At some point, both sides have to compromise. Israel too has to realize that a great injustice was done to the Arabs to correct the injustice done to them. And that means more jaw jaw instead of talk talk.

This means that jewish settlements have to go and the palestinans have to accept that Israel is here to stay,. Yes, it is effed up, yes I know, injustice, but for now, either compromises are made now, or we would wake up one morning and find the whole middle east a nuclear wasteland because people went kolos too far.

This is from the NIV translation which no real Christian uses because the scholars who translated it into English from the original Hebrew are atheists.

The Hebrew word that the NIV translated as “rape” in Deuteronomy 22: 28 to 29 is תָּפַשׂ (pronounced as “tâphaś”)

The word simply means to hold someone or something in your arms or hands. It does not have any connotation of force or violence.

It is used in several places in the Old Testament to describe the simple action of holding something in your had be it a cup or a musical instrument or an oar.

The actual word for rape in Hebrew is שָׁגָה ( pronounced as “shagah”)

That word is used Isaiah 13:16 when the Prophet Isaiah is prophesying about the downfall of Babylon at the hands of its enemies:

“...their houses shall be spoiled: and their wives shall be ravished.”

The word “ravished” is an old fashioned way of saying rape.

What Deuteronomy 22: 28 to 29 is actually saying is that where an unmarried woman and a married or unmarried man are tempted into having sex, the man would pay a fine for breaking the law and he was under obligation to marry the woman unless her father refused (Exodus 22:17) Once he married her, he could never divorce her. (Verses 28-29)
