AgricultureRe: Join The Jireh Team Today (2 Months Cucumber Training) by phollar(m): 11:55pm On Jan 10, 2016
2 good months of your time on Jireh Farm might be the best decision you'll ever take as this will expose you to alot of things that happens on the farm, you get to learn from the OGA himself, this is a first hand training you don't want to miss out on and you still have the option to be on your own afterwards or remain. FARMING IS NOT FOR THE FEEBLE MIND. i made this same decision sometimes back and i know where i am today, i will always say thanks to Jasper7.

The dream has always been running an agric-based investment company that pays a minimum of 50% ROI every year. Can it be done? Absolutely! Can I do It? Yea sure, piece of cake. I bet you I can make it 50% in 6 months. Can it be done? Absolutely, Can I do it? Read on to find out.

The ogbomosho project was set to commence on the 1st of May, and 6 months later (30th October), the 1st Tranche on the ROI was to be paid. With no tests nor geophysical survey, We had gotten the Land in April, a virgin forest in Ogbomosho (very fertile). We cleared it using a bulldozer, we commenced search for laborers, purchased tools and farm input, procured a farm house, ploughed the land e.t.c

That proved to be the first of a series of deadly mistakes because when we started our bore-hole, we discovered that the area would be unable to produce the required water to irrigate a farm of the size of our's. 3 different surveys were conducted, yet the same result. The survey showed that what we could get at best from the land would be a tenth of what we need. So, great was the problem that we suspended the search for Labour and re-activated the search for Land with "enough water".

We found what we were looking for in mid-July. It was a land close to the Dam in ogbomosho, so we were guaranteed unlimited water supply. And Later in July we started work there, with the few laborers we had on ground. We installed our irrigation all over again and successfully planted sometime in August, (Remember this was a project that should be due in October, Lol). By end august, the downpour of rain came like it was releasing all it had held back through all the months of drought. The dam overflowed, destriyed our farm as much as it could. (From suffering from lack of water, we are now suffering from excess water, Lol). I couldn't understand why the forces of Nature were just trying to mess around with my head. We Fought many battles, we won some and we lost some, but these are the Lessons I have extracted from my Journal. Enjoy
Alot was learnt, such a great experience, thanks Jasper7,

Time was running, so we had to move on to the plan B. Our Plan B was to move to a Land, with a huge water body (River, Ocean, Dam e.t.c) We got one, We Negotiated, We Paid for it and we have started work. Work is moving great and we are glad to say we are on course, the team is
working hard to deliver on Project.

The Journey so far:
From day one, Jasper7 made it clear (in his words) "we all just bought a one way ticket to Ogbomosho, And the only way home would be success". Our project started on the 1st of May 2015 at our Farm site in Ogbomosho. We knew what we wanted to achieve, and in order to achieve it we needed a plan B, C or D as the case may be. and for the first month, we spent it not only working on our project, but also creating fall back plans. We got our Labor to work, start Land preparation as we got our borehole team to try and get us a borehole that would give us the necessary water we need (a cucumber and watermelon farm like ours needs at least 100,000 Litres of water per day to give maximum production). From the survey carried out on total Land Mass of over 20hectares,  we could not get  more than 15,000 Litres. These surveys cost both time and money which are both precious to us. We were directed to a "seasonal" the water body close to the farm that dries
during the dry season. And since there were no rains, it was just a big valley of dry ground with just little patches of water at irregular parts of the Land. We had our Lands ready, Beds made, Mulching film covered on the first part, we were waiting for rain or favorable news from our
borehole team but neither of the 2 were forth coming.

Under the directions of our project Manager, who has effectively waived the non-disclosure clause in our memorandum of understanding. I have been authorized in my capacity as the production Manager of Project Jireh to Post a few details of our project and the Journey So Far. This and more, were planned to be published at the end of the project, but since questions are being raised and pictures are being asked for, the whole Jireh team, thought it wise to fill the public in on a short review of where we are, and what we are doing.
