Sannisege: This idiot was with yaradua when he reversed the privation of refineries done by Obasanjo. That all suddenly know the right things to do once they are out of government. You people are always quick to label someone with one funny accusation, I wonder when you'll be bold enough to do the right things. Each government is elected to right the wrongs of the previous government for God sake, must we always dwell in the past?🤷♂️ |

I actually do not have issues with any sitting president having his own kinsmen in key offices as long as their performances is good but despite Tilumbu having his cronies in offices yet they've all performed abysmally low. |

We hope that one day, Peter Obi would see something positive to say about Nigeria. When there's nothing positive to say then we continue talking about the available negativities. |

Rest abeg So the Ondo state governor should divorce his igbo wife just because he became the governor?🤷♂️ And you fail to acknowledge the criteria for the so call Ondo man becoming Lagos state governor... As long as it was Tilumbu that brought him in then no issues, immediately Tilumbu got done with him he was kicked out asap. Ondo - Lagos... are they not all in the SW? |

Politics › Re: The Return Of Fuel Subsidy By Reuben Abati by phorget(m): 8:07am On Aug 28, 2024 |
nairalanda1: Governments have always been scared to remove subsidy totally because it means zero votes next election. That is why buhari and tinubu are doing partial removal all the time...because if they did full removal, they would be kicked out of power.
Nigerian politicans can sacrifice the economy to Molech if need be, to save their political futures. "Subsidy is gone" sounds more like a total removal of subsidy, Tilumbu should come clean to tell us if its partial removal then. I see no sincerity in the government of the day, a government that would rather remove subsidy and start dishing out palliatives bought with the same acclaimed subsidy saves, same palliative that won't ever get to the targeted individuals. Petroleum subsidy payment is still the more centralized subsidy any government can give the citizens, everyone benefits unlike monetary or food palliative that they are sharing about. |

nairalanda1: TInubu now calls it 'shortfall' . Essentially NNPC Is forced to use some of its profit to pay for subsides and government reimburses them,...lol. We are automatically running round a circle I guess. |
Politics › Re: The Return Of Fuel Subsidy By Reuben Abati by phorget(m): 5:43am On Aug 28, 2024 |
nairalanda1: The fact of the matter is, we got here because we had the wrong idea about fuel ....we thought we could make it cheap to 'help the poor'
It's helped the poor....at the expense of our domestic refining capacity.
Like I say, if you want working refineries and an end to scarcity, let the refineries and the marketers sell fuel at a profit....so that there would be enough money to plow back into the refining capacity.
Abusing me and calling me names does not change that fact. We have tried subsidy for over 4 decades. It's not working.
And fixing the refineries is not going to solve the problem. The best the refineries can do is produce fuel at a cost above N1000 per liter. Subsides would force them to operate at a loss.
But most of us think that cheap fuel costs nothing. Is subsidy really gone or are we still paying subsidy?🤷♂️ |

Except I am a bastard, why would I even associate with people who see me as their enemy, not to talk of championing their own obvious tribal political agenda, when my own tribe also has its own to be championed? Is it now a crime if the SE chooses to support their own even when they have been supporting others before now? |

DIVINEEVIDENCE: Its 21st century, 2024. Nigeria still cannot manufacture aircrafts.
Of all the Engineers and Professors of Engineering we have, we cannot handle things as simple as road and bridge construction and the indigenous maintenance of presidential air fleet.
If our Air force One has to be maintained and retrofitted by outsiders, what good does it speak about our national security?
And Tinubu himself has become so used to controversy that he didn't see jets with clean records to buy; it just had to be the one sized from a Saudi Moneybag.
