Will Universities Admission Ever be on Merit??
I was at the University senate dis morning to rectify my
ID card problems. While i was waiting for the Deputy
director,Student Affairs department, I saw some
Lecturers and Professors coming In. I sensed a
meeting was to take place as they sat down at the
Senate reception. They started discussing about the
2nd batch admission list,quite oblivious of my
Presence.
I discovered that most of dem had candidates
credentials and they all submitted it to a professor who
took it to the admissions office. The same professor
came back later and brought back about 35 of them
saying they were rejected as they(candidates) scored
below 40 in the post-utme. The lecturers started
murmuring before the admissions officer came 2 meet
them. He later gave them a stamp for each of the
rejected candidates credentials and told them 2 take it
2 d ICT centre and later bring them back.
Confused,the lecturers asked Why. I later got 2 know
that 15marks will be added to all the Lecturers and
Professor' candidates post-ume score to improve their
aggregate and Hence get them admitted.
UNAAB has finally confirmed my fears. I always dnt
believe Unaab's results cos i always suspect something
fishy btwn d ETC and Unaab's ICT centre and they've
proved me right.
The admission officer also told them that 3,226
candidates has already been admitted(
www.unaab.edu.ng for proof) and only about 600
candidates are left to be admitted. (unaab admitted
3,500 candidates last year)
i felt so pained for my 2 cousins who applied for
banking and finance n scored 58 and 56 in d post-ume
as most of the COLMAS courses are already been
lobbied for by the Lecturers

aye oo! Werey pple! Seriously! Wetin d SUG dey do sef? Yh! D aspirants cudnt do anyfn buh wail... Freaking start protest b4 it gets outta hand. I rily wish sum1 sumwhere in or out of d skul cud jst stand 4 d rights of dose brilliant-bt-nt-connectd students. Ok. I got 53.65 as comp, bt i knw dat sum1 who passd more dan me is nt admitted....tho i knw registrar o.. D tin is i had 2 make connectns 4 myself(hw i got 2 knw d registrar) bcoz i was denied admission last 2yrs . I got gud score so i jst stayed ah home hoping dat adm is sure.... Nt saying its nt gud 2 hope, buh u nid assurance(connection) dat ure gonna be admitted. Dis yr, i learnt my lesson... I had 2 connectns sharpaly!(an influential PG student and registrar) also fasting nd praying fervently.. No big boy 4 prayer o. Fact!

well um in every way, there's an exception, buh 2 b realistic, no admission most especially if dat persn's goin 4 mngmt courses.... Bt if its science, u may. And also, nt aspiring bt already given admission.

Mehn! Reading wat bimfo said has made me want 2 clinch 2 God more dearly. *sigh*. Having gone thru my ordeal(lil bit complicated dan bimfo's) and still battling it... well bt as an individual, i viewed it differently, i believed every good or bad moment happens 4 a good reason. U knw bimfo, i aint preaching here nd i aint criticizing u bt i want u 2 knw dat wat u WANT TO BELIEVE is d last obstacle to ur happiness. Well everybody has his or her own limit 2 longsuffering. To say d least. I've had Years of bad prophecies of imminent tragedy. Yh! I prayed fervently, bt its still happens, buh u knw wat? God loves me, here i am alive nd redeemed 4rm dat. Bt y dd it take many years to take to break 4rm dat curse? Thank God am in my early 20's for me to be highy sharpened 2 thrive in d future, to knw more deeply abt life nd to knw dat d only one dat can save u 4rm it, is God, d right prayer and Mercy. I really do hope u believe him back bimfo. Overcoming Strong trial times leads to endless peace! (only when God helps u)

pseudonomer: It's Pure Mathematics sir. But B.Sc in Mathematical Science will be written on your certificate.

Make sure you're sound in Mathematics... And don't joke with your MTS courses... If you don't want to spend extra years.

MTS is one of the easiest dept in FUNAAB. Just Make sure you're sound in Mathematics, study like the way a normal student should, know how to answer questions, and be ready to know how to prove everything from if y = x^2, show thay y' = 2x.

Don't get scared, don't follow the crowd. Know yourself

Am sure D reason why pdite have upperhands dan jambites is because of d money and d fact dat 180 is their cut off. Moreso, the do their pdgree exams nw, so na two way power! No mata wat u say, d fact remains dat pd has upperhand dan jambites anywhere in nigeria! Bt i fink In every way there's an exceptn, universities lyk unilorin or oau dnt give a damn abt u being a pdite. And 4 d fact dat funaab has 3500 capacity for nw, and d numba of pds. it will always be competitive
