While the Top Management at the helms of affairs in slot is busy propagating the Slot Image, the lower cadre are busy destroying the already battered Image. Battered because of system failure that is now recovered almost on monthly basis. As I talk to you now, my Blackberry Z3 that I took to one of the Engineers, Chibuzor James Agomuo at the Abule -Egba Branch and the #8,000 advance since 26/03/2016 are still with him. I complained of sim tray and battery, he took the phone inside, checked it and charged me #12,000, to which I bargained for #10,000 which he agreed - #3,000 for repairs and #7,000 for new battery.

The two most significant things are:

1. He had damaged my phone beyond repairs because he called me to tell me afterwards that the phone was not charging even after changing three new batteries and that the screen broke while repairing it. I wonder why Slot should engage incompetent hands to handle such technical jobs?

2. He tell lies with impunity - How can you tell me of three battery changes after you had already done it and yet telling me the battery is not working. At a point after he had said all these, he called me to tell me my phone was okay and I could come around to take it. Even my wife (a journalist with AIT) whom I sent to pick up the phone for me on a day she had an event to cover got disgusted and almost missed her assignment that day, she ended up telling me that the Engineer was a liar and that what remained of my phone as she saw it that day was very bad.

I think it was high time Slot reviewed its procedures and try as much as possible to contain the challenge of expansion especially in the area of recruiting and training their staff. This is because as I also write now there is an Engineer in the Abule Egba Branch of Slot named Chibuzor who has not only broken the glass of my Blackberry Z3 phone taken there for repairs but has also vandalized the phone (He was telling me the phone stopped working) after paying the 8,000 Naira out of the 10,000 Naira I have paid and he was telling me to forget both the money and the phone. The receipt for the repairs is still with my wife.
