Maybe he is not a scammer and can't abscond with his money, from what I understand,just like some business men usually do with their client money.

He probably invested the money in something else and hoping he will get it back in due time but things didn't go as planned.

The thing is ,you sold it,you made your own profit from it too,what stopped you from giving the owner his own part?

Update: I went to his office yesterday and he has signed an undertaking that I will get my money by May 31st, 2022.
