There are millions of poor men in both first and third world countries who abuse women. Their socioeconomic level has nothing to do with how much empathy they have for women. Money is the only real security in the society we’re in and men know it, yet they like to tell women it’s not important but it is. Poverty has a way of making love take the backseat. It’s in men’s best interest to hoard wealth, it’s in their best interest to make sure women continue to be paid less than them. They don’t think your high paying career is “too masculine and therefore unattractive” simply because you are in the highest position in an office full of men and are wearing a suit. They know if you have a job that pays you well, you are much less likely to put up with their bullshit and bend over backwards for them. Men are turned on by women who show signs of socioeconomic instability, hence the “damsel in distress” trope that they love. A great example of this is the abundance of pornography where the Roleplay is all about how the woman couldn’t afford to pay for a service, so she used her body as payment.

All men know that deep down they are energy vampires and most women would have no incentive to put up with them if they didn’t need something. They want to be needed. They’ll even say it themselves sometimes. “Men like to feel useful and needed! If you feminists women don’t need us for anything what’s the point?” They don’t see a point in being romantic with you if you are self sufficient, but when you hold them to what they say and start asking for things, suddenly they have an issue with that too.

Sex is the easiest thing to get out of a man. They’ll give you plenty of sex and attention because it’s free, it’s the main thing they care about, and they don’t lose any of their wealth or resources doing it. What they don’t like doing however, is giving women security. I browse many forums and groups because I like to hear the perspectives of all sorts of women. I have seen women in the sugar baby/sex work game complain about how men have no problem giving them their allowance or payment in the form of physical gifts like a purse, a pair of heels, or a necklace. When the women stress that they want physical cash for their time so they can split that money up in ways that’s most beneficial for them, suddenly the “it’s too transactional” excuse jumps out. It’s bullshit. They don’t want you in a better financial position because that means you’re less likely to need them in the future. These same men are usually high rollers in the fields of finance, or they’re entrepreneurs. They understand why certain items are a bad investment and if someone tried to pay them for their time with a new suit instead of cash, they’d sue.

It doesn’t matter how much men tell you they care about you. If they cared they’d provide you with security whether that is through cold hard cash or investing in your business. Hell, maybe you do really just want expensive gifts, whatever floats your boat. Define what security means to you, define what devotion from a man looks like to you and make sure they’re giving it to you. Otherwise, don’t waste your time.
