'Nigeria's Power Sector Potential

Nigeria is well endowed with resources in both renewable and non-renewable energies which constitute plausible solutions to address existing power shortages and promote the drive by the federal government to increase current installed capacity of the country significantly by the year 2030 and beyond.
As it stands,NIGERIA'S MAIN ENERGY CARRIER IS BIOMASS (81.25%),followed by natural gas (8.2%),petroleum products(5.3%),Crude oil (4.8%),hydro power (0.4%) and others (<1%).'

The above was stated in a document prepared by the federal government.Can you imagine that Biomass is yet to be explored?.Not even 1MW of biomass energy has been sent to the grid.

Unfortunately, we prefer to use our fossils fuel which is not even up to 10% energy potential,destroy the climate with it and use the effect of our destruction (hot solar) when we can actually protect the climate and still provide energy!.

If only 50% of Nigeria's biomass can be utilised,power problems will be eliminated almost completely!
