A Palestinian state is the “only solution” to the decades-long Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Pope Leo says, reaffirming the Vatican’s position. “We all know that at this time Israel still does not accept that solution, but we see it as the only solution,” Leo told journalists on a flight from Turkey to Lebanon during his first in-flight press conference. The Islamic University of Gaza has begun the first steps toward a gradual return to in-person learning, inside buildings damaged by airstrikes and partly reduced to rubble, after two years of forced interruption from their studies due to the Israeli genocide that destroyed the enclave’s educational infrastructure. Within partially restored, cracked walls, hundreds of students have returned to classrooms in a scene that reflects the determination of Gazans to reclaim life and education despite the scars of war. On Saturday, the Islamic University resumed its first day of face-to-face instruction after the war suspended the educational process for two years, during which limited attempts at online learning were possible amid displacement, power outages and the destruction of university facilities. According to the Gaza Media Office, the Israeli genocide destroyed 165 schools, universities and educational institutions, while 392 sustained partial damage, crippling Gaza’s education sector. In 2024, Turkey’s tourism receipts reached US $ 61.1 billion, a record high. In the same period, Saudi Arabia’s overall tourism spending (domestic + international) reportedly reached SAR 284 billion, which converts to about US $ 75.7 billion according to one recent report. For inbound (international) tourism only, Saudi Arabia’s 2024 spending was reported as SAR 168.5 billion — roughly US $ 45 billion based on a 2024 average exchange rate of 1 SAR ≈ US $ 0.2665. These numbers suggest that depending on whether one counts total tourism spending (domestic + international) or only international (inbound) tourism, Saudi Arabia’s 2024 revenues from tourism could appear higher or lower than Turkey’s. Interpretation & Key Considerations The US $ 61.1 billion for Turkey comes from official tourism-revenue data for 2024, reflecting foreign and transfer-passenger income. The SAR 284 billion (≈ US $ 75.7 billion) for Saudi Arabia refers to total tourism spending — including both domestic and international tourists. The SAR 168.5 billion (≈ US $ 45 billion) figure isolates inbound-tourist (international) spending in Saudi Arabia — a more comparable metric to Turkey’s “tourism receipts,” though even here accounting definitions may differ. Exchange rates matter: the conversion relies on the 2024 average rate of 1 SAR ≈ US $ 0.2665. Conclusion: If you compare total tourism spending in Saudi Arabia (including domestic travel) vs. Turkey’s receipts, Saudi Arabia appears to lead (~US$ 75.7 bn vs. US$ 61.1 bn). If you restrict the comparison to international tourism only, Turkey (US$ 61.1 bn) slightly outpaces Saudi Arabia (≈ US$ 45 bn in inbound tourism), but this depends heavily on how “tourism receipts” are defined in each country’s statistics. Why the Difference Matters Definition differences: “Tourism receipts/revenues” (what Turkey reports) often reflect spending by foreign visitors only; “tourism spending” (as used by Saudi reports) may include domestic tourism, which can inflate the total figure and make direct comparisons misleading. Exchange-rate assumptions: Converting SAR to USD involves using a specific exchange rate — if different rates are used, the USD values shift. Domestic tourism vs. inbound: Saudi’s strong domestic tourism adds to its total — whereas Turkey’s reported figure may exclude domestic travel by Turks. This structural difference matters for cross-country comparison. References 1. Rabbi Yosef Mizrachi is widely reported to have claimed that approximately six billion people are idol worshippers who make God angry and, "according to the Torah, do not have the right to live". These statements are part of a controversial video in which he labels Hindus, Buddhists, and Christians as idol worshippers deserving of the death penalty. Context of the Statements Idolatry: Mizrachi's comments center on his interpretation of Jewish law (Halacha) regarding idol worship. He refers to the majority of the world's population, including people in India, China, Japan, Tibet, Nepal, and Thailand, as well as Christians, as "idol worshippers". Controversy: These remarks have generated significant controversy and widespread condemnation from other Jewish leaders and organizations, who largely reject his interpretation. Other Controversies: Mizrachi is known for other highly controversial statements, including claims that the number of Jews killed in the Holocaust was fewer than six million and that conditions like autism are a punishment for sin in a past life. He has faced criticism and was reportedly banned from entering the United Kingdom due to his "hateful, potentially violence-inciting rhetoric". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYYMz2VW5Uw?si=wWWwb9qowNDEof95 |

Two US senators this week visited a historic church in Taybeh in the central West Bank, a Christian town often facing attacks by illegal Israeli settlers, Anadolu reports. Extremist settlers set ablaze one of the outer walls of the Church of St. George in July, drawing a global wave of condemnation from Christian leaders worldwide. “We’re here overall because we want to focus on the really terrible situation throughout this area, including the war in Gaza,” Senator Van Hollen told Qatari Al Jazeera television. The US senator stressed the necessity of ending Israel’s ongoing war in Gaza and settler violence in the occupied West Bank. Hollen said he and Senator Jeff Merkley visited the families of five Palestinian Americans killed in attacks in the West Bank since October 2023. “(Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu’s government has done nothing to rein in violent settlers, and in fact, they’ve been complicit in allowing these attacks,” he added. Merkley, for his part, said it is important for members of the US Congress “to come here to witness and to listen and to carry the stories of injustice in our heart, but also in our advocacy back home.” “Starvation of people in Gaza is unacceptable, and that violence on the West Bank against Palestinians is unacceptable,” he added. Israel has killed nearly 63,000 Palestinians in Gaza since October 2023. A choking blockade imposed by Israel on the enclave since early March has created catastrophic conditions for the territory’s 2.4 million residents, leading to famine, widespread disease, and the collapse of essential services. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice over its war on the enclave

I’m in Bethlehem — the city believed to be the birthplace of Jesus. Today, because it is a Palestinian city in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, Bethlehem is surrounded by a massive concrete wall, military checkpoints, and expanding settlements. It creates a system of control that many here say Jesus himself would have recognized. If he were born today, locals believe he would be born on their side of the wall. Over the decades, the percentage of Christians living in Bethlehem and the occupied Palestinian territories has dropped drastically. Christians, once a significant portion of the population, have become nearly invisible. To understand what happened, the narrator meets the Palestinian Christians who still remain. Pastor Mundar Ishaq explains that each year, his congregation becomes smaller as younger generations leave for better lives abroad. He worries that in 20–30 years, Christians might disappear completely from the land where Christianity began. Around 1900, Christians made up about 11% of the population in historic Palestine. Today, they are less than 2% of the population in Israel and the occupied territories. In Bethlehem specifically, the decline is dramatic: from 80% Christian 70 years ago to only about 12% today. Why are Christians leaving? Ishaq says the reasons mirror those of all Palestinians: the Israeli occupation, restricted movement, limited economic opportunities, and low quality of life. He points out once-busy streets that are now dead zones after the separation wall cut through the heart of Bethlehem. Many Christians here emphasize that Jesus was a “Palestinian Jew”—born under Roman occupation—and believe that if he were alive today, he would experience similar barriers. Israel began constructing the wall in Bethlehem in 2002, saying it was for security, but it cuts deep into Palestinian land, enclosing farmland and limiting movement. The narrator meets Samir Lolas, an olivewood artisan whose shop sits just a few feet from the wall. The wall blocks farmers from their lands and even blocks access to Jerusalem—only five miles away. Like all Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza, local Christians must apply for Israeli permits to leave. These permits are often denied, even for religious worship. In 2022, many Christians were barred from attending Easter celebrations in Jerusalem. Christians also face violence from Israeli forces and settlers. A major example was the killing of Palestinian Christian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, who was shot while reporting and whose funeral procession was violently attacked by Israeli police. Despite attempts to frame the conflict as a Muslim–Christian divide, Palestinians here emphasize unity. Muslims and Christians live as neighbors, colleagues, and classmates. Pastor Ishaq notes that visitors are often surprised to learn that Palestinian Christians even exist. He directs the "Christ at the Checkpoint" conference, which teaches international Christians about life under occupation. Many visitors express shock at seeing the realities of checkpoints, walls, and military presence in the place where Jesus was born. The narrator then visits the Nassar family, Christian farmers who own a 100-acre property south of Bethlehem called Tent of Nations. Their land, purchased in 1916, is now surrounded by Israeli settlements. Israel claims ownership of the land and seeks to build additional settlements. The Nassars have spent more than 30 years fighting in Israeli courts to keep their land. Because of building restrictions, the family often gathers for worship in an underground cave, an ancient space they’ve turned into a chapel. Their farm has faced repeated attacks—crops burned, trees bulldozed—but Daoud Nassar says they refuse to respond with hatred. Their Christian faith centers their struggle in justice and nonviolence. Most other Christian families in the nearby village of Nahalin have already left after being squeezed by settlement expansion and the wall. The Nassars feel a responsibility not only to preserve their own land but to maintain hope for the wider community. Their farm hosts summer camps, local programs, and international volunteers—who often have more freedom of movement than the landowners themselves. Pastor Ishaq ends his Sunday service with a prayer for the end of the occupation. He says it is clear to him that God weeps over the land loss, suffering, and displacement faced by Palestinians—Muslims and Christians alike. The Great Betrayal: How White American Zionists Christians Helped Destroy Christianity in Palestine ____ The hypocrisy of American Christianity is staggering — but let’s be honest, none of this shocks us. White American Christianity was built on a superiority complex from day one. They look down on Black Christians, Arab Christians, and anyone who doesn’t mirror their self-appointed status as a “chosen” people. That mindset has always shaped their theology, their politics, and their selective morality. And that same arrogance is exactly why they treat Palestine the way they do. A lot of people are not actually speaking the truth without trembling: Evangelical Christians in the U.S. helped destroy the Christian community in Palestine. Because here’s the brutal reality they never want to confront: White evangelicals worship Jewish political power, not Jesus. Do you know that the Zionists deliberately pay some of these Zionist pastors in American churches to talk about how wonderful the modern state of Israel is and how it is connected to biblical Israel? They also pay for their trips to Israel, covering everything—flights, accommodation, food, and more. This is how they are using their money, power, and influence. The Zionist oligarchs—Jewish billionaires—keep doing this everywhere they are. They try to promote this Judeo-Christian alliance. We agreed that Christianity’s foundation is rooted in the Israelites/Hebrews, but Jesus has transformed everything. Christianity doesn’t revolve around Judaism or any group of people. Christianity is about Jesus Christ. The Jews don’t believe in Jesus and are still waiting for their messiah, who will come in human flesh to rule the world. This is not based on Christian eschatology, belief, or the New Testament. Also, the Zionist oligarchs want to change the narrative. It is God who should give pastors vision, and it should come from the Bible—not from Zionists. This is how they have been manipulating the narrative. Even when they kill innocent civilians on a massive scale, you have people—especially Christian Zionists—supporting and condoning it because those being killed are Muslims. This is ungodly and not of Christ. Christian Zionists have placed the modern State of Israel above the teachings of Christ. They treat Jewish identity as spiritually superior to Christian identity — meaning they’ve effectively placed Israel above Jesus Himself. That alone tells you everything. And look at the results: Palestinians used to be 10% Christian. Today, only 2% remain. Why? Because Christian Zionists abandoned them. For these evangelicals, Palestinian Christians simply do not count. Their existence doesn’t matter. Their suffering doesn’t matter. Their churches don’t matter. As long as Israel is the one killing them, American Christians go silent. Israel is ALWAYS more important to them than the Christians actually living in the Holy Land. That’s how deep the hypocrisy runs. Christian Zionists have essentially declared: “Israeli power is sacred. Palestinian Christians are disposable.” They scream about “Judeo-Christian values,” but somehow those “values” never include the Christians born in Bethlehem, Nazareth, and Jerusalem — the original homeland of Christianity. This is the level of moral bankruptcy we’re dealing with. And the fact that this conversation is only now being dragged into the light? That tells you everything you need to know about these people — and the system they’ve built.

On Friday, November 14, 2025, the UN peacekeeping mission in Lebanon (UNIFIL) reported that surveys in October and November 2025 confirmed Israel has built concrete walls and T-shaped barriers that cross the UN-demarcated Blue Line into Lebanese territory. UNIFIL considers this construction a violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 and of Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The incursion in one area near the town of Yaroun alone has made more than 4,000 square meters of Lebanese land inaccessible to local residents.

For 45 years, Anis Mahmoud Muhammad Dawla's family has waited for the right to bury him. He died on hunger strike in an Israeli prison in 1980. And Dawla is not alone: Israel currently holds the bodies of hundreds of Palestinians who have died in custody.

Illegal Israeli settlers carried out at least 264 attacks against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank during October, marking the highest monthly total since officials began tracking such incidents in 2006, the UN said on November 7. In a statement warning against the sharp rise in violence, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said the attacks, which resulted in casualties and property damage, amounted to an average of eight incidents per day. According to OCHA, more than 9,600 such attacks have been documented, with about 1,500 occurring this year alone — roughly 15% of the total. The UN body added that according to OCHA-confirmed data, 42 Palestinian children had been killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank so far this year, meaning one in every five Palestinians killed has been a child.
