Due to the economic hardship that has worsened with the lock down that the Lagos state government introduced to control the out break of the dreaded corona virus disease, A lot of people can no longer feed themselves talkless of feeding their families. People have been saying that the government of the day are not coming to the aid of the people they claim to govern.In the area of Ikate Surulere people were seen complaining that the chairman apatira had local government officials go around feeding people with 50 naira bread and 50 naira watery beans. So it was a thing of joy when Tajudeen Okunnu,Sesan and a couple of their friends decided to put their resources together and cook for their community.The Oniboure CDA was informed which included oduduwa street and some other areas that were walkable due to movement restrictions.They shared cooked rice with healthy portions and also distributed recharge cards.The food did not come with spoons, because the idea was for people to go home to eat and use the recharge cards to call or increase their browsing capabilities. What we can learn from this is that if we can come together we can help each survive this hectic period. You had igbo ,yoruba, hausa, christians, muslims cooking together sharing food irrespective of their usual differences. In each community we have several churches & mosques and they are even closer to people than government, they should come together as one and take turns to feed the people within the community they reside. So the moral of this story is don't wait for government,churches or the mosques you guys can put your resources together as a community and feed each other. Let me also thank some people who heard what they were doing and even though they were not members of that community still donated money.
