there is something that is not clear here...i think we all know about d slow calender of dis uni,maybe u were told but decide 2 turn deaf ears to people,and if u didn`t know before choosin d skul as your desired institution,u still av d chance of taking anoda jamb atleast it closes by jan15 nd we are yet to enter that month.......cos i see no reason why u are complaining abt this,even if u av 2 complain,does dat mean u shouldn`t know wats right or wrong.....can't d SU body fight 4 dre right in another way than protesting? i also av a ? to ask,can't d school management stops d SU alternatively than closing of d school....a protest might yield to a negative result 2dae but there z an assurance dat dre is a greater nd better 2mao cos it seems corruption z now everywhere ....president buhari promise 2 fight against corruption,if he z truly against it, den d poor leaders causing bad omen in dat school shouldn't be left out....tho my trust nd hope is not in mr.presient cos he is human nd he can decide to deceive but i only trust and hope in d almighty,even if its going to take thousand of years.....one thing d vc dont know is,his position is not forever nd nothing on earth is permanent....i understand wat it is for d former SU....to rejoice abt d school former situation.u know how happy an evil tree will be,wen ppl does not support a good tree nd even decides to cut it out,so it won't bring forth good seeds....the way aspirants feel for staying at home for days dats how stalites also feel for studing in an unfavourable condition.....for crying out loud d fact dat d former protest didnt yield a favourable result does not mean another one shouldn't take place,its just like saying "because d last presidency post in nigeria av been polluted,den we av no cause to nominate in someone who can do better.........keep hoping,keep praying nd never faints,we will always put evil in its place nd it will never av a place 2 rule over us

Datz by the way, the main issue to be addressed here is the fact that Oau students cannot fight for a course without going on strike... If we would defend our action, we would end up saying datz what actually makes us great Ife... I want to believe that we can make our views known without having to go on strike. ..

OAU students did not go on strike. The school management ordered us to vacate the school under the canopy of a mid semester break. Just clearing things up.

Cancellation of a session means that this session; 2014/2015 will become 2015/2016. And you guys' session will be 2016/2017. It's just like losing a year. I'm not saying it'll happen, though.

pls can u suggest textbooks to buy for those courses Lyk physics chemistry zoology botany and sociology and any oda course u take pls list all d courses u take also

We take zoology, botany, physics, chemistry and sociology. Then we take Use of Library; it's a zero unit course and you just have to have 40/100 to pass it. We also take SER I.e Use of English. You'll buy the text book and work book from the SER lecturer. For LIB, you'll get materials that you can read. For sociology, you'll also buy the textbook from one of the lecturers, Ogunbameru.
For zoology, you can get Tropical zoology. I don't know of any textbook for botany; it's not really a tough course. For Physics, you can get College Physics and or First year university physics and also get past questions, preferably Best grade. For Chemistry, get Best Brains past questions and there's one textbook that was recommended but I can't remember the name. But the past questions compilation for chemistry is very vital.

Great ife great ife great ife.....what exactly is great about this school,pls? Is it because they have turned themselves to thunder that usually strikes? Or is it their extreme lack of maintenance of property and standard? Is it their non chalant attitude to the welfare of students? Or their inconsistency when it comes to dates of resumption or lecture times and venues?

Honestly, I wonder at times. Like they say, one who hasn't been to another farm will always claim his father's farm is the largest. That's the mentality most die hard fans of OAU have. Anyway, we'll just have to get used to it, eventually.

PS: I'm actually enjoying this break.
