
KUNLE: I'm sick and tired of all these troubles. I think death should be the shortest cut now 'cause I don't even know what else to do.
HIS WIFE: God forbid! Tell me, my dear husband, what again this time?
KUNLE: (He gives his wife the paper in his hand) I've been given a sack letter at work. Without no reason. Things are just turning to negative here and there I don't even understand it.
HIS WIFE: (As she read the letter, she feels a pain in her stomach) Wait, hold it I'm coming. (She gives the letter to her husband) Let me quickly use the toilet.
KUNLE: What is the matter?
HIS WIFE: I have a pain in my stomach (She walks into one of the rooms and few minutes later she comes out crying)
KUNLE: Dear, what is the matter?
HIS WIFE: (She continues crying) the baby is gone.
KUNLE: What!...my God! (He quickly holds his wife) Wait, let us go to the hospital. What kind of problem is this now for christ sake? (They exit. Curtain closes)

SCENE FOUR
In the residence of Kunle. His friend Sami comes to pay him a visit.
KUNLE: Welcome, Sami. Long time no see. You've suddenly neglected me so soon.
SAMI: Stop saying nonsense, my friend. I was so busy doing some business here and there. You know, one must not sit idle as far as this country is concern.
KUNLE: You have been busy doing business, right? (Sami nods his head to agree) I was just wandering maybe you can let me be part of that your business. I'll love to do business too. So I will just be busy like you.
SAMI: Haba! What about your job, are you tired of it?
KUNLE: Not at all but the company got tired of me.
SAMI: To be sincere with you, my good friend. I heard that you have resigned from your job, what is the matter?
KUNLE: It's because your informant did not want to insult me.
SAMI: (He breaks in) What do you mean by that?
KUNLE: You don't understand my previous line. I got sacked. That's all. I can never be tired of my job.
SAMI: That's a bad one. Ok now, what have you been doing to come back on track?
KUNLE: Praying and fasting for God to open another way.
SAMI: (He laughs so loud) Please don't make me laugh.
KUNLE: You did already. But what is funny about what I just said?
SAMI: You lost your job and the next think you think is right to do is to pray and fast. You this church people will not kill somebody. Ok... let me stop the joke. I have a better offer for you. You said it earlier that you want to be part of my business, right?
KUNLE: Yes. Do you have a room for me?
SAMI: In fact, a bigger one for you. You are my good friend and I can't be seeing you reducing in weight with fasting and praying like this.
KUNLE: If I may ask; what is the nature of the business we are talking about.
SAMI: What do you want to do with it? Is that what you want or the money you want to get from it? See, let me tell you something, my good friend; you see, in life, one need to be awake. There is no easy cut to success not by praying, fasting or what have you. (He pauses)
KUNLE: There are certain business I cannot do as a christian. Tell me, what is the nature of the business, please.
SAMI: Ok. (He comes closer to Kunle and whisper to his ear)
KUNLE: Ha!
SAMI: Forget label and eat bread. And mind you, let what I said be a secret between us. I like you that's why I informed you about the deal.
KUNLE: (He opens his mouth in surprise to what he heard) What?
SAMI: This one that you are doing like a small child. See, maybe you want to think about it. I don't have time to be seeing you behaving like a ten years old boy. Let me advise you, if you join this trade today, within two hours of working with us, you will get an amount of money that will get you back on track. Let me quickly be on my way. I have to see a friend around this area. His name is D.M. I believe you know him very well. those are the big guys I'm chilling with. (He stands to leave and Kunle sees him off. Curtain closes)

SCENE FIVE
The residence of Kunle. He is with his wife. They are discussing.
HIS WIFE: So, dear, what is the new line of action? Should we just focus all our income on this small retail business?
KUNLE: I'm trying to put something in place. Sami came here yesterday.
HIS WIFE: Oh! Thank God!
KUNLE: Why did you say so?
HIS WIFE: There is a need to thank God, of course. There must be a solution to our problem.
KUNLE: (He hisses) He actually suggested a solution but it is something I must not accept.
HIS WIFE: Why?
KUNLE: He is in the same business with D.M. Imagine such a business deal.
HIS WIFE: Sami, D.M., what's the connection between them?
KUNLE: Definitely, you don't know how powerful money is; it can create a link between light and darkness.
HIS WIFE: You are right. That's a very good statement. So, now, what is the next thing on the agenda?
KUNLE: (He pauses) Money can create a link between light and darkness. (He repeats the lines all over again)
HIS WIFE: (Looking at her husband in surprise) What do you mean by that? Are you saying...do you mean...?
KUNLE: Anything you can imagine. You are at your liberty.
HIS WIFE: ...just please, don't try anything funny. Whatever, I trust you, you will not want to subscribe to it. And lest I forget, dear, did you finally went to see the pastor? We need to continue praying fervently about all these things happening in this house. We must not stop. Quickly go and see the pastor, there must be possible things we can do again about this.
KUNLE: Are you done?
HIS WIFE: What do you mean? Are you saying my words are meaningless?
KUNLE: You are talking about seeing a pastor. Were you not there when I was discussing with the pastor about the dream I had.
HIS WIFE: I'm not talking about the dream alone, I'm talking about the current situation. I don't think there is a link between your dream and what is happening now.
KUNLE: That is because you don't know what I have discussed so far with the pastor. He said my current situation are works of the devil to mislead me from the path of Christ. He even gave me some works to do in order to strengthen my faith but I'm just kind of too busy. I have to get something doing before I can consider the spiritual work he suggested.
HIS WIFE: Oh! I thought as much. That is possibly the cause of the kind of life you are living in. You know I can't stop imagine that despite the fact that you are the assistant sunday school coordinator yet you prefer drinking around like a mosquito. What a shame. I believe all that must stop because I can't continue losing my babies for your sinful nature. Now, they gave you a spiritual work to do, you did not bother to discuss it with me instead you are waiting till the time you will get money to do it. I pity you. Your hell will be as tall as the everest. (Her husband is dumbfounded. She stands and goes into the room)
KUNLE: Ha! My God! This woman has never insulted to this extent before. It is not because of my little sin, it is definitely because I don't have money. Sami! Here I come! (Kunle exits. Curtain closes)

THE CROWN OF LIFE

EPISODE ONE

BAYO ONUWAJE

THE STORYLINE
Crown of Life: Episode One reveals how christians await the coming of the Lord. The playlet begins with a discussion of the prophecy on the coming leading to the plans of the Dark Angels to change man's mind against the Lord. But despite their doings, the White Angels will not let true believers go astray.

DEDICATION
To the late Bonargy Adebole Ajetunmobi a.k.a. Olukiji Agba.

SCENE ONE
The narrator comes on stage to give his lines.
NARRATOR: The time has come for the light to overcome the darkness. Let all deeds been brought to judgement and all thoughts shown at the naked plate of the heart. The throne has been set for Him who will bring justice to the poor and the oppressed. The proud and the arrogant shall be taken down from the high tent. Here comes the time the King of kings has made for the new world to manifest. (The narrator exits following by members of a church coming out after the sunday mass. They are discussing)
WUNMI: You see, I keep on repeating this question says by the scripture that if God should mark inequities, who is going to be save? Who? Don't let us deceive ourselves.
TOLANI: For me, I think one need to be prayerful. Mercy is the only escape route.
MICHEAL: It seems you are not getting one thing right. Mercy of course is an escape route; as they say mercy triumph even on judgement day. And if truly God should judge, everybody is at fault but we have been taught all these about the importance and significance of the death and resurrection of Christ; never you underestimate that. Christ died and lived again because he wanted to reconcile us with God and that is what he has done. The book of revelation contain some important information we ought to be aware of concerning the future; Revelation 7:13-17 is one of such scriptures. Read your own when you get home. That scripture implies that there are people who will be considered no matter the handiwork of the devil. The only things is if you are ready to be part of them 'cause as for me, by faith, I must get my own crown of life. I leave you for now. I have to catch up with the evangelism unit. (He leaves the scene)
WUNMI: He can proud for Africa. (She Mimics Michael) I have to catch up with the evangelism unit. Imagine him talking as if he knows it all. Don't mind him o, he is one of those who sleeps around with church girls. Rubbish.
TOLANI: Why the attitude? I don't get it. Is it because he said the truth, because he leaves for an evangelism or because you think he is sleeping around with girls?
WUNMI: It is because I heard and I believed it that he is among those who sleeps around with women.
TOLANI: May God forgive all of you who goes around spreading people's matter. Though everybody has his or her own darkness hidden under the cloth but still we should be sure of what we are saying and perhaps it is never our right to judge. The pastor said he had a prophecy about the judgement day, right? So let it come, then we will know who or who sleeps with men or women.
WUNMI: (She Looks at Tolani so angrily) Henceforth, better go and get yourself a new apartment because you are no longer staying in that house again. You have just started a quarrel today that will finish in heaven. (She is leaving. Tolani follows her)
TOLANI: My good friend, you are not the one I was referring to. I was just saying... (They leave the scene. Curtain closes)

SCENE TWO
The bottomless pit, the residence of the dark angels. Their master sits. He has two guards with him. Another angel of their kind enters.
1ST DARK ANGEL: Master, May you be praise. I have carried out the assignment you sent me. I have a very important news with me to tell.
DARK MASTER: Then let me hear it.
1ST DARK ANGEL: A prophecy has been given about His coming.
DARK MASTER: Given?
1ST DARK ANGEL: Yes, master. In fact, the prophecy has been preached to the church and a massive evangelism has been done immediately after the service to give awareness to Christian all over the community to prepare for Him that is to come.
DARK MASTER: (He holds his head with two hand) This news gives me an headache. I must do something as fast as possible in order to get followers. (He screams) Followers! These people must not go to Him. We must act fast or else we will be the only one to live in our end-time-home. Do you want that to happen?
1ST DARK ANGEL: No...never, master. We must do something as you have said. (Another dark angel walks in majestically)
2ND DARK ANGEL: (He bows before the dark master) Master, send me to the people. This should be my time to pay my loyalty to you. The world has already been divided into four equal part, let me make the three parts to worship you till eternity. They shall be our guests in hell when the time comes. Let me go...
DARK MASTER: Of course, I have suddenly forgotten that I have a strong weapon as you. I have prepared you for great task such as powerful as this. You will do exactly what you have promised. Prepare yourself and bring them to me as quick as possible.
2ND DARK ANGEL: May you be praise, master. (The 2nd dark angel leaves the scene)
DARK MASTER: Even Him that sit on throne will know that he has a mighty being as powerful and challenging. (He storms out of the scene and the 1st dark angel follows him leaving the two guards on the stage)

SCENE THREE
The residence of Kunle. He sits with his two friends who are also members of the same church with him. They were making merriment, eating and drinking.
KUNLE: (Behaving like a drunkard) O.K... let us accept it that the pastor's dream was a true prophecy on the basis that the judgement day is on the door step, should we just fold our hands and be looking or we should rather enjoy our life till the last drop so that when the time comes, we will have nothing to worry about. Even if Jesus come like this, I will just tell him that I'm sorry for my all sin, and he will forgive me. He has no choice because heaven is looking for candidate. (He laughs and drink from his bottle)
CALEB: Kunle, what nonsense are you saying? something is not right with this guy. It seems a kind of spirit has taken over him.
DORA: No, not at all. It is the alcohol. Imagine, the assistant sunday school coordinator has taken about six bottles of bear. Why won't he say rubbish?
CHUCKS: Both of you are saying the same thing. The alcohol, the spirit...there is a link between them. Whatever that might have come upon you, Kunle, I don't give a damn all I know is that I was born into a christian home, grew up in it and I've never one day go astray from it. Definitely, if the trumpet should sound today, I will be very glad. My entry is 100percent sure.
CALEB: I pity you. You think the certificate to the kingdom of God is by been born into and living in a christian family? Do you know what christianity is? So many people called themselves Christians but without the knowledge of what it entails.
CHUCKS: Are you the one to teach me what christianity means? You remembered I knew the time you came for baptism, or have you forgotten?
CALEB: I remembered and you can say that again. But I must tell you, though I may not be a good christians or maybe I'm the baby type, but you shouldn't be proud of yourself because Paul said it in one of his epistles that the gift of righteousness is not through work but by grace; so let no one proud.
CHUCKS: (Laughs) See, Caleb is quoting Paul for me sha. Imagine. Well, let see. when the day shall come, it will be a moment like this and you'll see me going up on a white robe. It is then you will know what I'm saying. (He stands and drinks the remaining content in the bottle)
KUNLE: Chukwu-emeka, are you going so soon. I still have enough drinks inside to entertain you guys with.
CHUCKS: Sorry bro, let me go and attend to something else. So many important things await me at home. I'll see you guys later in church. (He leaves the scene)
DORA: Don't mind him. He can proud for africa.
CALEB: Wait, is that a new slang in the church?
DORA: Why do you ask?
CALEB: I heard members of our church saying it.
DORA : I heard it from Sister Wunmi when she was telling me something about Bro. Micheal.
KUNLE: Don't mind that Wunmi, she can gossip for Africa. (They laugh. They continue having their drinks. Curtain closes)

SCENE FOUR
Heaven, two white angels meet to discuss.
1ST WHITE ANGEL: The time is near. the true believers on earth need our help more than before. The Most High has commended that we should make hay while the sun shines to breath into them. Let them receive comfort so as to escape the plight and trial of the season that is to come.
2ND WHITE ANGEL: Your word has been taken. I shall go at once to get company for the mission.
1ST WHITE ANGEL: Go... and remembered that you must do all necessary things to put the churches on track for the glorious day that is to come.
2ND WHITE ANGEL: But remembered that it has been written that there are some son of men who are stone deaf towards the scripture. For those who needs the breath shall be given.
1ST WHITE ANGEL: Yes, you are right. Go now and may the spirit of the Most High guides you. (The 2nd Angel leaves. Curtain closes)

THE STORYLINE
The Visitation, depicts how true believers with the names; Faith, Hope and Charity await the coming of the Lord as promised by Him. This is a presentation for believers who underestimate the importance of love (Charity).

SCENE ONE
In a church, the three men named Faith, Hope and Charity stand praying to God so fervently on the basis of the prophecy that the Lord is coming to visit his people. As they continue in the prayer, a voice speaks to them.
A VOICE: My children, listen diligently to my word that cometh out from my mouth. I shall pay a visit to my people on the day which will not be announced by any seer nor any prophet. I shall keep my word with me to test how strong you are in the ministry. Behold, when the time shall come, I shall fulfils my word in a manner that no man can comprehend. Prepare ye thy ways and make your home clean for my visitation. Prepare... (The voice fades away)
FAITH: Finally, the Lord has spoken unto us His children. We must prepare our home to wait for His visitation.
HOPE: There is no need for delay. Let me be on my way. I have so many works to do at home. Or do we have anything else to discuss?
CHARITY: Wait brother, I'm wondering about something.
HOPE: What is that?
CHARITY: This visitation of the Lord, I don't think running home and cleaning the surrounding is the first thing to do.
HOPE: What else do you have in mind?
CHARITY: There is a statement in the message that I will interpret thus; He will come...
FAITH: (He accompanies Charity to say it) In a manner that no man can comprehend, right?
CHARITY: Exactly.
HOPE: And so, what about that?
CHARITY: We have to imbibe the principle of wisdom in order to be able to meet up with the Lord's expectation. That is what I'm trying to say. There is more to that statement.
FAITH: You know me very well before now. I'm Faith. The assurance of things people hope for and the justification to things unseen, through me the elders have good evidence. You can see that I almost covers every sphere of Christendom.
HOPE: That is your own point of view. I also have the right to defend myself. Though, you may have the concept 'Hope' in your definition, but I must tell you, I'm more than what you can imagine. I'm hope; without me, there is no courage, patience, endurance and perseverance. Can you see how powerful I am?
CHARITY: Good. You all have good qualities. Let's go home.
HOPE: We are expecting you to say your part. Or don't you have something to boast of?
CHARITY: It's not about something to boast of, it is about what you really carry. I believe you all know that all the commandment of God has been recap only in one single body by Christ. That body is me called Love. You know that? My friend, let us go and wait for our Lord (They are leaving the scene)
FAITH: As far as I'm concern, I have the strong believe that I'll be the one to receive the Lord when he comes.
HOPE: I bet you all, I'll be the one 'cause I have made some certain plans on my mind on how to receive him.
CHARITY: I never knew it has gotten to that. Argument is not the real thing. It has been written that by their deeds we shall know them. Let us wait till then. (They finally exit the scene. Light fades off)

SCENE TWO
Few months later. The three men meet at the residence of Charity. They were eating and drinking.
FAITH: Charity, you know you are the youngest among us here?
CHARITY: Yes I know that. Anything the matter?
FAITH: So, that makes you the poorest, right? (Hope laughs. Faith speaks to Hope) No... brother. It is not funny and I'm not trying to hurl insult on him. (To Charity) What I'm saying in extend is that either me or Hope should be the one to host this feast. Or do you want us to finish all the food stuffs in your house?
HOPE: I wonder o.
CHARITY: Hosting both of you, for me is not a big deal. I have a genuine reason to do so and which is the fact that it is my duty to see to your well-being. (Faith and Hope Laugh)
FAITH: Ehnn?
CHARITY: Yes of course. You can Laugh to your satisfaction. I'm simply doing my right.
HOPE: Sorry o, Mr Santa Clause who gives free gift to people.
FAITH: Well, that's a good one. I commend you on that. Please, keep it up. At least that will make my food stuffs available when the Lord comes.
HOPE: (He laughs) You are right. Of course.
CHARITY: I tell you again, it is never a big deal. The Lord who provides water to quench the taste of the coconut, He will do the same for me. (Light fades off)

SCENE THREE
Some months later, in the residence of Hope, a blind man appears holding a long stick. He knocks on the door of Hope.
HOPE: (He opens his door and see the blind man) What is the meaning of this? Who are you looking for? (As the blind man wants to talk) Will you get away from my apartment? What nonsense.
BLIND MAN: (In a sober mood) Please, give me small food to eat; I'm hungry.
HOPE: Will you get away. Where are these my boys. (He goes inside and comes out with two huge boys) Please, help me throw this stinking, filthy thing out of my house. (The blind man is trying to beg him but he wouldn't listen. The two huge boys carry the blind man out of the vicinity) What nonsense! (Light fades off)

SCENE FOUR
In the house of Faith. He is present in the scene with his wife.
FAITH: See, woman, I want you to quickly put all things in this house in order. I had a dream this night that the Lord visited me. Please, go and get lots of people to help us do the cooking and other necessary arrangements. I must prepare this place ready for the king of kings.
HIS WIFE: Ok. I will do just that as quick as possible.
FAITH: That's my darling. Fast...number... (His wife is about to go out, she meets a lame man on the gate)
LAME MAN: Please, madam, give me little water and food to eat. I'm hungry.
HIS WIFE: Hungry? Oh! And I'm very busy doing something.
CRIPPLED: Please, madam. God will bless you.
HIS WIFE: (She thinks for a while) Wait. Let me get you something.
CRIPPLED: Thank you, madam. (The woman comes back to the house)
FAITH: What are you still doing here?
HIS WIFE: I want to quickly get something for a man outside. He said he is hungry.
FAITH: My friend!... Get... (He pauses and looks at his wife sternly. His wife quickly runs out. Faith follows her to the gate. He drives the lame man very hard out of his vicinity) I'm expecting my Lord not a wretched lame man. (Light fades off)

SCENE FIVE
The residence of Charity. He is also preparing his house waiting for the coming of the Lord. He has a male and a female servants assisting him to put things in order. An old beggar holding a walking stick comes to the scene looking very wretched.
OLD BEGGAR: Please, my son, help me. I have not eaten since yesterday. Please, give me little food to eat, please, I beg you. (Charity has sympathy on him)
MALE SERVANT: Oga, this people are not to be trusted. I remembered a case where someone gave a beggar money and the person became poor. They can pretend for Africa.
CHARITY: Haba! Youngman, how can a old man pretend to this? Even if it is a pretence, for the fact that he has come to us for help, it is our duty to do so if we have the grace. Bring him inside.
MALE SERVANT: Oga, what if the Lord come right away and see him like this. He will think you are not clean enough to welcome him.
CHARITY: If that is the case, go and give the old man a bucket of warm water to have his bath. Then get some clothes for him and give him enough food till he get satisfy.
THE BEGGAR: Thank you, my son.
CHARITY: Don't mentioned, baba. They will take care of you. (The male servant is finding it difficult to touch the old man. Charity gets closer to the old man and walk him into his house. Light fades off)

SCENE SIX
In the church. Faith, Hope and Charity are present once again praying when the voice speaks to them.
VOICE: My children, it has been written that no little part of my word will go without fulfilling its purpose. I have made my promise come to pass. I've visited all of you. (Faith and Hope were surprise but Charity keeps smiling and nodding his head to agree all what the voice is saying) Just as I have told you that my visitation will be in such a way that none of you can comprehend. But your attitude are your asset to receive me or to reject me. (Faith and Hope continue miming asking charity the truth to what the voice is telling them. Charity is confirming it with a smile and as he continue nodding his head to agree) Charity of course has proven to be the best of all. I visited Hope in form of a blind man and he thrown me out of his vicinity. (Hope put his two hands on his head) I also paid Faith a visit in form of a lame man but he rejected me and chased me away (Faith also put his two hands on his head) But Charity accepted me with a sincere hand. He bathe me, He gave me new clothes to wear, he gave me good and enough food to eat and there in his house I have given him my blessings in return of his good deeds. So in that case, I say to you, if any of you thinks he has me as his Lord and personal saviour but without charity, such a person is telling lies. You all need charity to make your christian life a perfect one. I leave you with this law; Love your neighbour as yourself...(The last statement continues until it fades off)
FAITH: (He cries out) Ahh...
HOPE: (He also cries out) Oh my God...what a miss?
CHARITY: Remember the last statement; love your neighbour as yourself. (He leaves them on the scene. Light fades off)

THE ABSTRACT
A single scene significant story that depicts how believers await the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

THE SCENE
A large room with long wooden chairs and tables. People sit and chat. 1st Man goes out as he presses his cell phone. 1st Coordinator comes in to give an announcement.
1ST COORDINATOR: Please, we want you to exercise more patient. We are very sorry for the delay. Perhaps, if we can recall, the Master has in several cases enlightened us that there may be a delay on his coming.
2ND MAN: (In a loud voice) Coordinator, please, help us tell him that he should come on time. Else, I have something meaningful to do at home with my family. (The 1st Man comes in and sit. He is trying to listen to the 1st Coordinator) So once again, please bear with us. The conclusion is that he will come as promised. (The 1st Coordinator leaves the scene)
1st MAN: (To the person sitting beside him) Sorry bro, what did he say about the Master?
3RD MAN: Where were you when he entered? The rule stated that we should be indoor till the Master comes.
1ST MAN: Don't mind me bro, I quickly go out to make some important calls.
3RD MAN: But you can make those calls inside. Definitely, you don't know the essence of this meeting.
1ST MAN: Uhm, the essence of the meeting. That's a very good remark.
3RD MAN: See my friend. To everything in life there is a scale of preference to measure the degree of importance or the essence of things. And it is advisable that we give more respect and concentration to things that are most essential. What I'm saying in extent is that the reason why we are inside this room is more important than the calls you went out to answered.
1ST MAN: Bro, I must confess; you are indeed a good mentor. I must make sure I remain diligently with you here till the Master comes.
3RD MAN: Just let us be patient, ok? (The 1st man nods his head to agree)
4TH MAN: (To the person sitting behind him) it seems this Master is going to take much time to come. Let me quickly go and bring my stuffs so I can start selling it here.
5TH MAN: What do you sell?
4TH MAN: I sells wears of different kinds and sizes for male and female. If you see them you will be tempted to buy.
5TH MAN: If that is the case, go and bring them. I think I need leg thing. we don't know yet the place where Master is taking us. I want to change this one (He is looking at his leg)
4TH MAN: Good. I'll be right back soon. (The 4th man exits)
6TH MAN: (He stands and goes to sit with a lady) Fine girl, how are you doing? Hope this place is not too boring?
1ST WOMAN: Not at all. The reason to endure is greater than anything.
6TH MAN: Wow! You speak as if you really need to see the Master.
1ST WOMAN: I'm not here only to see the Master but to follow him to wherever he is taking us. And that is what every one of us should be clamouring for.
6TH MAN: Well for now I have something else in mind. I'm thinking if you can join me in my seat. Let us have some fun together. I have enough food and entertainment to ease your heart. We will just enjoy ourselves before Master comes in.
1ST WOMAN: That is not why I'm here. And perhaps, no one knows when he'll enter. Not even the coordinators who always come to give announcement. (2nd Coordinator comes to address the people. The 6th man quickly goes back to his seat)
2ND COORDINATOR: (The people were making noise) Silent please! The Master ask me to tell you all that he will be here shortly. So you need to be silent and calm before his arrival. (The 2nd Coordinator exits)
7TH MAN: If the Master like let him wait there till tomorrow. I will not leave here. Whatever that is worth doing is worth doing well.
2ND WOMAN: (Comes to sit with the 1st Woman) Sister, tell me, what was that man feeding you with?
1ST WOMAN: Why did you want to know?
2ND WOMAN: It's not a big deal. I'm just kind of curious. He is my good friend back home.
1ST WOMAN: If that is the case you better advice him to place the coming of our Master on top of everything he want to do. So that he will not loose the grace.
2ND WOMAN: So he is telling you other things aside what we are here for?
1ST WOMAN: Yes. He said I should come and join him to have fun. I told him I'm ok with the position I am. (The 2nd Woman nods her head to agree. She goes to meet the 6th Man and sits with him. The 1st Woman is surprise seeing them) I pity the two of you.
4TH MAN: (He comes in with his stuffs and sits) Bro, any latest news about the Master?
5TH MAN: Another man came here with his bad face to announce that Master said he will soon be here. The man is not even like the first one. He is aggressive.
4TH MAN: See let me gist you; I don't think Master is coming today. The point is if we just wait here for the whole day and he didn't come, it is going to be a waist of time and energy to people like us who have something important to do.
5TH MAN: If he did not come today, bet me, I will have nothing to do with neither the Master nor the coordinators again. (He pauses) Let me buy what I want to buy first before other customers come here. (He begin to select the stuffs)
4TH MAN: (In a loud voice as he begin to advertise his products) Come and pick your own o! (Some people come closer and they are checking the stuffs)
8TH MAN: (He stands to address the people) My people. I want to say that these coordinators cannot be trusted any longer. They may be given us wrong information about the Master. So I'll suggest that we get another means to connect to the Master. So that we can get reliable information. (Some people accept while others ignore him) I'll make sure I get the contact so that we can call Master directly from this room to know when he is coming. But it's going to cost us some money. So if you are interest, please contribute your money. (He is going round to collect money from some people. After he finishes collecting the money, he wants to go out)
6TH MAN: Bro, where are you going with our money?
8TH MAN: I'm still on the plan; I want to go and get help. (The 6th Man nods his head to agree. The 8th Man exits)
3RD WOMAN: (Her phone rings. She carries her bag and want to go out to answer it)
4TH WOMAN: My sister, answer that your call here. The Master may be here any moment from now.
3RD WOMAN: My friend, get away! Master ko teacher ni! (She drags her hand from that of the 4th Woman) Is that your new portfolio? Most superintendent adviser. (She hisses and exits)
4TH WOMAN: (To the 1st Woman) I'm just trying to save her but she misunderstood me.
1ST WOMAN : You have done your part. Leave her with her fate. (Few hours later, it's already getting dark and the people get tired. The 2nd Man, 4th Man and 5th Man leave the scene at once. The Master suddenly comes in with the two coordinators and two other people who are like police officers. The officers quickly fetch out the people who are on seat diligently waiting for the Master. They were the 1st man, the 3rd man, the 7th man,1st Woman, 4th woman and two others. The remaining people begin to cry and give excuses.
8TH MAN: (Comes in with the 2nd Man, 4th Man, 5th Man and 3rd Woman) Master, welcome. We have been waiting for you for so long. I quickly go and get something outside.
THE MASTER: This people (Pointing at the people at the right side whom the officers have selected) are those who have been waiting for me so diligently. I have come only to save them from all their troubles and take them with me to wherever I'm going. So next time, you should learn to wait like a responsible person. (The selected people were very happy while the others are crying so heavily. The Master leaves the scene with the selected people and the officers use a long rope to tie the other people. Three men on black mask come to torment them. Light fades off)
