The habit of writing daily can help you clear your mind and get your ideas flowing. Daily writing can be used as a way to think out loud, troubleshooting problems, thoughts, and anxieties you might have. So here’s how it works. There are three steps that will help you start a daily writing habit. 1. Pick a space you like You need an environment that is comfortable for you to be writing in. It can be whatever place you like: your dining room table or a desk, the couch, the front porch or even the bus ride back home. But the idea is that this is special, sacred even. It’s where inspiration happens. Try to set it apart. 2. Set a time that is the most convenient for you It can be whenever you are free and energized for writing, whether it is 5am or 11:30pm. Whatever time you end up picking, just try to make it consistent and stick to it. You need to show up every day at this time, take a pen and paper and write stuff down, no matter what. It doesn’t matter if you have absolutely no idea what you’re going to write about; when you commit to a time, you will never get into a daily rhythm of writing. 3. Set a goal This can be a hundred words or ten thousand. Whatever it is, give yourself grace. Hemingway, in his time, had days when he was writing 1500 words one day and 300 the next day. Pretty much, anything from 300-1000 is sufficient to forming a writing habit. Do this over and over and over again, as often as you can. Use online tools and resources to get you started. Within months, you’ll be surprised how much easier and how natural writing comes to you. |

TOO LATE TO APOLOGISE "Where are you coming from by this time of the night?" He thundered. "Honey you won't believe what happened today. Oh God I'm so tired right now." She replied as she yawned. "I asked where you are coming from and you are vomiting rubbish. Does that answer my question? Are you trying to pretend you don't know there's no food in this house?" He said fuming. "Honey I'm sorry but you should hear me out first. I...." Before she could complete that sentence, a thunderous slap kissed her left cheek and she passed out on the sofa. "Get my dinner ready, after that you will tell me why you switched off your phone." He said as he walked towards the bedroom. When he noticed there was no response from his wife, he was infuriated. He rushed towards her to unleash the rest of the demon in him but on getting close to her, he discovered she has passed out. He was shocked. Cold sweat appeared on his forehead and raced down his temple. Fear gripped him. He began to panic. He dashed into the bedroom, picked his car key and darted out of the house to open his car. He rushed back into the house almost immediately, lifted his wife and headed to his car. As he made to start the ignition, the car key fell off his hand. He was visibly shaking. Picking up the car key proved to be a difficult task to him as he couldn't get hold of it. He succeeded but had to use both hands to start the car ignition. His shaky hands turned against him. His heart was racing. He couldn't hold the steering firmly but he managed to drive his way to the hospital. Getting to the hospital, he alerted the nurses. His wife was rushed into the emergency ward. He became restless. |
TEACHING OF HISTORY AS STANDALONE SUBJECT IN SCHOOLS LONG OVERDUE, PSM LAUDS FG OVER DECISION. The attention of the Progressive Students Movement PSM NIG has been drawn to the decision of the Federal Government to implement the teaching of history in all primary and secondary schools across the country. Information at our disposal as revealed by Mr. Sonny Echono, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education shows that the Federal Government has directed all primary and secondary schools across the country to immediately implement the teaching of history as a standalone subject from the next academic calendar. PSM NIG wish to commend the Federal Government Of Nigeria in this regard, even though it has been long over due. We remain optimistic that the teaching Of history in schools will bring back the lost moral, religious, social, and mental values among students and youths which has been influenced by digitalization. History as a study of past events, particularly in human affairs, will also go a long way in preparing Nigerian Students and Youths for future leadership tasks, because they already have an insight about the series of past events in the country as it has affected present either positively or negatively, aimed at projecting the future in terms of unity, peace and development. We have no doubt that with the reintroduction of history as a standalone subject in schools the labour of our heroes past will no longer be in vain, even as this will also create additional job employments for our qualified youths!
