Don't use the word "STRONGER" between Nissan and Toyota. Firstly TOYOTA is in trouble for the past few years now by virtue of all the recalls they've experienced in their new cars. Nissan is stronger to me personally. Because Toyota cars are lighter than Nissan's. Nissan cars are heavier. In terms of durability, it all depends on how the owner maintains the car. Toyota can never be my partner ever. They are dissappointing. I don't know why people like Toyota cars. I will describe TOYOTA company simply as " JACK of ALL MODELS and MASTER of ANY!" No wonder they are in a pecarious situation with US government. |
From my experience, the following are what I would look at in a used car b/4 I buy it: 1. Physical apperance 2. Inside the car: (MILAGE),Dashboard, seats 3. Is the car leaking oil? 4. The engine-Like how does the engine looks? 5. Crank the car and listen to the sound of the car. 6. The headlight, R & L Hand Signals 7. The hood of the car. Does it close properly or not 8. Brake lights and brakes 9. Finally, the condition of the Windshield: Broken or intact. I won't buy any car if I have an issue with any of the above. The asking price should be a red flag to you without testing the car. Have your eyes opened wide and beware of 419 |
Francis, It's clear that the problem you have is caused by your Laptop's hard drive. But before you repartition or reformat the hard drive, try this operation first: Go into the Laptop's BIOS. You may have to either press F1 for IBM Laptops, F1 for most Dells, and F10 for most HP Laptops- this is based on the manufacturer of the laptop. Set all the configurations to DEFAULT. Then try the installation of Windows again. If this operation doesn't solve the problem, remove the hard drive and plug it back in properly. It could be that the hard drive is loosed or may be it's not properly attached to its ribbon cable. If this operation still doesn't solve the problem, now format the hard drive with a different file system. If the previous file system was NTFS, format it now with FAT32. There are many ways to troubleshoot this laptop. However, for the sake of this medium, try this last method: Let's say that you are trying to install Windows 2000, when the installation gets to a point where it asks you whether you want to setup up Windows or repair Windows, choose the option that says you want to repair Windows. Then choose recovery windows. If you are able to get to C:\ (C prompt), type chkdsk /f - this is a DOS command. When you get the C:\ (C prompt )again, type this Dos command also: fixboot. If all these operations do not solve the problem, then you may have to buy another hard drive. Philip |
