Well, thank God you have learnt from what happened to you.
Some other persons would've successfully sold the aluminium without being caught...

Don't be too hard on yourself, since your intention was not to steal.
What do you mean some people would have successfully sold the aluminum sheets without being caught

cry

Good afternoon all.

Warning: this is a narration of an evil I committed

I am a student. On Easter, towards the beginning of this year, I traveled to where I grew up and where my parents stay, to go serve mercin and make money.

After serving the mercin, the next day I told the site engineer that I was interested in levelling the rugged backyard of the house we plastered. He agreed, and told me to go start the work.

Like I said, the house was under renovation, and, some sheets of aluminum roofing were removed from the house top, and new ones were employed were the old ones were, by a carpenter.

I started the levelling work in the evening time, and as it was getting dark, I went home with plans of coming back early in the morning to finish the work

The following morning was a Monday. And on Mondays we do observe sit at home. Mondays are dull because of the sit at home, and we make use of the opportunity to play ball early in the morning. But this particular Monday I had no plan of playing ball; all I wanted was to finish the work, and travel to back to school.

Now, in order to enforce this plan of finishing the work early, and travel, I brought my 8 year's old cousin, so that he would help me in packing the old aluminum sheets that were brought down.

As we were working, my little cousin asked me if I will sell the aluminum sheets. I didn't reply him because of work stress.

When we were done working, as we were going home, we sighted an Iron condemn buyer, and my cousin pointed at the buyer, indirectly telling me to sell the aluminum sheets

It was as if brain ceased to work, for a while, and I took the Iron condemn buyer to the site, as if I own the sheets. We went down to haggling, and when we agreed on an amount he gave it to me, and I started heading home, to go collect my labourer wage from the site engineer. The buyer asked me to stay with him till he was done packing the aluminum sheets, but I was running low on time, and I left him there to go collect my wage.

At the engineer's house, as I opened my mouth to tell him I was done levelling the backyard of the site, he received a call, and the person on the other end (caller) told him something that, at first, sounded to me as if there was a robbery at the site.

The engineer rushed down his steps, and was on his way to, maybe, go catch the external person who had come to rob the site. I was following him, and suddenly I realized that I was the architecture of what he and the caller taught was robbery by an external person. And I told him that it was I that sold the aluminum sheets to the person (he taught was a robber). Why kwanu? was what he asked me. And told me that I should have asked before selling the aluminum sheets.

When we got to where an eagle eyed friend of ours stopped the Iron condemn buyer, the buyer pointed at me(indicating that I sold it to him). The carpenter who brought down the aluminum sheets, and put in place new ones, took it person; with anger he started telling me that if the aluminum sheets where to be legitimately sold it was him that would have sold it, not me.

My father is a respected man, and it was shameful for me, his son, to have done something like that. In shame I felt as if the ground should open and swallow me.

After everything, the engineer asked me to give back the buyer his money, and the buyer should take back the sheets to the site, and I should go with him to see that he returned the sheets.

This story happened on Easter this year, but till today, I haven't recovered mentally because of the trauma of disgracing myself.

To you readers, I know the question on your mind, which is "why should you sell without asking?".
Now the reason is, the motivational quotes I read before going to work, centers on no guts no glory, and he who can't take risk won't gain anything.
Again, I once tried to ask "the can I sell these?" question, but I forgot to ask.

That's it

Modify

After we returned the aluminum, I went to the site managers house, where the young owner of the site was also

The owner of the site is was 21 years.

I told him that I was sorry for what I had done. He asked me for my account number, so that he can send me the labour money. I didn't call the number, I kept on telling him sorry, and he kept asking for the number, as if he wasn't hearing the "sorry"

When I finally called it he sent me my money, and kept a straight face. As I was climbing down the stairs, I overheard him telling the site engineer that I am very very stupid

Why I am spilling all these is because I have disgraced my family, who still don't know about it.

My father is a Professor . Now imagine how people will see this matter
