Local Municipality (ELM), through its contracted security service at Vanderbijlpark Cemetery, has confirmed the arrest of a male suspect from Tshepong for the desecration of graves.

The suspect was apprehended on Saturday, 6 September 2025, after being caught in possession of a human skull concealed in his bag.

According to ELM spokesperson, the arrest follows a series of grave vandalism incidents reported earlier this year at Jackobskop Cemetery, where at least seven graves were dug up. The most recent case was reported to Parks and Cemeteries officials on Friday, 5 September 2025.

In his confession to security officers, the suspect admitted to desecrating multiple graves at Jackobskop Cemetery. He further identified himself as a traditional healer, claiming he used human remains in rituals to “cure” his clients.

South African police have arrested a 37-year-old Nigerian national for dealing and possession of drugs worth an estimated R40 000. The arrest took place on Friday, 12 September 2025, at around 10:30.

According to police, the team acted on intelligence about a man allegedly selling illicit substances along Paul Kruger Street. The suspect was approached and searched, leading to the discovery of Crystal Meth, Heroin, and Rock drugs, all packaged in transparent plastic bags.

The drugs, with a combined street value of approximately R40 000, were confiscated, and the suspect was taken into custody.

He is expected to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 15 September 2025, facing charges of dealing and possession of drugs.

Nationwide — India Kinamore, a 26-year-old African American woman from Colerain, Ohio who was pregnant, was shot and killed inside her home back in March 2023, on the same day she was scheduled to give birth. Prosecutors recently charged three men, including the father of her unborn child, with her murder.

Authorities said the killing was staged to look like a burglary and robbery. On August 21, a grand jury indicted Robert Ervin, 20, Kayvon Warren, 30, and Lamar Morris Suggs, 22, on 13 counts. The charges included aggravated murder, burglary, and felony assault, according to WLBT.

Prosecutors identified Warren as the father of Kinamore’s unborn child. He allegedly pressured her to have an abortion, but was unable to proceed due to Ohio law. Investigators said Warren was also in a relationship with another woman, struggling financially, and had recently lost his home.

Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich described the crime as a conspiracy. “This should have been one of the happiest days of India’s life,” she said. “Instead, the father of the child conspired with two others to kill her. It is heartbreaking. My office will see that justice is done for both India and her baby.”

A 20-year-old foreign national has been arrested following a deadly incident in Wegdraai Village, Capricorn District, where a 55-year-old man was killed.

The police Spokesperson Malesela Ledwaba says that the event is connected to a love triangle involving the victim, a 38-year-old woman, and the suspect’s older brother.

Malesela Ledwaba says that during the conflict, the older brother reportedly attacked the victim with an axe, leading to the man's death and serious injuries to the woman.

"Paramedics confirmed the man's death at the scene, while the woman was transported to the hospital", he concluded.

The younger brother, who is believed to be in the country illegally, was arrested at home, and the older brother remains at large, with police actively searching for him.
