AgricultureRe: Nigerian Kidnap Gangs Drive Big-time Nigerian Farmers Away by Pman8: 3:13pm On Jun 18, 2023
Wodu89:
Locals initiated voodoo on a farm land I got last year. Immediately I moved tractor to the site and cleared like 30 acres, I got sacked from a very stable job I had kept for over a year that was funding the enterprise. Imagine losing 1.2M PEr month paying job because of some adventures

Information must be balanced though, I've been to hundreds of farming communities asides from this one I mentioned I never get envoius vibes, rather they support us. Let's not overplay the negative narratives.

I saw the rave, vibe and headlines Rotimi made. A whooping 10,000 - 30,000 acres farming project. The problem isn't insecurity in it's entirety but Nigerians and greed. How can someone have a farmland that can generate billions per annum and can't have stable security strategy, systems and workers and spend maximum of 10 Million per year. The farm owners of large scale farms are simply greedy. I've seen their setup well enough to recognize it. If I own a large scale farm, I must invest heavily in security.
Bro I am happy seeing this comment here,,,I live in europe and I have seek out employment in major farmland owners here..I have worked with several crop producers here and I can tell you that the major place they invest funds is not even on the crop production but in the security of the farmland and private security for their protection.

They invest majorly in securing the farmland with electric fencing, CCTV, Farmland Alarm, they outsource security of farmland to a competent security firm...They have security personnel with all kinds of equipment Gun, tasers, walkie e.t.c patrolling the farmland every second and minute and hour of the day...

In all their farmland they have a security outpost..they make use of a greenhouse too, you need to see their set up!
You come to Nigeria, there are farmers earning like 100million-1billion naira per annum and they cannot invest 1% of their revenue into securing their farmland or even their own personal security..And again the government isnt helping out either...

Okay. But where is your market. First rule, know your market to become a determinant of the farm. From specie sorting to planting, spacing, nutrients management, growth process. Weed management till sales point

I know everything about its entire setup process from start till finish.

Let's connect and discuss your projects. Holla at me on WhatsApp on my contact displayed on the signature
I will hit up soon when I am home.
Thanks for the response btw

I am interested in planting banana for commercial purpose.
I would like to link up with people that are into the same field, kindly drop me your WhatsApp.
I am looking into this line of business as a retirement scheme, I have spent a good amount of time abroad and I have decided that farming is the way to go. I would like also to be furnished with the necessary information.
From what I have gathered so far, one needs to have a good water supply (borehole), then consider how secure the site is. I am a total novice in this field and would like to get more info on how to proceed. I have a budget of 10million which will involve farmland lease, borehole, mounting of security tower, electric fencing, CCTV, Security Alarm, workers yearly salary, Banana Sucker Purchase e.t.c. I am looking at planting at least 3,000-10,000 Banana sucker....
Thank you as you keep the reply coming in.
