onyenze123:God's grace, love and mercy does not exist. And neither does he. Silly fool. |
KingEbukasBlog:Whenever you realise that the god your forefathers were brought to worship by missionaries has no basis in modern science and reality then you may have taken an auspicious step towards mildly intelligent thought. |
felixomor:That's not logic. That's a quote you idiot. A quote that is abused ad infinitum by religious crazies to defend the fact that they have never been able to critically demonstrate that their belief in deities is anything more than an ancient cultural phenomenon. |
Don't get me wrong, Jesus was the beginning of a huge Jewish breakoff movement and revolution that shook Eurasia and the Roman Empire, and birthed one of the major religions in the world today - Christianity - but was the man himself really all that impressive, and involved in spreading the Christian faith, compared to other historical figures? For starters, his origin as a political and religious movement leader for a minority in the Roman empire is not unique. Similar uprisings occured in other Roman provinces, such as Boudicca and the Celts in Caledonia (now Britain), and the Gallic revolts in Francia (now France roughly). His teachings only fell on the ears of other Jews, who were the only ones he preached to. It was only after the rebellion faltered and Jesus died that St. Paul went on a pilgrimage throughout the Roman Imperium to convert non-jews like himself to Christianity, something that Jesus never did. Arguably, one could even say that the spread of Christianity in Europe was not by the hand of Jesus, but by Paul. Jesus's influence while he was alive did not spread far beyond the Levant, where local jews clashed with Roman imperial rule (similar to Boudicca and celts, and other movements in the Roman Imperium). Paul also changed some major aspects of the Christian faith (which at that point in time was literally Judaism + Jesus is the prophet) to make it more appealing to various tribes and peoples throughout Europe. As previously stated, modern Christianity was more spread and structured by St. Paul than it ever was by Jesus himself (maybe it should be cauled "Paulianity"? lol ).Secondly, as a movement birthed from the oppression of Jews under the Roman-controlled Levant, the initial movements of Jesus and his followers alone were not nearly as impactful as some more contemporary movements during the time in which they existed. Take Che Guevara and Fidel Castro for instance, who fought a socialist war of independence against Pinochet just a few kilometers from American soil, and won. Or the huge confucian social transformation of historical China. Or the Civil Rights movement that shook the developed world just ~50 years ago. All of these movements had far larger, far more successful impact during their existence, and the proteges of said movements have strongly affected the world in similar ways to the abrahamic faiths. |
KingEbukasBlog:There is a far vaster history behind atheism and religious skepticism than "God does not exist", but I don't see how claiming that "God does not exist" is illogical. If a bunch of mushroom worshippers in some far off valley claim that Fairies exist, and I respond that they do not exist and that there is no evidence for their existence, does that make me retarded? Nah, I'd say the ones who follow the teachings and social perspectives of bronze-age hash smokers, and genuinely believe in magical beasts like angels and gods and demons, and who impose these beliefs upon government and society are the real retards here. |
Gods are the only delusions here. Notice how the tools used by Christians, Muslims and other religious folk to defend their dangerous, psychopath inciting (ISIS, Ku Klux Klan, hardliner churchies, islamists, etc.) faiths have been consistently eroded by the progress of modern science and social criticism. Now their only weapons are pathetic and myopic arguments like "the world must have been intelligently designed!", "millions of people can't be wrong!" or the infamous "I have seen and felt god myself!" There is a reason that Christians no longer point to the tides to explain that god(s) exist. There is a reason you no longer see Muslims claim that the earth is flat (aside from IS and co., but they're an extreme sort of stupid). There is a reason why many faithful no longer believe that the earth is only a couple of thousands of years old. It's because traditional and modern science has constantly explained these phenomena with observation, analysis, demonstration and evidence. Something world religions have repeatedly failed to do. The greatest irony? A large number of these scientific pioneers were followers of the religions whos beliefs their works discredited! And some of them were even punished by authorities for it (see Galileo!)! |
DoctorAlien:What a load of bull LOL ![]() So I guess the universe is only a couple thousand years old?? Can I see your degree in bullshit cosmology? ![]() |
Well, I just thought - If Jesus is the son of god, and if Jesus is god, then wouldn't that mean that eating Jesus would be devouring god? Mmm. Crunchy god meat. ![]() |
I don't believe in religious nonsense but that post's analogies were so utterly stupid that they made my brain hurt! Yes, scandinavians are european. That is physiological. Yes vegetarians don't eat meat. That's the definition of a vegetarian - someone who doesn't consume meat. Yes blind people don't see. Again, physiological condition. Overweight people are overweight (duh!). Thieves are dishonest? There's some debate to be had over this but whatever, sure. However, Islam is a faith. It is not by definition the practice and belief in those particular Quranic verses, nor is it a physiological phenomenon. Muslims have a wide array of opinions and beliefs, and an even wider array of political and social positions. From Ismaelites to mildly practicing, bid'ah observing sunnis in Bosnia or Indonesia, to hardline salafist psychopaths that feed Islamic State groups in Afghanistan and the Middle East. For most groups outside of the aforementioned islamists, adherence to Quranic beliefs is on a give or take basis and usually coincides with local cultures (see: liberal Indonesia or pre-war Afghanistan, Vs Saudi Arabia). Christian faith is the same in this regard. Usually the more ghastly and draconic sections of the scriptures are rationalised as hyperbole or as a convoluted message regarding values, by both Christians, Muslims and by Jews. The whole 'making up excuses for horrible verses is not exclusive to Islam at all. Example - how many christians in the world today adhere to Bible verses like this?: Deuteronomy 22:28-29 NAB Exodus 21:15 NABClaiming that you cannot paint 1.5 billion human beings with the same brush because they are muslim is not a 'politically correct' statement. It is simply a correct statement. You cannot generalise one sixth of the human population based on religion in that way, and if you think you can with the horrendous analogies you just gave, then you're an out-of-touch idiot who needs to return to school. |
So I was thinking about how during mass people symbolically eat the flesh and blood of Jesus to communicate with him by munching on a wafer biscuit and drinking some holy water, and it got me wondering, what would it be like to eat the actual flesh and blood of Jesus. ![]() Say if you cooked Jesus over a fire or baked him, would his meat taste like normal people meat, or would he have some holy flavour? (due to being the son of god and all). ![]() Maybe he would taste like caramel pork. Holy Jesus flesh taste so good? ![]() What do you think ![]() |
Jesus died because the Romans stuck him on a cross and left him out to dry in the boiling sun. Mmmm, sun-grilled Jesus! |
otemanuduno:So because electromagnetic forces exist, that means that a god must exist? And what is the meaning of 'meaningful product' in this situation? That a new chemical element or compound is created? Every chemical reaction does this! There's no "intelligently planned" layout to the forces of the universe. What a load of fucking bollocks!!! |
God doesn't exist and there is no proof that they have ever existed. The abrahamic religions have their roots in mesopotamian and northeast african cultures. Other religions originate from other root cultures. Practically all of these religions ignore scientific explanations with regards to the history of the universe in their creation myths, and they are strongly coloured by the culture from which they have sprung. Almost all of these mythologies birthed in a time before people knew of things like solar systems, galaxies, gravitational fields, viruses & bacteria, chromosomes, fundamental interactions/forces, tectonic plates, atmospheric moisture patterns, etc. and so they came up with religious beliefs, or a belief in ghosts/spirits, to explain seemingly unexplainable things (e.g. earthquakes/tsunamis/cyclones, the night sky changing stars, diseases, rotten food, drought, the ocean tides, people with conditions like albinism) that they observed. There is no evidence within any scientific discipline, from the natural sciences, to ancient history, towards any kind of deity existing Man was not created in god's own image. God was created in man's own image. By man! Other countries like France and Sweden have already woken up to this madness. How long will it take for naija to awaken ![]() |
So now getting healthcare and medical assistance from trained professionals is a "sin" that should not be done because some uneducated crackpot from thousands of years ago said so in the Bible!? Will this stupidity ever end ![]() It is god-fearing fools like you who murder progress! |
Junia:That is exactly what the word "religion" originally meant, actually Religion - Middle English (originally in the sense ‘life under monastic vows’): from Old French, or from Latin religio(n- ) ‘obligation, bond, reverence’, perhaps based on Latin religare ‘to bind’.

Mohammad goes riding around on a magestic fucking flying horse in the Quran. Where to buy a flying horse? LOL
|
lilmax:The hell does this mean!? How does me saying a god doesn't exist mean that I actually believe that they exist? That makes absolutely zero sense! |
SuperSuave:That's stupid! Theism has REAL influence over REAL laws! Look at Nigeria's hatred of homosexuals compared to Western nations, it is directly connected to the amount of hardliner Theists in the country who give pseudo-scientific religious excuses for their beliefs - a spiritual demographic which is declining in better educated nations (e.g. Japan, Germany, Sweden, Canada)! Look at Saudi Arabia, where adherence to religious doctrine makes women into clandestine second-class citizens by law, and where it is the victim of sexual assault that goes to jail, not the rapist! All of this from arbitrary laws scribbled down in a collection of scriptures hundreds to thousands of years ago, by MEN (NOT a god). The scriptures that came to be known as the Bible, the Quran, the Torah, etc. etc. Is this not the purest madness? Waging wars, lynching and murdering people, threats and violence all for the cause of enforcing these ancient, draconic religious laws? These laws of a being that blatantly does not exist? Religions, mainly Christianity and Islam are a plague on humanity! |
It's not only that a god doesn't exist. It's that the Christian faith, along with other abrahamic religions is rooted in Mesopotamian bronze age cultures, which were frankly disgusting, violent and horrible. Bleep the Bible, it's filled with slavery, rape, the murder of children, brutality and obscenity - all of which were commonplace in these lands for a very long time. The same goes for the Quran! Even on the delusional assumption that a christian god actually did exist, then Bleep man, hail Satan! |
There is no scientific evidence towards any kind of god existing and there never has been! |
God is not real, not a christian god and not an islamic god. They have never been real. |

Neither of you has facts to back up your claims, the theists only 'believe' and have 'faith' while the atheist only disprove and ridicule their beliefs without having a solid one to replace it with.
