This is the best knowledge forum ever. After all the info gathered so far I decided to proceed on my journey of poultry start up with broiler as a starting point.
I planned starting with 100birds but I reduced it to 50 for training.
I made the pen myself and now my birds arrived 22nd of September they are 9 days today.

u never c anything, u just dey start.
start to give dem grower at three weeks and finisher by December or 10 weeks.

first separate the bird from d rest and administer ember zyn forte to d bird nd d rest bird.
as for the appetite use Max yield.

those market women in the market buy to resell, they will frustrate you with ridiculous price.
the best way to sell your birds during X'mas, new year and ester period is to look for a place in a busy market where u can put a small movable cage that can contain like 20 broilers, you be doing the marketing right there at the front of your cage in the market but for quick and fast market look for somebody you trust like a brother, sister or friend that can be doing the marketing for you at the front of your stand in the market while u take like two broilers in your hands and go inside the market where they are selling tomatoes and pepper or season cube and approach people like sister you nor go buy fowl? who one buy go buy from you.
that's how I do my marketing, but somebody with pride cannot do it sha, na me one dey hawk fowl waka for inside market.

how can i differentiate btw male from female broiler. I am planning to buy at 3weeks old. You can show me with picture.

I don't have pic to show u how to different between day old male and female broiler right now.
but at three weeks old u can easily different male broilers from female by looking at they legs and height.

I don't know where u can get Max yield in lag because I don't reside in lag but u can replace Max yield with any vitamin, Ember zyn forte is an anti cocci drugs.

Why do you normally sell the female, is it that dey will not grow very well or someone can't make profit from it?

because the male always grow bigger than female and have more weight, that's just my own style of breeding.

lasota should not last more than an hour inside they cage after an hour remove d remaining water and throw it away, now give them water with milk for d remaining day,
Point To Noted -: withhold all water from d birds for 2 hours prior to lasota to stimulate thirty.
Day 12 to Day 16 give them maxi yield
Day 17 to Day 19 give them honey + Ginger
Day 20 to Day 22 give them ordinary water
Day 23 give them gumboro the same way I explain lasota above
Day 30 deworm them all (very important if u nor want make parasite make u to harvest less)
6wks give them fowl pox vaccine ( nor wait make pox catch dem first prevention is beta than cure)
after 6wks free dem from medicine both don't forget about monthly vaccines which are.

Gumboro
Deworm


if you say the medicine are too much try ignorance.

for those of us planing to buy day old broiler for the first time please follow this step and u won't regret it, this is my strategy it as been working for me for 3years now, so far out of 153 I book 17days ago so far none have die yet which I believe none will die till I sell all b4 they new wicked owner go pass death sentence to dem all.
due have sell all d female leaving me with 97 male




Day 1 on arrival give them glucose
Day 2 to Day 3 give them maxi yield
Day 4 to Day 6 give them Ember Zyn forte
Day 7 give them Ginger with honey
Day 8 to Day 10 give them ordinary water ( no medicine)
Day 11 give them lasota, lasota is a vaccine recommended 4 a healthy chicken of 14 days of age or older by drinking water not for sick chicken and y I recommend you to give them on d 11 day is because most of our hatching company in Nigeria don't hatch d birds well e. g zartech there mostly supply sick day old birds, so if u give dem on d 11 day it will quickly attack the disease b4 d sickness get worst.

Pls my people how important is it to deworm broilers and at what age should the be dewormed?

deworm medicine is very important to animal because if d worm are too much inside the fowl they will be d one feeding on the food u give to d birds leaving the bird with no food for growth, is best to deworm dem every 3-4weeks, if e tail at all it should not be more than 4weeks b4 u re-deworm them.
most farmers always neglect d important of monthly deworm and vaccine.

am sorry for not adding u on time am just waiting for d numbers to b many

so my younger brother have been cutting me all dis while, i will be buying it myself now.
