No politician of his status can survive on merely 14 million naira every month. That's about £7000 or so? Those who beg him for cash and the amount he has to spend to keep himself politically relevant each month is certainly more than that.

Secondly, he is right about the 6 year single term. This current style is not working. 4 years isn't enough to make any significant difference in office. The desperation for a second term as well as to install a successor often robs our politicians and political institutions of the necessary input to make our society move at the pace we need it to go.

Kalu is entirely right on the foregoing, in my opinion.

If the politicians are doing the right things then there shouldn't have been any reason for anyone to beg them for anything.

3-4 years ago, a relative settled a domestic staff, a grown man 10m. Cash money. Money was more valuable than today. Ie Over $20k that time. Omo, today that man is destitute, he comes to the gate, security drives him away. Another that were give less than half he got is thriving.

I am a good manager of money, very prudent to the core.
