Mixed reactions have trailed a Twitter user’s advice to single men. She is of the opinion that some struggling men might only become successful when they get married.

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the establishment of state and local government police.


This was confirmed on Monday in a statement by the Executive Secretary, National Human Rights Commission and Chairman Presidential Panel on SARS Reform, Anthony Ojukwu, during the submission of report of the Presidential Panel on the reform of Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, of the Nigeria Police, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The dismissal of 37 police officers as recommended by the National Human Rights Commission Presidential Special Panel on SARS Reforms, was also approved by President Buhari.
Ojukwu said:
“At the end of its public hearing and having listened to complaints as well as defendants and their counsel, the Panel recommended thirty seven (37) Police officers for dismissal from the force. Twenty four (24) were recommended for prosecution.
”The panel also directed the Inspector General of Police to unravel the identity of twenty two (22) officers involved in the violation of the human rights of innocent Citizens.
“The police was directed to pay compensation of various sums in forty—five (45) complaints and tender public apologies in five (5) complaints and directed to obey court orders in five (5) matters.
“The Police was directed to immediately arrest and prosecute two (2) retired senior Police officers found to have violated the rights of citizens (one for extra-judicial killing and the other for illegal takeover of Property of a suspect). The Panel also recovered two vehicles illegally auctioned by SARS Officers and returned them to their owners.”
“Some other key recommendations of the Panel include,” Significant improvement in the funding, kitting and facilities of the Nigeria Police Force; Strengthening Information and Communication Technology of the Force; Establishment of State and local government Police.”

Recall EFCC arrested Naira Marley, Zlatan Ibile and three others at Zlatan’s home in Lekki in the early hours of Saturday, 11th of May.

Davido has reportedly un-followed Zlatan Ibile on Instagram after it was alleged that he never got involved in the release of the rapper from EFCC custody. A check on the singer’s page indicated that he is no longer following Zlatan.

Another check showed that a photo of Zlatan uploaded on his page, has been deleted.
In the deleted post, Davido expressed utmost joy over the release of Zlatan Ibile from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

A resident of Fadausi Street, Ijeshatedo, Lagos State, Kenile Nwabuzor, has committed suicide after some protracted disagreements between her and her boyfriend, David
Viral reports say Kenile and David had endured an unhealthy relationship since they met about two years ago. The matter however came to a head on Thursday, April 11, 2019 when the 26-year-old hairdresser decided to commit suicide after David reportedly said he was no longer interested in the relationship.
Shortly before the incident, she was said to have sent a text message to her boyfriend, lamenting he had made life miserable for her and that she would soon kill herself.
Speaking to PUNCH during the week, David, a graduate, said he hooked up with Nwabuzor two years ago while she was mourning the death of her mother.



He said Nwabuzor, who is a secondary school leaver, expressed fears that their relationship might not work out because of the disparity in their educational qualifications.
He stated, “She was my girlfriend and I loved her so much. We started dating each other about two years ago. She was not that literate, but I told her it didn’t matter. When we met, she was in distress. Her mother just died then and she was living alone. She said she could not live without her mother. Her brothers are based in Ghana, but they usually sent her money.
“She told me she finished secondary school, but I don’t think so. I really wanted to help her improve on her education. She easily got angry and if she had a disagreement with someone, she might not talk to that person again for years. As our relationship continued, I tried to correct her. I persuaded her to be going to church and bought a Bible for her. We usually had disagreements over petty issues.
“If we had a misunderstanding, I could be in her house for hours begging her and she would not say anything. If I decided to go, that would be another fight. At times, the misunderstanding would last for days.”
“Because of the nature of my job, I have girls around me. She would be complaining that I was going out with them. I tried to tell her that she needed to trust me. I also saw boys around her because she was beautiful, yet I trusted her.
“Recently, she said I didn’t love her again. She changed her phone’s password to deny me access to her phone. She accused me of sleeping with women. It was true many ladies wanted me to ask them out, but I ignored them,” he added.
David explained that four days before the unfortunate incident, he had missed Nwabuzor’s calls while on an assignment at an event. He said he got back home late that day and returned her calls, but she did not pick them.
The photographer stated that when he called Nwabuzor the next day, she started insulting him and he ended the call.
He went on, “She sent me text messages, but I didn’t reply. On Tuesday, I went to her house to return the charger she lent me and when I was about to leave, she returned all the things I had bought for her. That night, she sent a text message to me, saying that I had stopped loving her since December 2018 when we had fun at different places.
“She said she was no longer interested in the relationship. In my reply, I told her she was free to find her peace anywhere else. On Wednesday morning, I thought about everything again. I knew she was depressed and I had been the person encouraging her. I sent her another message, begging her. Most times, she would be the one to say she was not interested in the relationship, yet she would be crying. I was always the one saying sorry.
“That Thursday, she came to our house for the first time and met with my parents. That was the day my father knew her as my girlfriend. She reported me to him and said she was no longer interested in the relationship. My father sought my opinion and I said I didn’t have any comment.
“She started crying. She called one of her brothers and told him she was coming to Ghana. My father is a clergyman. He tried to counsel her. As my father was talking to her, she was crying. At a point, she stood up and left. Afterwards, I left for my workplace.”
He said she later sent a text message to him, saying, “You want to kill me; I will help you kill myself. Thank you for making my life a hell.”
He said immediately after he read the message, he took a motorcycle and headed for her house.
“On getting there, I peeped from her window and saw her body dangling on a rope tied to the ceiling. I shouted and barged into her room. Her neighbours helped me loose the rope while I brought her down. She was already heavy, but I was not feeling the weight.
“I was not in my right senses again. I took her on a motorcycle to a nearby hospital. She was referred to Randle General Hospital. A doctor confirmed her dead on arrival. I called her brother and relations. The police arrested me and detained me for two days. They said I should not have brought her down,” he stated.
Kenile was buried on Saturday, April 13 which was David’s 26th birthday.
“I have lost my sleep these days because of the incident. I am still going through the trauma,” David added

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reacted to the viral reports claiming that its servers crashed and that candidates will need to rewrite the UTME 2019.

Debunking the reports, JAMB said the results of candidates who participated in its 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination ( UTME) are intact.
The board’s Head, Media and Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin, gave the assurance in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Lagos.
Benjamin reacted to speculations in some quarters that the board issued a press statement, explaining that the release of the UTME results was being delayed because its server crashed and that candidates should prepare for another examination.
”We want to distance ourselves from such malicious and wicked rumours by fraudulent persons, as there is no truth in them.
”We did not issue any press statement concerning crashing of server. All these are antics of desperate persons trying to cause panic and confusion among candidates and the general public.
”We are not going to succumb to such rumours as we remain focused in ensuring that we achieve what we have set out to do.
”After the examination, the board embarked on a screening to determine any form of examination malpractice and infractions by both candidates and examination centres. This is what has been delaying the release of the results,” he told NAN.
The official said that the board had almost completed the screening and would soon releaseresults of deserving candidates.
”What we are trying to do is to ensure that innocent persons are not punished, but I can assure you that we are going to punish all those found wanting,” he said.
Benjamin appealed to Nigerians to believe in the board’s ability to rid of what he described as ‘criminal elements’
According to him, Nigerians should appreciate what the board is doing as it is for the benefit of the Nigerian child and the national large.
”We want to correct so many things might have been taken for granted in the past.
”When fraudulent individuals get away with their mischievous acts, it is because the society is in a hurry to run to a conclusion, not mindful of the fact that certain acts should be pursued painstakingly to a logical conclusion.
”I want to let you know that the board has secured conviction of some UTME fraud suspects in Kebbi.
”Therefore, we equally want to seize this opportunity to thank the judiciary for doing a good job, as we urge others to key into what has been achieved in Kebbi in an effort to get rid of fraudulent persons and sanitise the system,” he said.
Benjamin urged candidates to be calm and wait for their results to be released soon.
”I want to urge candidates not to entertain any fear. Their results are intact,” he said.

The senate has just passed a sum of N8.916 trillion as the budget for the 2019 fiscal year.
This is against the N8.83 trillion proposed by President Muhammadu Buhari to a joint session of the National Assembly last year.
The new budget figure was passed after Danjuma Goje, chairman senate committee on appropriations, presented a report on the floor of the upper legislative chamber on Tuesday.
The figure is N86 billion higher than what Buhari presented at NASS on December 19.

World’s most-watched television series Game of Thrones, released it’s first episode of the eight and final season last night and people cant get enough of it.
Unlike Game of Thrones‘ previous season, this eighth season only has six episodes.
While the finale’s secrets have been closely guarded throughout filming, fans do know that the biggest battle in Thrones’ history will take place at Winterfell this season, as the united forces of the living clash against the undead army of the Night King.
Episode 2 is expected to air next week, April 21.
