Both of you are out of context. They were discussing about modes of raising up children and how many children are now addicted to social media, PC etc without having their own imagination. Then Seyi said while growing up, he lived more in his head (having his own imagination) than out there. And that he can live in an island alone for a long while to the extent that if you come and visit him, he will tell you that he has more friends on the island than you that live out there.

The phone can be tracked by:

1. Through 'Find my phone'. Phone needs to be connected to the internet for this to be possible (either by WiFi or mobile data)

2. Police tracking. They use your phone IMEI to trace it. Phone has to be in use for this to be possible i.e. a network SIM in the phone pinging with a mast.

By locking the phone, you've prevented the 'thief' from putting the phone into use in anyway thereby preventing tracking

Check if there is data restriction for Google Services Framework. If there is, toggle it on

You cannot track the phone through Mi cloud unless it is connected to the internet. Your best bet is to report at a police station capable of tracking the phone using its IMEIs (cost has been said to be around 15k)

Once the phone is locked through Mi cloud by you, the probability of unlocking/flashing the phone by the thief is close to zero, if not zero.
