A Yoruba elder has come out boldly and condemned Abike Dabiri in a shocking way. He did not hold back at all – calling her a complete disappointment to Nigerians in the diaspora.

According to him, Abike Dabiri made a hateful statement that seemed to tribalise criminality in Nigeria, indirectly pointing fingers at the Igbo community. He said her words were not only careless, but dangerous – and he completely rejected them.

This elder reminded everyone that while an Igbo girl was celebrated as the best student in England this year, the same group is suddenly stigmatised when negative news breaks, like cases in Malaysia where people are on death row. He asked: why the selective memory?

He went further, saying two Yoruba people are currently facing death penalties in Saudi Arabia, while over fifty other Yoruba Nigerians are also in serious trouble abroad. Just last week, more than fourteen Nigerians – mostly Yoruba – were arrested in New York. Yet, instead of seeing these cases as Nigerians committing crimes, Abike Dabiri allegedly singled out the South East.

The Yoruba elder accused her of hypocrisy – saying if a criminal carries a Nigerian passport, then the person is simply a Nigerian criminal, not an Igbo criminal, not a Yoruba criminal. He asked angrily: what do you mean by calling it their “normal routine”?

He also brought up old wounds – pointing to the suffering of Nigerians in Libya and Sudan, accusing Abike Dabiri of giving preferential treatment in the past while abandoning Igbo people who were stranded. He questioned her loyalty, calling her a bigot, and insisted that people like her should not be in power if their brains cannot work for the unity of Nigerians.

The elder ended with a fiery warning: Nigerians don’t want leaders who divide them along tribal lines. The people are already suffering, and they need solutions – not more hate.

All of the people you mention, which of them do you read and hear their opinions of government policies on social media as compared to Peter Obí?

Which of them do you see showing all their good philanthropic works, and they all do them, as publicly as Peter Obí?

Which of them do you see their publicists following them with cameras all over the place and putting it out there whether or not the rest of us cares or wants to see it?

Finally, which of their supporters want to kpai everyone else that does not think their Ọga is a messiah?

Peter Obi loves the attention and, like the media attention seeker he is, goes out of his way to find it.

He puts himself front and centre at all times so he is the champion politician in terms of attention. He should give us a break.
