Wow... that's pretty disturbing. Someone once said that most Nigerian web hosting companies are bunch of opportunist, that have no clue what web hosting actually entails. I think you should do yourself a massive favour, contact a solicitor and sue your web hosting company.

Legally, if you have lost out financially through no fault of your own then you may consider taking legal action against the company you believe was responsible for causing the loss. In this case you can sue the company for damage caused to your business, this could be loss of business due to any number of factors, loss of important records and data

You can also sue the comapny for negligence, further more; breach of contract, a financial loss suffered due to the failure of the company to meet a contractual obligation.

Don't worry if you don't have the money to sue, the web hosting company will be responsible for paying all the legal expenses should they be found guilty as charged...

There are few good web hosting companies in Nigeria, personally HostNigeria is outstanding and a lot of webmasters that have dealings with them will tell you that you can never get a better Nigerian web hosting company than http://www.hostnigeria.com.ng

If all Nigeria web hosts can be like hostnigeria then who needs foreign web hosts

Some of these guys are the same. But you fall hand bro. While continue hosting with them after the previous ugly experience. One company (for reasons i dont want to mention its name again here) did that to me on three occassions. When i decided not to host with them anymore they seized my domain names refusing to let me have control of them. Men I have to spin a lie to all my clients telling them that Onyibo panel changed their domain names. I have to change all their domain names at my expense. And you have to consider that their complimentary cards, billboard need to reflect the new name. it was not funny. I thank God I later see a more dedicated and sincere host and has never given me a cause for concern

Brother, i think i will do a change of servers. thank God, the domains are not from them. so its not much problem, once i fix my lp.

Vbhostnet.com is the worst naija hosting company I have ever experienced. I had similar experience with them almost 2years ago.
It was one week, one trouble.
I hosted some websites with them and it was a big mistake patronizing them.

If one is a hosting reseller one would expect to have absolute control of sites hosted under its reseller account. but viewbound systems technologies owners of vbhostnet.com are trying to kill the image of its clients and to destroy the businesses of its clients client.

Its not up to a month i concluded my journey on making an ecommerce site (tiptopclothiers.com) which took me me more than four months to finish due to the clients constant i want this, i want that, i want the other. and the immense delay of my client to provide products (items and details and prizes etc).

Thank God, i was able to upload products and update its prizes, availabilities, discounts etc and after integrating the payment system and the rest.

To my greatest surprise, i was shocked to receive an un expected call frm my client seeking to know why their site is not online. (shocked!)

I was in my village for xmas, and i didn't travel with my laptop,, so i had to try out the site on my phone only to surprisingly discover that the site is truly offline.

Though i was not much surprised cos vbhostnet.com has done same thing to me on several occasions when i was developing i-buye.com i had to redesign, re upload i-buye.com more than three times that made me to disagree with them and asked them to restore the site at the fourth time.

Now, they started on tiptopclothiers.com, wiped out the domain, wiped out the files and folders of a site that took me more than 5months to complete, when i was hoping that once i get back to lagos in jan. i will attend a meeting arranged by the owners of tiptopclothiers.com for official hand over and to collect my balance so i can repair my faulty laptop.

Now, see what viewbound systems tech are doing to me. i called them last two sundays to know why the site was deleted but there was no just reason, they said the site was deleted because he thought that the domain was not pointing to their servers which is a pure lie.

He said they were being conscious so that my reseller account is not hacked! hmmm, then i asked him, even if the domain was offline did that give you the right to delete my sweat of over 5months?.

At it all he pleaded that was going to restore the site which i asked him to.

But after 7days nothing was done i had to call them again 3days later, they said they were working on it. till yesterday morning i opened a support ticket and called them again, they asked me to open a ticket and i told them i already did! i got no response until today, and all they could say is"Am sorry am unable to find any backup for this account".

Well, viewbound, am sorry o, but like i said earlier my laptop is bad and i dont have any backup for that site.

My 1cent advice is,
If you were quick to delete my site always without asking for my permission in the name of fearing it was hack, then you should have more than enough backups to restore my site when i eventually call you to inform you that it was hack free!

Meanwhile, i don't want any problems with you guys therefore, kindly restore my site within the next 24hours before my client eventually takes legal measures against me cos i wont hesitate to do same against you if need be!
